Gary cat napping after a bit of light reading 😆
This is a really great book, the plot is interesting and there‘s a lot of characters that all have their own personalities and roles to play. There are scenes that show the villains perspective and planning, it makes it clear that he is a serious threat to the protagonists. I also like that despite being a book for younger readers, it‘s not afraid to show violence. I don‘t know if I‘ll read the rest of the series but I recommend this book.
I took this photo of books that I reread for an IG book challenge… and it has so far accrued one like 🤡
Anyway, I like this photo! And rereading! It‘s been awhile since I‘ve read Redwall tho - I love Basil Stag Hare. Character of all time.

I have met Brian Jacques, Chuck Palahniuk, John Leguizamo, and Sam J. Miller.
I'd like to meet V.E. Schwab, Deliliah S. Dawson, Steve Martin, and Jeff Lemire.
#wondrouswednesday @Eggs
Like @Monica5 said, I too am bad with technology so I'm reusing the original picture! 😂
🍰 Okay. So I'm cheating a bit on this one because I'm choosing the Redwall series by Brian Jacques! While there is not any dessert on the cover, every book contains so many mouth watering treats and desserts when the characters have their feasts! 😋
🍰 Croissants with cream cheese! Hot tea and iced tea!
I picked up book 1 of the series today. I felt it went perfectly with my sunflower tea cup. My friend who I went shopping with today actually met him when she was in 5th grade. AND he recited the 1st couple paragraphs of this book to the class! (He also read from another book but I can't remember which one.) #smallworld
I went into work early today, and I‘m feeling tired and a little grouchy. 😅
So I‘d want to join in with the Redwall animals, Matthias and Cornflower and Friar Hugo and Constance for a holiday feast and gift exchange, and I would bring the vegetables I managed to grow this year.
#SundayFunday I hope you all are safe and happy this holiday season! ❤️
Hope everyone is having a great #ManicMonday !

Rereading books from childhood is fraught with peril~it‘s often not as good as I remember! Redwall has been BETTER than I remember, and I already had a fondness for it 🥰 so glad I‘m rereading it after all these years. It‘s been fun to read passages out loud to my young son.
36/150 I was leery of this book, afraid that I was too old for a fantasy with talking mice and woodland creatures. Boy was I wrong!! This was a wonderful adventure, full of lovable characters. I'll definitely read more of this series.

Matthias cut a comical little figure as he wobbled his way along the cloisters, with his large sandals flip-flopping and his tail peeping from beneath the baggy folds of an oversized novice's habit.

Calling all fans of candied chestnuts, hotroot soup, toasted cheese on oatcakes, and honey and blackberry pie! At long last, it‘s Redwall day on my book podcast! Author Namina Forna joins me to discuss both the first installment in the series and the Redwall universe as a whole. We discuss epic fantasy tropes, our favorite characters, so-called “women‘s work,” the author‘s backstory, and more. Link to listen in my bio! 🎧
One of my favorite childhood series!
A brave warrior mouse takes on Cluny the Scourge to save his home and friends.
I remember watching the show on PBS, and it is possible my mom read the first book to me.
This is my first time reading the series since
I highly recommend this book and series. And I recommend The audio books, narrated by the author and a full cast
Time for The Chosen One to step up! ⚡️
1. I like them! They can be really interesting! It‘s especially fun to see them played with, outside of epic fantasy.
2. Matthias, from Redwall, I am that is
3. It actually has its own trope name, The Unchosen One, where the Chosen One chooses themselves!
#SundayFunday Choose to make a little joy today! And don‘t forget to tag me!
As I read these words, I got chills again, just as I can remember my younger self feeling it when the Abbot said his name. Cluny the Scourge.

Going back and reading this because it‘s one of my all time favorite book series and also because it was recently announced that it‘s being made into a Netflix series and movie. But there was already a Redwall animated series that aired from 1999-2002. I may go back and watch that again too.

PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one drooling over this news today!! I've (no joke) been waiting and hoping for this since..I guess I can't say "my whole life," but I'll go with it!
Now have to plan a whole reread this year! Will also have to rewatch the original, lovely animated adaptation...I really hope that this director does my favorite childhood series justice!!
*nervous fretting noises* Please be good! 🤞🏻

I've only read one rewall book, but a friend messaged me today because I'm the cartoons and book person of our group. She wanted me to know that OtGW maker was hearing up for a Redwall adaptation and this is how I described Redwall to her. I feel like it's somewhat accurate though 🤔
My sister sent me this meme, and I laughed so hard I had to share it with y‘all.

I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description or reason for wanting to read the book. Some are old and some will be new. Don't judge me - I have a lot of books.

Recent book haul part 2 with #thegoldencompass, #redwall and #thehobbit
I am so excited - my complete set of Redwall books came in today! Kwame Mbalia (author of Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky) is doing a readalong of the series on Twitter and partnered with an indie bookshop to send books to people. It was a lot of money for me so I‘m devastated that 2 are water damaged 😭 but it couldn‘t be helped given the weather today and I am so excited to revisit this series from my childhood!
@LibrarianRyan sent the best #quarencationswap gifts! I‘m so excited for The House in the Cerulean Sea and the tote and T-shirt are perfection. ❤️😷
I‘ve been telling Axton he should read Redwall this year but we didn‘t have a copy yet as I knew our library had it. Now he doesn‘t have to wait and his shirt can match his book!
Thank you so very much! I know you mentioned you were sending something else too, but this is already perfect! 🎉❤️😘

Martin the Warrior is a mouse, a clever, resourceful and brave mouse who defends his home, Redwall Abby, from the evil one-eyed rat, Cluny.

Oh how I loved this! What a rollercoaster ride in the best of ways! Why did it take me so long to read this? I can‘t remember the last time I felt so attached to a setting or to creature characters in a story. It was humorous, it was uplifting, it was dark, it was deadly but it all added up to be a loveable and lovely story. Constance is my favorite 😁 #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks
Finishing off my cream stew while I try to get as much read of my last #bookspin pick as I can before the lights go out. Our furnace has stopped working so my boyfriend has gone to investigate. Which may or may not mean he has to cut power to the house. I‘m so close to being done with this! Fingers crossed the lights stay on at least for a little longer!
Day 25: Cluny the Scourge from Redwall is an amazing villain!
