This book was a mess but the beginning was really promising so it kept me reading. I kinda wish I'd given up though.

I'm in the Dolomites during an icy December and something monstrous is afoot
@Cupcake12
This was insightful and sad and funny and uncomfortable and hopeful. I loved it.
I'm spending the morning planning out my holiday baking; checking to see if there are recipes in here that I want to add to my usual baking plan. 🍪
I met my goal for the year 😊🎉
It's finally the weekend! Now I can read and enjoy the crazy snowfall we've gotten the last few days. 😊❄️
The author having one of his characters reading (and hyping!) one of his own books made me laugh
I received the books from you today, Sarah. 💜 AND I got the others sent to you, Denise. 🩷 @TheAromaofBooks @Jerdencon

Sunday morning ahhhhh 😍
In a turn of events that's become unusual recently, I actually finished my planned book yesterday! So today I'm back into this one.
(Go Broncos! 🤞🏻🏈🐴)
I'm caught up. I can barely believe there are only 2 months left. 🙀
I'm hoping to finish TNOD today, then hopefully move on to The Husbands, but that's only if my brain cooperates. I might have to reread something I've read a bajillion times instead. #interestingtimes
I've been meaning to read Time And Again for ages so it's nice to get a push in that direction from it being my #BookSpin. My #DoubleSpin is "nonfiction." At the moment I'm thinking this one but that might change.
@TheAromaofBooks
I struggled to read this month. Hoping November works better for me. ??
The tagged is my "favorite" not in the sense of enjoyment but because I'll be thinking of this for a long time.
A comfort reread🐙 (I'm finding it hard to read new books. My brain wants to read things it already knows it loves, for some strange reason)
In a completely unrelated message 🙄: everyone, please vote! 🗳

I'm in a ficticious world. I'm only in the first chapter but I already love the interaction between Evie and The Villian.

This introvert has been socializing a lot lately (ie: too much 😵💫) I fell behind on my #FallJamboreeDoodles so here's a catch up post. Along with my costumed flamingos mug. 😁

I'm calling this an excellent read because I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since I finished a few days ago and I'm confident I'll be thinking about for a long time. The state of the world, and the live/work concept of Cloud, feel all too plausible, which is alarming. However, I wish the book had ended differently. This was probably the "right"ending as this isn't a feel good book but I'm a sucker for a happy ending. ?♀️

I'm in one of the MotherClouds, a work/ live concept of the near future 😬

The author did a good job of focusing my attention in the wrong direction so I was completely surprised by the twist. Still, the female MC was such a ding-a-ling I (almost) would have been fine with her getting bumped off. A soft pick but not enough to search out more by this author.
I'm having my tea from another fun seasonal mug while I start this dystopian read that I suspect is going to sound only too plausible. 😬 #mugsoflitsy

Outside, to my delight, it is 43° and drizzly. Inside, one of my favorite seasonal mugs and a story that, while not seasonal, is shaping up to be creepy.
I liked Cassie's journey of healing the from the demise of her marriage and I enjoyed the descriptions of the town as well as the friends she made. But I wanted more details about her ancestors. While she learned a lot I want to know more: the big mystery was about what happened to her family after they left that town in 1911 but, while we find out where they went, we don't learn anything about their lives after that. Soft pick. Spoilers below.
This was interesting. It takes a close look at DNA technology and what it means for people and families. She talks about the good parts but spends a lot of time on people who learn unexpected things and what it means for those people and their families. It also delves into ways DNA can be misused or used in ways people don't expect when they send in their sample.

I can't wait to read the 60s version to compare the stories because this was WILD! Child- me would have found this story utterly thrilling, I'm sure. 😂
