Deja Dead: A Novel | Kathy Reichs

My lovely, clever, marvelous #Littens . I recently started rewatching Bones. And I‘ve realized I haven‘t read any of the books that the show is based on.

Are they any good? Should I give them a try?

Ruthiella It‘s been ages since I read one. As I recall, they were pretty good. I think, however, the TV show is not an adaptation of the books but more loosely based on Kathy Reichs real life. 9mo

vlwelser The books are good. But they have no relation to the show. You should try one. But think of it as a separate thing. 9mo

Kristy_K Agree with @Ruthiella and @vlwelser . Books are good but outside of the MC‘s name and job, they are different. I enjoyed both the books and the show! 9mo

julesG What the others said. The books are good, but it's definitely not about the TV serie's Tempe. I'd say the novels are the fictional/exaggerated story of Kathy's job. 9mo

thebacklistbook According to an interview the TV series is about Kathy Reichs but she wasn't comfortable being directly depicted so they named the character after Tempe instead. The books are in my opinion good. As long as you don't go in expecting to recognize stuff from the show. 9mo

Clare-Dragonfly Jeez. I am happy for Martha Wells but not thrilled with the idea of having a face for Murderbot… especially a white man‘s face. I think Murderbot‘s appearance should be extremely ambiguous in terms of gender and ethnicity. 12mo

BookmarkTavern @mom2bugnbee Neil has said that the two of them actually had a lot of notes for a second book. They just never got to it, because Terry received his diagnosis. So hopefully it‘ll turn out just as good as the first season! 🤞🏻 2y

TheKidUpstairs I've never read this series, but to my general knowledge of Greek Mythology Lance Reddick is a freakin' fabulous choice for Zeus! Not one I would have expected, but seeing this just makes so much sense. 2y

KathyWheeler I love Lance Reddick! He will make an interesting Zeus. Are the children going to closer to the ages they were in the books? 2y
