A nice, quick page turner with an unreliable narrator. A woman is hired as a housekeeper for a wealthy family as things go off rails as secrets and lies are exposed on this psychological thriller.

I am addicted to Freida McFadden‘s amazing psychological thrillers. A former coworker/friend and I have been discussing our love for her books for the past few months. My friend is always raving about the Housemaid series, along with the rest of the reading world, so I finally made it a priority to start reading The Housemaid. It‘s so creepy and diabolical! I loved it!!

I LOVED this book. I kind of guessed a single aspect of the ending but honestly I was still very surprised. I think I finished the book in about 3 days, which is very fast for me especially since I‘m in college. Overall I highly recommend this book if you want something that will keep you hooked and is an easy read
The Housemaid by Freida McFadden. Reread. 9,2/10 rating
This was an exciting read. Full of twists.
Look forward to rest of series.

This book was so hard to stomach, but the story was so addicting. For anyone who has suffered from spousal abuse or abuse in general, I would not recommend reading this book.
I didn't understand why this was so hard to find out in the wild. There were no digital copies. My bestie needed it for her book club. Somehow I ended up with 2 of them. So I guess I lost this round of chicken and actually read it. I approve. Read it. If you can find a copy.

🎧📖 At first I found this book to be a bit boring, and then outright cringy. But once the twist kicked in I was fully on board.
5⭐️ I picked the book up due to seeing the third book in the series being prominent in a number of book groups on Facebook. I was really surprised that I really enjoyed it. I think it was because it just it was an interesting story and was very riveting. #2024 #fiction #psycologicalthriller #contempoary
This was a good one! Fast paced, kept my interest and had a satisfying ending. Already started the sequel and hope it‘s as good 👍
Fun, entertaining and fast paced thriller. It had me turning the pages. A little bit cringeworthy at times but there were some great twists and I loved the ending. I read this with my online reading group, https://thereadingloft.groups.io/g/main.

This is what I am planning to read over the weekend; I‘m very close to finishing The Demon of Unrest and should have it done in the next day or two. I just started The Housemaid on Friday evening and it‘s definitely a book that I will be reading while it‘s light out. The other two books I will probably mostly from. #weekendreads

Today‘s Prompt: DARK BLUE
Every day, Millie cleans the Winchester's beautiful house.
But the Winchesters don't know who she really is .
They don't know what she is capable of...
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was so good. I was originally going to give it 3 stars, but I decided not because it turned out to be awesome. My problem with the book was that the main character did not defend herself when her boss, Nina, treated her badly. Now I understand why Nina treated her that way, and for that, I give the book 5 stars. It deserves 5 stars. I am satisfied with how the story ended. It ended the way it should have.
I am late to the kindle game, did not think I would like reading on a device. Turns out I love it. It‘s so convenient. Really enjoyed this book. Onto the next one.
Freida McFadden smashed this out of the park! I absolutely devoured this in a day. Quick chapters packed with suspense and main characters you're really cheering on the sidelines for.
I did see the twist coming, but I still enjoyed the ride! Verity meets Gone Girl.
I absolutely LOVED this book! If you haven‘t read this yet, it‘s a must read! The way Freida pulled the story line all together is mind blowing, I closed the book at the end and said “yes ma‘am that‘s a good book”!!
Really enjoyable! Lots of twists and an outcome I didn't see coming.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ So much gaslighting. Parolee Millie lands a position working for a wealthy family. Is “housemaid” even a common term? Is it regional, or? Anyway, it‘s evident pretty quickly that you can‘t trust any of these fools. Lots of very stupid choices are made. McFadden‘s writing is mediocre at best, but the story is entertaining enough to keep going. Acceptable poolside reading. I think I‘ll out check out book two.
A domestic thriller filled with abuse, revenge, and murder. An engaging story filled with a few twists - although I found a number of plot holes. Great for folks new to this genre and has a little something for veterans too. Overall, it‘s a good fast-paced read. Audible narration is clear but relatively unexciting.
I was a little worried that this wouldn‘t live up to the hype but it totally did! It was an unputdownable book that was deliciously twisty! I can‘t wait to get my hands on the next two!!
Freida McFadden is perfect poolside reading. That‘s my hubs in the hat. 🩷 Our boys are swimming!
Apparently someone doesn‘t want me to be reading right now!
This is such a strangely compelling book. It isn‘t by any means a stunning piece of literature, but it is one that you won‘t want to put down.
The twists and turns in this book will shock you. Definitely one that will make for an excellent movie.
Go ahead and listen. The narrator does an excellent job.
Now i‘m off to learn this Housemaid‘s secrets 🤪
Prior to The Housemaid, I had read 2 McFadden books - one I liked and one I didn't.
This book breaks the tie. I loved it!
A quick page-turner that kept me riveted from start to finish.
I liked this book. It was a twisty psychological thriller. Many of my friends have talked about it so I jumped on the bandwagon. Frieda McFadden is a new author to me but I plan to read more of her books.
This book definitely has a similar plot to a very popular book, but won‘t say to avoid spoilers. Although aspects of it were different. It was fast-paced & intense. A couple of things I felt were convenient at the end, but otherwise a very good read! I‘m eager to read the next book in this series!
This was alright, I just didn‘t like it as much as “never lie” I found the characters extremely unlikeable and found it a bit predictable
I got done with this book, and my spouse asked me how it was. I said it was cute, there was torture, and I could see it being made into a movie without much modification. "I don't plan on reading it, so don't worry about spoiling it for me," he said, encouraging me to say more. I shrugged. "I don't like it enough to say more." If I loved it or hated it, I'd have more to say. As our teen son says, this one was mid.
So, here's a Zion NP waterfall.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Freida #3 This was fun! She writes some wild plots and I‘m here for them. I know this one is popular and I can see why. It was very twisty, as expected. I usually try and keep it spoiler free, but I was happy when Nina‘s sadistic husband dehydrated to death in the attic after ripping his own teeth out 😃 I can‘t imagine how this is a trilogy? But I think I‘m gonna read it lol
I loved the concept of this thriller if not the writing itself. I figured out the who pretty early but not the how and why, so I read it in one afternoon!
Light pick…the writing was less than stellar - how many times McFadden repeats the same thing over and over got on my nerves - but the thrill of the story kept me reading and the various twists. And the end - wow! I can see why she has become extremely popular, with long waiting lists for her books at the libraries. Fast read that left me gasping in parts. #52BookClub24 #AnAuthorEveryoneHasRead
Self-care was high on the priority list today. I think I took in all the feels as I was making my way through this nutty book! A few times I wanted to shout out “Millie are you crazy”!
Millie. Millie, Millie!! I would have ran right after Nina gave me a tour of the house. Oh and I think I‘m obsessed with this book light. Shoutout to my sister for feeding into my addiction with books and all things books.
I don't think I've ever experienced a book that in spite of having such bad writing, kept me turning the pages 😳. Weak sentence construction, filled with cliches, cringy dialogue, and highly predictable thanks to the author signaling plot twists early...and yet I poured through it in a night. I am at a loss to explain it 😂.
Absolutely chilling 🥶😱, just what I love and expect from a thriller. After finishing I wanted to borrow more McFadden books from the library and they‘re all checked out!! She is popular!!

This is a bonkers good time of a mystery thriller. I‘m glad I picked it up due to the buzz around it, but I didn‘t know any details so nothing was spoiled for me. If you like fast paced, unhinged Eat the Rich/ Good for Her thrillers, this is for you! 4.5⭐️
