At first, I thought there was no way I could read it. Another book of annoying teens… but just hang in there through meeting them all and it‘s a fast-paced read with an ending you cannot guess!
Great book! Fast read. Quite the twist at the end. Didn‘t see that coming. Can‘t wait to read the second book
Okay, I need some help here guys. This is my #bookspin book this month, and did I get a defect from my local bookstore?? It skips from page 234 to 282 and the words are upside down! I take it this isn‘t supposed to happen, and I really wanted to find out who killed Simon 😂
I read this book when it first came out. Even though I knew who killed Simon, it was nice to revisit the story and the characters. Some things I remembered and some were like reading for the first time. It is a bit like the movie The Breakfast Club, yet very different. It‘s a great mystery with a lot of twists and turns. #SeriesLove2024 @TheSpineView @Andrew65
“On Monday afternoon, five students at Bayview High walk into detention. Bronwyn, the brain, is Yale-bound and never breaks a rule. Addy, the beauty, is the picture-perfect homecoming princess. Nate, the criminal, is already on probation for dealing. Cooper, the athlete, is the all-star baseball pitcher. And Simon, the outcast, is the creator of Bayview High‘s notorious gossip app. Only, Simon never makes it out of that classroom.”
I like this book.
Yet after watching the serie first I was expecting a bit more drama.
If you didn't watch the netflix series this book is amazing and for me it still is a great book. I really like how you read a lot of different perspectives at the same time. The writing style is really nice for us readers.
It is a clear pick!
My man throwing a dart match and me reading a book & supporting him. Nothing better then doing what we love! ❤️
The Breakfast Club meets Pretty Little Liars blurb is actually accurate for this one. A fun YA thriller that doesn't insult its characters or the reader. Some pretty heavy themes and the plot does require some suspension of disbelief, but I liked it.
Home sick... boo! Doing some binge watching of One of Us is Lying.

I finally picked this up and couldn't put it down.
I'm not sure why but YA books have been the only one's I've enjoyed lately. Adult novels are almost routinely overly wordy, pretentious or predictable and some I can barely finish. This book had a great story, pacing and lovable characters
5? this was the first book I read after the "reading block" I loved it so much that I wanted to test if it was just a fluke and I'm still not able to read (because it tokk me a while to finish) or am I really going to enjoy reading again and that is how I started The Fine Print. It's a really good story and I didn't know the killer till the very end which made me love the book that much more. I hate it when I know ➡
Forgot about this one I read in my spam posting last night… it was pretty good, if just for the fact you want to figure out who did it. The author makes you think at some point it could have been any of them. The cover has always intrigued me, so when I saw it at Goodwill, I snagged it. I‘m between pick and so-so on this.
I loved this book!!! It always kept me on my toes! It was a little predictable but still great!
I‘ve read this book about twenty times and now I‘m reading it again. I have no new book ideas….Any suggestions?
This Breakfast Club meets Gossip Girl YA murder mystery was a fun read. 5 students are in detention when Simon, who runs a gossip app, dies from from an allergic reaction. In the investigation that follows, it seems as if he knew a secret that each of the remaining 4 students would not want to get out. So who is to blame for Simon‘s death? I actually listened to this on audio and I liked the multiple narrators that voiced each of the 4 students.
I found this book to be interesting and a good read but in some parts I wish it got to the point . I do love the author and her work so I would rate it a 3.5/5
Passing these books along if anyone is interested?

I just finished reading this. I really like pretending to be a detective and the separate points of view. I called it at the beginning but I questioned myself as soon as we were told about their motives. I can't wait to read the next one!
I don't know why I “so-so“ 'd this book, but... I decided to start the Peacock TV series as a good distraction while I try to recuperate from COVID. I feel better, then worse, then better. It's rather frustrating.

Switching between Bronwyn, Addy, Nate, and Cooper, Karen McManus entangles the reader though empathy achieved by subtle use of disadvantage, context, and vulnerability.
This was a great YA mystery/thriller. If you aren't a fan of YA books though you probably won't to avoid this one.
I listened to the audiobook, and the cast of narrators did am excellent job. The action starts early on and the author keeps you guessing throughout. I might have to try the TV show now.

#ScarathlonDailyPrompts #Day24 #Lies The first in the authors High School crime series, and probably the best of them. During after school detention, the creator of a gossip website dies of an apparent allergic reaction. But after his death is classed as murder, every person in that detention room is a suspect. Who is lying & who is telling the truth? #Scarathlon #TeamSlaughter 6pts
This book keeps you on your toes wonder should could of actually done it. Constantly worrying is the author is tricking you or if you finally figured it out. I can‘t wait to read the sequel!
Gossip Girl meets Pretty Little Liars. What's not to love!? The 4 main characters were in the wrong place at the wrong time and now are the main suspects in a murder! We spend the entire book trying to figure out who did it!? As we try to figure out who the killer is, dirty little secrets start to pour out. No one leaves unscathed.
You know you love me 😘
XOXO

Really loved it… somewhat easy to pick, I never know if that‘s In hindsight… will watch the series and buy the other books even!
Four high school students are accused of murder when one of their classmates dies under suspicious circumstances. The Breakfast Club meets Riverdale.
Juvenile ✨ Gossip ✨ Cliche
Slow to get into and for me to like the characters, but it became more of a page turner as the book went on. Glad I kept going and looking forward to seeing the TV series now.
I accidentally found out part of who did it (not tryna spoil it but yk). For me, it wasn't impossible to put down, but there again I have never had the experience of that. This is definitely up there as one of my favorite books and I give it a 4.5 although I do recommend it more than any other book I've read. Even being spoiled, Karen M. Mcmanus made it still so fun to read for me. Overall 4.5 stars and definetly recommend!!
unique...
i listened to the audiobook while driving on a road trip,
definitely did not get bored
7/10
This was a very quick and easy read for me, which I enjoyed! The plot was thick and the build up of secrets for the characters was intriguing throughout. This made it easy to connect to the Bayview Four and really sympathize with their stories. I can‘t say I was unbelievably shocked by the outcome, with the exception of one characters role, but enjoyed it nonetheless. I have yet to watch the show but might give it a try to compare the two!
Ive been in such a reading slump but slowly getting back by reading this book. Thank you for all the activity
Hands down one of the best books I‘ve read so far! The plot? Brilliant! The characters? Fantastic!
It was like I was watching pretty little liars in my head. I‘m a sucker for murder mysteries and this had me on edge at every single page.
I highly recommend it!
Rating: 4/5
This YA gets right to the action in chapter 1, and I was hooked and stayed up until 2am to finish it. (Something I haven‘t done with a book in over a year). There was a clue that revealed the twist only about halfway through the book. I was hoping it was a red herring and would change course and completely surprise me, but that wasn‘t the case. Despite predicting the end, I still was excited for the journey and how it all tied together. 4/5 ⭐️
Love the GG vibes.
Five students walk into detention and only four walk out alive, making them the obvious suspects. And since all of them had secrets they didn't want exposed, the police see motive for any of them to be involved. I enjoyed this quick, pulpy whodunnit. And the twist was a good one! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I decided that this would be my first read, just to ease me back into the hobby. It looked lighthearted, interesting, and funny in a dark kind of way.
And I think it delivered. The reveal was kind of a letdown, but otherwise I really enjoyed getting to know the characters. Addy reminds me of Cassie from Euphoria, haha!
