I just finished it today and I loved Louise O'Neill's books "Only Ever Yours" (which I'm guessing is the one @Itchyfeetreader was talking about) and "Asking For It", which is a heartbreaking story about rape and how quick people are to blame the victim. "Almost Love" is just as good as the first two. 6y

A Place Called Perfect | Helena Duggan

How cute is this cover!?!?!? I'm in love with it heheh. It's also a great book about a family who move to a town called perfect where everyone is afflicted by a sun that turns them blind unless they wear special glasses- but perfect is too perfect and when her Mum goes nuts and her Dad disappears Violet has to solve the mystery!

Well that was a creep up on me great read! Got sent a proof from work and absolutely loved it! Modern Salem mixed with its witch trials heritage, written by a descendent of one who was a part of it. All the while being fast paced, exciting and fascinating! P.S this is already out in the US (lucky you) but not in the UK till January next year!!!!

I love this book! The alternative England is so interesting and the new take on witches I loved. It has such a sprawling story line and you really get into the characters heads ❤️❤️❤️ Good if you like Books like Sorcerer to the Crown :) P.S please forgive the unappealing background of trains and the BFIs back entrance 😂😂

pppooraikul Loved it! The second book is a bit messy, though. But you need to get to the last book. The ending is nothing like I've ever expected! 👍🏼 Read on! 😁 7y

Cheeky coffee at lunchtime 😊😊😊 I ❤️ this book, it's fascinating. Jay Griffiths travelled the world visiting cultures and meeting people. It took her 7 years to write this book but it's so beautiful I want to cry on every other page!!!

quietlycuriouskate Her writing scorches the page, doesn't it! By the end I did feel like I'd been bludgeoned by her recurring anger, though. I'll look forward to your review. 7y
