A decent start to this series. A princess trapped in a tower befriends her dragon guardian and sets it to free other tower-bound royalty. Good idea, but the writing isn't blowing me away. About half of issue three was spent on the joke that most women's armor in fantasy is impractical, which could have been related in a couple pages. Not sure if I'll continue. #comicscount

This series continues to be fun and in-your-face series about girls saving themselves. There are some particularly fun fairy tale tropes poked fun at in this one

Fun take on the traditional fairy tale. I think my favorite parts are at the beginning when Adrienne sets up the story by calling the “princess trapped in a tower rescued by a prince” story hogwash and full of plot holes, and the woman warrior armor she is forced to wear before submitting that it is not exactly practical to only have her chest protected. 😂 Super cute and funny.

Not book related but we got to see prince‘s home in Turks and Caicos today. 😢

I didn't think I'd enjoy this as much as I did! The characters are well written and there are some fun Easter eggs for adults. I can't wait to see what happens in volume 2.

#TBR selections for this month! By saying this, I probably seal the deal that what I read will be a completely different list. But I like to have goals.

Anyone else getting super excited for AwesomeCon? My badges came in yesterday! There are going to be several comic authors there whose work I've enjoyed, including the authors of Princeless and March! (Not to mention the Doctor Who panel I'm DYING to see!)

This is the third volume of this series and it introduces a but of spinoff with the Pirate Princess, Raven. Raven is different and I love seeing her and Adrienne work through their differences. I'm definitely going to be checking it out.

I absolutely adore this series! We meet one of her sisters and are introduced to the mysterious Black Knight in this volume.

I feel like the art looks different from the first one, but still an enjoyable romp!

Fun comic that challenges traditional gender roles in fairy tales. Both the princess and prince question their designated roles to great effect. I will definitely be checking out more volumes of this one.

This is Lumberjanes in medieval times with a spunky princess, an adorable half-dwarf girl blacksmith, and the best dragon sidekick any girl could ask for.
I NEED more NOW.

This was a really fun, humorous, and quick read during my lunch break earlier today. I would love to see it in movie form! Looking forward to reading more of Adrienne and Bedelia's adventures.

This comic had me laughing out loud (especially during the attempt to buy female "armor"). This is a fun story, with a sometimes hilarious feminist perspective. If you like Lumberjanes or the type of humor in the panel above, this might be for you. Just finished the first volume and it was awesome. Adrienne is a #kickassheroine. The comic has a really entertaining way of having Adrienne question everything, especially those things in life that feminism talks about like women as sexual objects, gendered expectations that we put on our children, and catcalling. Okay so this comic? So ace. I LOVE IT. Jesus I wish I had this kind of lit in my life when I was younger--maybe I would've had my intersectional feminist awakening earlier if I did. Feminist lit featuring WOC like this is sooooo important for girls of every demographic, especially since lit might be their only way to learn about the importance of feminism and diversity in their lives. Love it. Show your girls. They need this kind of rhetoric.

Not even ten pages into this and I am OBSESSED. This princess takes no shit, be it racism or the cult of the mfckn patriarchy. Where was this biblical piece of writing when I was younger?

Book two complete and I am still finding this series entertaining.

Just finished book two and placed a hold on books 3 and 4. I am so lovin' this series. The graphics are great and I am so thrilled to see black characters.
