Our June read for #LittensLoveRomance has been chosen! Though it was a close vote. This book doesn‘t have chapters really, it‘s separated into sections. Some of them are longish so try to plan ahead (I need to remind myself of that!) We‘ll be starting mid June to allow time to find the book. Let me know if you want to be tagged in my daily posts!

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.35-37: Meh. I mean, they finally get their HEA but because I didn‘t really like them as characters I‘m finding it hard to care? Maybe that‘s a bit harsh. I just found myself constantly irritated during this book. But it certainly made for some fun discussions and I enjoyed reading it with you all! ⬇️

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.33-34: I feel like Sam would have made a bigger scene while being fired. It was over too quickly! A fit would‘ve been thrown. But I guess that‘s a good thing. No mo‘ drama. I mean, Nick‘s gone, Sam‘s gone, Josie‘s practically living with Liam…which was so quick but I guess they have waited ten years. Noah isn‘t too broken up about Nick. So alls well that ends well. Oh, there are still 3 chapters? Sigh-We‘ll finish tomorrow.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.31-32: well at least they listened to each other and talked things out. And now they‘re cozy cozy again lol. Well why not - I mean now that Nick is out of the way (I say with a bit of sarcasm). Now they‘ll have to deal with Sam before she does something stupid - wait, who‘s at the door?

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.29-30: well, Liam should‘ve for sure handled things with Sam in a better way. Not that she‘s not completely overstepping here but he could‘ve talked to her about what was going on and what his plans were. Yikes. At least Liam‘s mom seems genuinely interested in Noah. We‘ll see about his father.

#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR Ch.16-20: Eve gets new leads that take her to Isis‘ lover Chaz and away from Selena Cross. His father was a killer. Better be careful Eve: the sins of the father do not make the man - you should know that better than anyone. But Eve goes after him hard. Soon all evidence is leading her to him, including a deranged killer (someone from Chaz‘ own sect) who names him as her accomplice. ⬇️

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.27-28: ugh. Just when I think I‘m starting to like one of the characters in this book they do something that pisses me off. Like Nick. He was mature and apologized to Liam but then continued to act like an ass. And the whole Africa thing? Without talking to Josie? Please. And I think Liam buying a house on his parents‘ street might be a mistake. They want nothing to do with him or Noah.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.25-26: well a confrontation btw Liam and Nick was bound to happen. Liam handled it well actually. And Nick was decent to go and apologize. But man, I really dislike Josie. I mean in general, but especially when she gets all cozy with Nick and then has the gall to accuse Katelyn of looking too cozy with Liam. I mean dear lord! I guess we can say these characters are “real” and “flawed”. Geez, they certainly are.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.23-24: ugh. There‘s a feeling in the pit of my stomach. Will Liam and Josie cross the line? I don‘t like cheating and I don‘t like books with cheating. I never look too far into the books we read as a group because I don‘t want too many spoilers. I read alongside you all. And sometimes I pay for that🙄 I hope they stick to the sidelines - at least until she figures out what she‘s doing with Nick.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.21-22: yikes. Yikes to Liam‘s parents and yikes to Sam. Yeesh - Liam‘s got some toxic people in his life. Also, Josie going to LA on her own without Noah as a buffer is asking for trouble. At least break up with Nick first!

#LittensLoveRomance Ch. 19-20: I wonder if they should‘ve told Noah with Nick there. I mean isn‘t he the third parent and shouldn‘t he get a say? I‘m not sure. It‘s an iffy situation all around. I do know that Liam kissing Josie and telling Noah he loves her is going to confuse everyone. And Josie wanting to roll her eyes when Nick says “our son” really says it all. I don‘t think she really loves Nick. I think he‘s been a placeholder.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.17-18: k, I don‘t like Nick but I‘m also not a fan of Liam being so blatantly flirtatious with Josie. That will just confuse her more than she already is, and will certainly confuse Noah. I‘m glad they‘re going to tell Noah - I do think it‘s the right thing to do. But I think Liam needs to take a step back from Josie - she‘s not free to do what she wants. I mean she‘s engaged to someone else and that should mean something.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.15-16: quite a bit to unpack in these chapters. First, if Josie wants to stay back from Liam, listening to his entire music catalogue probably wasn‘t the best decision. Second, I know we don‘t like Nick, but Josie is still being unfair to him. And I think she has been for a while but she didn‘t want to be alone so she keeps him around.⬇️

#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR: Ch.11-15: it seems like members in Selena Cross‘ cult are dropping like flies. Eve has the wicked witch in her cross hairs but things are complicated when Feeney discovers she‘s hiding things from him. Boy their fight was painful to read and I‘m glad they made up quickly. ⬇️

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.13-14: Okay. Fresh day. Fresh outlook. I will read these chapters without getting annoyed at these characters….ugh. Never mind. Liam left because he felt like he couldn‘t follow his dreams? How were Josie and his friends holding him back? Because they had certain expectations for him? I think a lot would have helped if he‘d just talked to them about what he was feeling. ⬇️

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.11-12: Still don‘t care for Liam. Until I‘m told otherwise, it seems like he was tired of his charmed life & decided a change was needed. I hate that the people in his life became burdens & were expendable. Even if his parents forced his hand there was a better way to break free. But - Josie can‘t keep Liam and Noah apart unless she gets a handle on what they both want. It‘s not just about her-It needs to be most about Noah

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.9-10: nuh-no Liam. You don‘t get to act broken hearted. You decided to leave. You made the choice to go. Granted you didn‘t know about Noah but you did know about Josie. So don‘t play the martyr. And Josie: you can‘t NOT tell Noah. He deserves to know who his dad is. Both these characters are irksome.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.7-8: Hm, I‘m seeing some red flags with Nick for sure. I don‘t like the way he manhandled Josie. Was that the first time or is it a regular occurrence? Do we think Liam was lying when he said he wouldn‘t care if Josie had moved on but seeing that it‘s with Nick pissed him off? I think he would have cared either way. Things are going to get very complicated.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.5-6: well I guess cat‘s out of the bag. Do you think she should have tried harder to tell him about his son or did the fact that he changed his number make it clear that he had moved on? If he would‘ve stayed, would he have even been able to go to college with a baby on the way? Would their lives have been very different? I think he would have grown to resent her for holding him back. He seems like that type.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.3: so when he left, it looks as though he left everything and everyone. What was he running away from? And is he still running?
Ch.4: Do you think Nick knows that Josie still thinks of the past and isn‘t sure about marrying him, despite her best efforts? How must it feel to guess you‘re second place? ⬇️

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.1. We meet Liam, who‘s definitely not coming across as a great guy. I sure hope he grows on us. But of course he should. This is a romance novel after all and we‘re supposed to like the lead. He‘s about to face his past at the most painful moment when everyone is already raw and emotional. ⬇️

Eve finds herself dealing with good witches and bad witches - as far as she is concerned they‘re all suspect. She meets Isis, the white witch that Alice ran to after her experiences in the dark with Selina. Isis gives Eve a warning and also invites her to their next gathering. Eve and Roarke visit Selina‘s club and speak to Lobar, who confirms her and Alban, her companion‘s, alibi. ⬇️

#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR BK 5 Ch.1-5: we start off at the funeral of a fellow cop and a close friend of Feeney. While there, Eve meets the man‘s granddaughter Alice who asks Eve for a clandestine meeting. Eve is also tasked by her commander to look into the death of the cop which may not have been an accident. In fact, he might have been into something shady. Eve is put in a really tough spot wherein she has to hide things from Feeney. ⬇️

I‘m glad Melody and Jane made up - even though I still don‘t like Melody. I hold a grudge longer than Jane apparently. Too bad Livingston escaped to America. I would have liked him to have gotten his comeuppance.⬇️

#LittensLoveRomance: Ch.25-26: Oy Ethan! You‘re such a mess. But at least when you‘re drunk you‘re honest. Poor Shep. But I love him even more now. And good for Eve. I honestly wouldn‘t have had the guts to turn down Xaria‘s offer. But she‘s finally going after what she wants now.

#Pemberlittens #JaneAdjacent Ch.23-24: Boy, those Dunkirks are…passionate people. They are both set to do something rash. And Jane is determined to stop them. Too bad she runs into that jerk Buffington on the way. I can‘t believe he stands up for Livingston and lies about Jane‘s honour. He and Livingston can go to where the sun doesn‘t shine. How will she get out of this scrape she finds herself in?

#LittensLoveRomance: Ch.23-24: Eve‘s a better person than I am haha. I‘d still be telling Ethan to get his act together. But she‘s doing so much personal growth it‘s kinda great. And then there‘s Shep and things are finally moving forward and there are kisses and it‘s so sweet. What a nice chapter. I can‘t wait to see where we go from here.

#Pemberlittens #JaneAdjacent ch.21-22: well, things are certainly coming to light now! First the sketches of Jane by Vincent and the revelation that she‘s his muse (oh my!) and then we find out who Melody‘s lover is. We also see that Jane is getting stronger in her glamour powers - she‘s a rare talent to only have to read instructions to be able to do it so quickly.

#LittensLoveRomance: Ch.21-22: what a great cathartic hug-fest with Willa. It makes me happy that they‘ve been honest now with each other and are back on track. Although I think Eve feels more for Shep than she let on. It‘s love - not just a crush. Will Willa support her more if she understands it‘s more than just a whim? Is it more than just a whim?

Hello #Pemberlittens friends! I‘ve made the difficult decision to end our #JaneAdjacent buddy reads starting in May. Or at least to end my role in hosting them. I‘ve found recently that I‘ve overcommitted myself on Litsy and in real life and I need to step back. I‘ve so enjoyed our discussions and the books we‘ve chosen that have brought us back into Jane‘s world. If anyone is interested in taking up the mantle, you have my blessing!

#LittensLoveRomance: Ch.17-18: I‘m glad we got to see pregnant dragon lady come out with that jerk Eve ran into. The nerve of him to say those things! I love that she had a little saviour in that old lady. Eve needs to open herself up to the possibility of Shep and be honest with him about what she‘s feeling. It‘s obvious he‘s feeling something too. Friends are not usually so cozy cozy. And now she thinks she loooooooves him - that‘s a big deal⬇️

And now she‘s heartbroken over Livingston and showing it. How Jane can deal with her I‘ll never know haha. I don‘t have a lot of sympathy - can you tell?

It hides her true financial status and in the case of her daughter hides her physical flaws. It‘s clear that Mr. Vincent hates working for her - having to use his art for her gains. What a shame. But I think that has often been the case for artists and their patrons. ⬇️

Ch.11-15: Still convinced there is a connection between the suicides, Eve is even more certain once she comes face to face with a woman who kills herself right in front of her. Eve knows this woman was somehow coerced and begins to worry that it‘s a VR unit that Roarke manufactured that is the culprit. But how can such a thing be possible? ⬇️

#LittensLoveRomance: Ch.15-16: Ethan is entitled to his feelings - but the baser part of me is shouting he‘s a coward! I can‘t believe he hasn‘t checked in with her!? But Shep brought her groceries and these two need to get together so bad! Not just for Eve‘s state of mind - but for mine. Also - only having 12 weeks of maternity leave is so hard - I‘m sorry for any new mom that loses out of extra recovery time and time with their baby.

And then, there‘s Melody. It‘s obvious she‘s talking of captain Livingston. Ooh, what a pig he is! He‘s probably got all sorts of secret engagements with all sorts of girls.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.13-14: What the hell, Ethan!? How can you still be so unsure if you‘re going to be involved? Man, your GF must have you by the —- well, you know. But you‘ve even told your mom! She‘s not going to forget that she has a grandchild out there! Ugh. Frustrated for poor Eve. Ethan needs to man up. Also, I love Nurse Blank.

I worry about Captain Livingston and Melody doing something silly. Not sure what yet…but he spends more time with her then is proper I think and Melody loves the attention. And then to find out he is secretly engaged to Beth! What a cad! ⬇️

#LittensLoveRomance Ch. 11-12: Thousands a month for daycare is crazy. She‘ll need child support for sure. But how to broach that subject? Ethan told his family but stIll acts like he‘s doing something wrong by being at Eve‘s place - he‘s so guilty he jumps to answer his phone when it buzzes. Elodi is going to be a pain in the bum I think. And Eve is so awkward around Shep now - will she be able to come to terms with her new feelings?
