2022 was my first year using the Story Graph app, and either I was doing something wrong all year, or the app doesn't work properly. I say that because it said that I read no books in 2022, but it gave me my all-time stats. But since I only started using it this year, that's the same thing. Maybe I'll put all of the books I've ever read on there, but that would be a monumental task. I might do that though instead of trying to reset it for 2023.
I was surprised that a little more than half the books I read in 2022 were less than 300 pages. But then I remembered that several of those books were Munk Debates transcripts, which are pretty short.
2022 was my first year using the Story Graph app, so I have no other years to compare it too. But this looks like what a typical year would look like for me.
I was surprised to see that out of the 59 books I read in 2022, nine of them were fiction. I have such a strong preference for non-fiction that 9 is actually kind of a lot for me.
According to Story Graph, I read only 59 books in 2022, which is a very slow year for me. But I had goals in life, and couldn't spend nearly as much time reading as I normally would.
Not my most stellar reading year but we still have a week, right?!?
Thanks @BarbaraBB! For now, this is my #Top21of21. Roughly in order of date read (with adjustments to make the graphic work) and the higher rated works are larger.
I'm tagging @Q84, @Butterfinger, @Chrissyreadit, @catsandbooks, @staci.reads, @labfs39, @dilara, @bnp, @stretchkev, @charl08 to share their top books.
2020 was a good reading year for me! I read so many amazing books and they really helped keep me sane. Still working on reading diversely but I made progress this year. I‘m so thankful for books and reading and Litsy!
Other stats: 50 fiction, 15 nonfiction, 16 on Kindle, 5 YA/middle grade and (drum roll please) 135 books purchased/gifted!
In the style of Nick Hornby (Housekeeping vs The Dirt, and other collections) I track what I‘ve read and what I‘ve purchased each month. It‘s ok that one far exceeds the other because buying a book and reading a book are separate pleasures! #reading2020
I updated my spreadsheet with my final reads of 2019. Above are just a few of many stats. 😂
I finished 210 books, and the majority were audio (68%). 67/210 were ebooks or print books.
Good stuff:
Saved $2,376.53 by using the library.
Read majority (69%) women authors.
Read 38 from 1001 books list.
Not so good stuff:
Spent $283.83 on books for me.
1/1/2019 owned TBR count: 674. 12/31/2019: 715. 😬
POC authors only 16%.
Still, a good year!
This has probably been the most abysmal reading year in terms of quantity, but I read some good ones! You? #goodreads
My totals for the year. I read nine more books than my goal. The most popular book I read was one of the few I DNF.
I can never crop these well enough to show 🙈 really pleased with my year! Smashed my target and discovered loads of new book. My longest book was the Count of Monte Cristo which was a fair old whack! Looking forward to next year!
I‘ve definitely had the best reading year of my adult life. Thanks Littens. Having this community kept me motivated to keep reading. Here‘s to 2019 being as good of a reading year! 🎉
Proud of myself for reading more than ever before in 2017! Here‘s hoping I can keep it up in 2018 ☺️📚
This year I didn‘t manage to complete my Goodreads reading target and read less books and less pages than last year 🙁 this was despite reading several short novellas and graphic novels to try and get back on track. The positive is I found a new enjoyment for graphic novels. Hears hoping 2018 is a better year in general and for reading!
I read a little bit of a lot this year. 4th batch. Gifts, bookstore purchases, audiobooks, bookclub selections, library borrows. Biography, essay, history, economics, horror, sci fi, literary fiction. Award-winners, classics, short stories, series installments. I visited Oxford, NYC in the future, and ancient libraries. I experienced battle, met gods, watched the plight of a man on a beach, and visited a small town in Maine. You read any of these?
I read a little bit of a lot this year. 3rd batch. Gifts, bookstore purchases, audiobooks, book club selections, library borrows. Science, horror, religion, history, magical realism, mystery, thrillers. Award-winners, modern classics, debuts, stand-alones, series installments. I went to post-Civil War Spain, the Roaring 20s, and parallel universes, walked with Neanderthals and watched a librarian set up a mobile bookstore. You read any of these?
I read a little bit of a lot this year. 2nd batch. Gifts, bookstore purchases, audiobooks, book club selections, library borrows. Economics, sci fi, memoir, history, historical fiction, thriller, comedy, and an epic. Award-winners, classics, debuts, medieval tales, stand-alones, series installments. I went to the antebellum South and South America, walked with Chinese emperors and listened to a Nobel Peace Prize winner. You read any of these?
I read a little bit of a lot this year. First batch. Gifts, arcs, bookstore purchases, audiobooks, book club selections, library borrows. Kids, business, science, religion, philosophy, history, magical realism, mystery, thriller, fables, poetry. Award-winners, classics, debuts, epistolary, stand-alones, series installments. I went to ancient Japan and modern-day Pakistan, walked with Buddha and listened to death row inmates. You read any of these?
I reached my goal! Slow but steady to the finish line 😊. 70 more reads under my belt. As you can see, I thoroughly enjoyed most of them. Not going to say which is my favorite, I'm saving it for April's #MyFavoriteBookSwap 😁, but suffice it to say, most people I've gotten to read it go in hesitant and everyone winds up loving it. I read a helluva lot more in college, but it's the most titles I've read on GR, 900 pages short of last year's though.
Was so close to completing 80 books but the plague has hit me hard this week. In the end my goal was 50 books, so I think I can still be happy with 79. Happy New Year! 🎉📚 #myreads #2017readinggoal
Ok so I now know that I‘ve read every book I can squeeze into 2017 and I finally feel like I can post this!
Really happy with my reading this year. Last year I only read 66.
My 2017 reading journey... so far! There are still 2 weeks left, of course. ;)
I realized today that I‘ve been really slacking on posting my mini reviews to Litsy. Should I catch up by posting a few a day, or just leave it alone? I don‘t want to clog you guys‘ feeds too much, so let me know your thoughts!
I‘m glad that #goodreads provides a look back. I‘m hoping to squeeze in one more book before January 1st for a nice round 40. 📖📚📚📚

This is going around Litsy (originally from Insta) and I think it‘s a nice wrap up. So I‘ll try to catch up in the next few posts! #allthebooksof2017
Spotted this on Litsy, but originally from IG, the next few posts will be me playing catch up! 😃

A little late in sharing this. I blew past my goal last year of 175 and was kinda hopeful I might make 200 but I just fell short of that. Oh well. Something to strive for this year.
So, here's my 2016 finally tally! I missed my mark by 6 books, but I've read 1 more book and almost 3,000 more pages than I did last year 😊👍🏻. Improvements all around. I think I'll keep my goal at 70 for 2017. It's doable. If you want to friend me on GR, my profile is www.goodreads.com/jasonvigorito.
By far the best year of reading I have had -- not just because of the amount I read, but because of the richness it added to my life and world view.
This is the breakdown of my year in books according to Goodreads. 157 books read, with an average rating of 3.9. Not too shabby!
Ehh, 2016 wasn't the greatest book year for me. But there were a few that stood out! #TopReads2016 coming next 😊 #YearInReview
Happy New Year! Here's my year! Oddly i can't figure out how to get that same format so I guess I'll just post two! #happynewyear #goodreads2016
Jumping in with my Goodreads stats, which may or may not be accurate. I'm notoriously bad at keeping track of what I read. Pretty good reading year, if I do say so myself ☺️
It was a great year of reading. This is a record year end total for me. I am so glad to have found Litsy and this wonderful community of readers. Happy New Year Littens! Cheers to a better 2017.
Here's My Goodreads year in review - quite a satisfying reading year if I do say so myself!
My stats so far! though I'm guessing the pages is probably about 1k too high as it counts the notes in the backs of nonfiction books. I do expect to read probably 7 or so more books before year end. I'm in the middle of four currently!
