A soft pick for me. I don‘t know that I will like this series as much as the author‘s Secret, Book & Scone Society-I feel like that one is grittier & feels more real & this one has a family secret that requires suspending disbelief a bit more than I like. On the plus side who doesn‘t like a storybook resort & lots of book references. As Book 2 is my pick for #SeasonalCozies February/Valentines I‘ll be continuing on.

pickThis was a low pick for me- I‘m not quite sure why though. I think it felt a little bogged down for a cozy. Also it felt like 2 stories simultaneously, when 1 in either direction was enough. Will hopefully be in mail Wed. #cbbc
pickI enjoyed this cozy mystery. Jane lives with her uncle and aunt in a resort and to increase the number of bookings and raise money for repairs to the property, she creates a Murder and Mayhem week. There will be prizes for those who solved the clues. But the activity turns in a real murder after a book was given as a prize by mistake since the book shouldn‘t be given away. Jane will discover many secrets around this book, about a society ⬇️
pickThis was a reread for me. I really enjoyed it again. It is set in a resort that is known for its library. Unfortunately, it books are to die for literally, and Jane, the manager and newly appointed protector, is left trying to slove the case before another murder occurs or worse, the book that was stolen disappears permanently.

For yesterday‘s #treat prompt I‘m going to have to go with “REtreat.” I love Ellery Adam‘s Secret, Book & Scone Society series, but I have yet to start her Book Retreat Mysteries even though I have the first 3 books loaded on my Kindle. A book retreat sounds like a treat to me (hopefully without the murders!) 😉

This was such a fun book! It's like Agatha Christie in Stars Hollow with lots and lots of books.
I wish the bookish resort setting was a real place! I'd go in a heartbeat!
All the characters are so lovable.
I did guess the murderer but not the method or motive. But that reveal in the middle of the story was a big surprise. Didn't expect this cozy to take that turn! But I like it and can't wait to see how Jane's journey continues
Started this one over a delicious breakfast of pumpkin spice coffee and Greek yogurt topped with jumbo blueberries, grain free granola, and local honey this morning!

pickMy first Ellery Adams is in the books. A cast of quirky characters, a fun plot, and the setting is a bibliophile‘s paradise. I look forward to inhaling the rest once the cozy season starts in the fall.

pickFeels weird to say a book with “murder” in the title was fun, but it was! Central plot was interesting & bookish themed, so that‘s awesome. Writing was much better, less cheesy than other cozies I‘ve read, & I liked the MC, Jane, a lot. Some side chars were charming, some blended together. Didn‘t love how Octavia‘s weight was talked about. The family secret plot line was a bit wacky, but still fun, for sure. I‘d def live at Storyton Hall. 3/5 ⭐️

The place is in need of some financial income so Jane comes up with an idea for a special Mayhem and Murder themed week for Mystery lovers. Books, food, delightful friends, sweet family ties, and a surprising twist. Diving into the next, now!

The Starbucks line wraps all the way around the building and out to the road. But we have new library books (first time 4 year old wore his mask and he did so great! in and out in under 5 minutes too.) So we will wait and enjoy our books haha! So I am at a wonderful reading retreat! And I am reading the first in the Book Retreat Mystery, very apropos...
The retreat has been phenomenal so far: fun and very personable hosts, gorgeous B&B, delicious food, comfy places to read, plenty of coffee and tea... what else can I say.
Said at a meeting of “The Cover Girls,” the book club in this book. Isn‘t that a cute name for a book club?
At the last meeting of my book club, my friend said to me, “you always have a quote from the book to share” so I laughed out loud at this during yesterday‘s #morningcommute.

And just like that I‘ve finished the reading challenge! Needless to say, I increased it 😂. The tagged book was the last one and it was fabulous! A cozy set in a book themed resort? With a secret society tasked to guard literature secrets and rarities? Sign me UP! I got a very Librarian-esque feeling from it, minus the magic.
pickThis was an excellent start to a new cozy mystery series! Jane is manager of Storyton Hall, a grand resort catering to bibliophiles. Hosting a week of Murder and Mayhem turns into more than she bargains for with the untimely demise of a guest! I wish Storyton Hall was a real resort because I would totally go there!
