Finally got to my November #TravelingThrills book 😂 I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It's not super fast-paced - definitely more suspense than thriller - but I liked the MC so much that I didn't mind. The back and forth between past and present chapters felt balanced and even though there were some aspects of the grand reveal that left me scratching my head a bit (a side character's motivations/methods seemed like a bit of stretch), I'll still be ⬇

The descriptive language used painted a beautiful picture of the wilderness and all that comes with it. It seemed to me that the author has a lot of knowledge about the area and the type of life lived by the characters. I also liked the idea of the dual timeline, bringing the past and the present together. The plot was such a slow burn; nothing thrilling happened until the novel was almost over, making it more of a drama and less of a thriller.

I'm hoping to finish TNOD today, then hopefully move on to The Husbands, but that's only if my brain cooperates. I might have to reread something I've read a bajillion times instead. #interestingtimes

I just finished this book and absolutely loved it! I would love to see more of Emlyn and Varden but it's also tied up in a way that doesn't leave you hanging.

#whereareyoumonday is in the wilds of Idaho tracking, fishing, hiking, escaping from bad guys. It's a real trek!

This book was not what I thought it would be. I could not connect with what the book was saying. It turned out to be quite boring so I could not even finish reading it. I heard her other books were good so I thought I would try it. I don‘t think it‘s her writing that is so bad, I think the subject matter is the main item. Some people I noticed did like the book.

I think the core of the story may have been there — a woman goes into the forest w/ her ex to search for her friend who may have disappeared under suspicious circumstances — but there was just a lot keeping me from really liking this. I wanted less chapters about Emlyn‘s past (many didn‘t move the plot forward), more suspense & mystery (I loved the few moments where they popped up), and better research done on subjects such as tracking & Oxy use.
