My #roll100 for November with @PuddleJumper laughing so hard that two books from the same series got picked, even with the numbers being so far apart!

My #library has more donations than we‘ll ever sell at our booksale and since we‘re going to be having an #alteredbook contest this summer, I made an example. Everything is made from the book, except the mini book covers, which I printed out, and the little paintings, which I printed out and glued onto some plastic buttons I had laying around. And since it‘s a Strike book, I was able to sneak my signature in it 🥸
Second time reading this after a number of years, thought I would read it again before I start watching the series. I rather enjoyed it as I did the first time and am looking forward to reading the entire Strike series.
This is pure dumb fun. I enjoyed reading the detailed descriptions of elite, wealthy settings. I also appreciated how the dialogue and conversation drove the story. Finally, the slow pace with which Robin and Strike‘s relationship develops is an added bonus. I‘ll be checking out the next book.
Up next: another one that‘s been on my bookshelf for ages…and has been recommended by so many friends!

Listened to this for work book club. It was okay - I never connected with the victims & family and suspected the killer & motivation early on.
And so to bring me up-to-date on the #12BooksOf2022, this is another one that took me by surprise. I‘ve never read the Harry Potter series. I read The Casual Vacancy and though it was dreadful. So I stayed away from the Strike series. But after seeing so many people so excited for each new release, I decided to give the first a try. Since then, I‘ve binge-read most of the books series and binge-watched the TV series.
@Andrew65
Finally finished 'The Cuckoo's Calling'. It really won me over by the end and I will def be reading more Cormoran Strike novels! He and Robin were genuinely likeable characters! I'm getting stuck into 'The Silent Companion' by Laura Purcell. It's been on my tbr list for ages and it seems appropriately eerie for this month 👻🎃
Determined to get this finished as Lily canters around this morning. Coffee, pastry and a decent book 👍💛🐎☕️
If popular opinion demands I watch a movie or read a book, I tend to balk on principle. I‘m just newly returned to enjoying reading for pleasure and finding it difficult to stay focused on even good, engaging stories - but this one held me! I like good character development in imperfect characters. Here is the redemption story of a failing private investigator and the intellectual awakening of the temp who comes to work for him.
Saturday morning riding lesson ... not me, my daughter... Saturday morning mummy time! Been meaning to read this for ages... just hope it's better than my last read 😉☕️🍫📚🐎
This isn't a bad murder mystery but it's not a great one either. It wasn't a page turner for me. I put it down and then came back to it because I did want to find out who did it. There were some characters introduced that gave the appearance of having much more involvement but then just disappeared from the pages so that didn't leave a lot of guessing who the killer would be. JK Rowling's first venture into non-fantasy was OK and has potential.
I‘ve avoided reading the Strike series mainly because the author is so popular and I kind of steer away from things that seem overhyped, but after seeing a lot of people praising the series, I gave it a go, and I must say I‘m enjoying the series, though more for the relationship between Strike and Robin that the crime element.

1. Cuckoo's Calling - Robert Galbraith
2. John Connolly
3. Call me by your name
4. The Clash
5. Crocodile Rock - Elton John
I received this book for my birthday earlier this year from a friend, and I don't know why it's taken me so long to read it😅It was a very interesting murder mystery and I enjoyed the 'Sherlock Holmes' feel. Though a little slow and I did predict who the killer was, I enjoyed the events that played out, and especially liked the interaction between Strike and Robin. Overall it was a good book but could have been shorter.

Just finished this for my first ever #LMPBC!
Hmm I feel like this didn't quite hit the goal for a thrill read but the suspense was definitely present by the end.
I enjoy a good crime fiction every once in while and I was not disappointed by this at all. It kept me intrigued but it was a bit long. Which scares me because the next books in the series are even longer! 😳
Solid 4.25 star. Hope you like it too!
Started this book for my first ever round of #LMPBC.
This book has been on my shelf for 2 years!
I love the drama of a criminal investigation book so i predict a 4 star read!
When troubled model Lula Landry falls to her death from a snow-covered Mayfair balcony, it is assumed that she has committed suicide. However, her brother has his doubts, and calls in private investigator Cormoran Strike to look into the case.
Finally reading this and though it was filled with gists but I do find it rather dry as it feels more like reading a textbook. I would think there were too much going on and somehow I got lost midway. Prob good for tv, I haven‘t watched it yet. I somehow guessed the killer so the ending was no surprise but it did drags on a little 😅

1. Dark mystery crime fiction, I think 😅
2. My current read is apparently one, The Cuckoo‘s Calling by Robert Galbraith

This book could have been waaaayyy shorter and been just as good! I enjoyed it, but it took me forever to read because of how much extra nonsense was in it. Pretty sure I‘ve gone cuckoo from reading it.
Thanks for the tag @bthegood
🌟Yes, if I stay up late reading
🌟Cormoran Strike novels and Emma - I have an almost annual reread of them all
🌟Getting through the month with work. I‘m on a countdown to the end but I don‘t want short timers to creep in before I‘m done.

Day 157.
Here I will note 365 books (or as many as I will have before I get tired) that have shaped my taste in literature. No explanations, no reviews. Just the cover of the book.
I do not challenge anyone. You are all welcome to take part.
I wasn't sure where this book was headed when I started but enjoyed figuring out "who done-it" and folling the steps of the detective.
I'm hoping by next check-in I am done with this one! Its so good!

Ugh this was trash, it was boring and obvious. It really took my energy to get through it
I meant to spend the afternoon reading, but my daughter convinced me we should make Chinese dumplings (about 12 dozen of them) instead!
I still managed to put in 2 hours and 50 minutes for the #20in4 readathon. @Andrew65
I really enjoyed this book, I just finished reading it 3 days ago. The characters were really well developed and the story line was intriguing and exciting. The ending shocked me and I would definitely recommend it . I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
I finished this 2 weeks ago and forgot to review. I really enjoyed the characters in this one. Strong MC‘s and intriguing + witty side characters. The detective story/mystery was well played out and I didn‘t guess the actual culprit. Storyline moved quickly. I enjoyed this and will eventually try the rest of the series. ☺️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️/5
This book was fun. I wish I could feel comfortable with the whole book. I give it 7 out of 10 - I would say higher but the writing in some sections is were a little cringey. I will watch the series on HBOMax. My friends love the book series. #crime #whodoneit #uk #british
When Strike asked Kiera if she had slept with his father, before sleeping with her. This whole moment took me smooth out. It was cringey moment lol 😂 - I am still listening to this book. Having to ask someone have you slept with my father, means you probably you shouldn‘t sleep with them.

I missed a couple days so doing another cheat post. I have read all of the above books, first books in a series, and very much enjoyed them. I haven‘t read beyond book 1 in these series but I look forward to continuing on with these series.
I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description or reason for wanting to read the book. Some are old and some will be new. Don't judge me - I have a lot of books.

Well, it's been a while... but nice to see you all, my fellow Littens 😊 Current read, but audio version. Cuckoo's Calling, just finished the first half, and I'm loving it so far 😍
My book finds this week!! So I have book 3, the Career of Evil. Not knowing it was part of a series I started it. I quickly realized it had a good history behind it. I am a bit bumbed that book 3 has a very nice book cover and these are the tv promos...
I've heard great things about this series.
Who's read it?
This has been on my shelf for ages, and I'm glad I finally read it! I really enjoyed this one: the mystery was well done, but I adored Cormoran and Robin.
I have book two, and will be reading that asap!
