I really didn‘t think I would like this book when it was on @CBee list for #auldlangspine and I might not have read it, but my book group picked it this month so I decided to give it a go and I‘m so glad I did. It will make my top 10 list this year for sure. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I just cannot get this to fit. 17 is The Unhoneymooners and 18-20 are Library Holds. I‘m moving so I‘m a bit discombobulated!

Here‘s to another month of reading! 🥂

This is the third Jane Harper I‘ve read and was my least favorite. I almost bailed at one point, but glad I finished it as I did like the ending. Next up: The Lost Man to wrap up #authoramonth for March.
Think it‘s appropriate to be reading this title as March Madness is all about survivors. Purdue to win it all I hope!

I‘ve given Lauren Groff a the old college try. In the past I‘ve tried three times to read Fates and Furies and bailed every time. I thought I‘d try her again for #authoramonth. I tried both of these, but neither grabbed me. She is just not my cup of tea. Too many books to read to struggle through on those that aren‘t enjoyable. #Hailthebail

New author for me and I loved this one. Old secrets abound. I‘ll definitely be reading her backlist!

It‘s messy, but I got it done!

Finishing this one up while I wait for my daughter in physical therapy. It‘s in the 50‘s here in Minnesota in January! I have my window down!
It‘s so hard to believe this was written before COVID! Another good one from auldlangspine list I got from @CBee There are so many more of yours I want to read so I will be sprinkling them in all year.

This is the first Jane Austen book I have ever read. I didn‘t realize it was her last. I loved Anne, but it seemed much longer than 257 pages. I had good intentions of reading more, but ran out of time this month.

My first #auldlangspine read from @CBee ‘s list! I loved this book because it told Ansel Parker‘s execution story through the women involved in his life. Even though you know how it ends it was still riveting. ( Yes, I‘m supposed to be working, but I had to finish this one. 😜)

I had to stop reading Fourth Wing and read this one because it needs to go back to the library before it turns into a pumpkin. Arghhh! I didn‘t get the spa scenes at all, but I plugged along because I wanted to know how it would end. I doubt I‘ll be running out to read her backlist. 🤣🤣🤣

@CBee This list is fantastic! I got lucky again this year. I‘ve read Signal Fires and Clover and I enjoyed them and if I had listed 20 they probably would have made my list too. I bailed on Bandit Queens. 😫 I will probably read the rest of your list throughout the year. I‘ll start with what I can get from my library and my TBR shelves.

I‘m a sucker for a good family drama full of secrets so this was a definite pick for me. Coincidentally, I‘ve been reading several books with afterlife plots. Maybe because a book group of mine read Pema Choedron‘s book How You Live is How You Die recently. A wise woman once told me “Everthing is connected!” #tob24

The crimes were gruesome in this one, but I‘ve read some twisted stuff in the past and so it didn‘t put me off that much. Sheriff Titus is flawed and a bit broken, but I fell a little bit in love with him and couldn‘t help rooting for him. I think this is Cosby‘s best so far. #tob24

I had read all Peter Geye‘s books and didn‘t know this one existed until someone on Litsy ( I can‘t remember who said this one was her favorite.). I concur, I loved it! September reading wrap up. Other highlights: The Collected Regrets of Clover and When Women Were Dragons.

I have a super busy weekend. Two softball games, one football game in Iowa on Saturday and the Minnesota State Fair on Sunday, but I have book group on Monday night so I must finish this book. That‘s my modest goal for this readathon.

Can‘t sleep again so I‘m diving into this one. When I was younger my kids kept me up, now it‘s 2 nights no sleep and one night good sleep. At least I have my books to distract me. 😴😴😴

Here is what I finished or bailed on this month. Very so-so month except for The Border and Yellowface.

I can‘t believe tomorrow is August 1st! My mom will turn 80 years old and here‘s what I‘ll be trying to read.

I‘m struggling with this book so I thought I‘d hit the porch at CoffeeSmith and see if some treats and a beautiful morning could help me enjoy this book.

These two shelves are my #bookspin choices in order (1-20) for July. Lots of carry over from last month, but I‘m trying to read down the books on my shelves. I have to move next spring again so I don‘t want a ton of books to move.

Very mediocre reading month… The best were Blacktop Wasteland, The Housemaid and Any Other Family. My book spin and double Bookspin we‘re just okay.

Here is how I‘ll be spending a good portion of our week at the cabin. I justify this big bag full because of #hailthebail! You just never know. 😝

There are a few really good ones here, but The Covenant of Water just stole the show. Black Cake is excellent as is Beyond That, The Sea and We Are Not Like Them and of course Fresh Water for Flowers. Excellent reading month and 5 Bingos!

I‘m already predicting that CoV will be my book of 2023. It‘s gonna take quite a book to beat it in my mind.

This is my idea of heaven…..a beautiful morning with the birds singing and me and a book soooo good. I‘m 300 pages in (almost halfway and I already give it 5 stars!). Happy Sunday Littens! I haven‘t cut the hangers off my plants yet but I will after I finish this book! 🤪

Good enough to keep reading, but it wasn‘t good enough to be a pick for me. Too predictable for me, but a good commentary on the power of social media and how it can take you down just as quick as it builds you up. This was my #bookspin book as well.

Almost a blackout for the month! I blame the cold weather for allowing me to hole up at home with a book many days. Not sure spring is ever coming here 😏. Maybe this week we may see some 60 degree days.

The choices are getting harder and harder to make. It‘s shaping up to be a great book year. 😍

This is number two in the trilogy. I think The Power of the Dog was better. I wonder what it says about me that I would keep turning the pages (over 600) on a book so violent and just downright nasty??
However, in my defense I‘m learning a lot about the real “war on drugs”. I will definitely be finishing this trilogy in May with The Border.
