This was so much more than anticipated. Not my typical genre, so I was hesitant. But, the depth and range of emotions that the author both explores in her characters and elicited in me as a reader kept me hooked almost from page 1. It's part thriller, part mystery, part psychological drama, part family story, part horror...and part humor. Sally is a complex character, and the story of her parentage becomes more & more horrific as it is revealed.
