This was a good audio. I didn't love it. Felt a bit predictable. But.. it did serve its purpose and kept me pretty entertained.

Just like this picture - I am all about coffee! ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️

Got a good chunk of this one in today. I'm at work - (not going to say the “q” or “c” word). But… I think I could have finished this is my earpods didn't die 😥

This was another solid whodunnit by McFadden. It kept me guessing, but lacked some of the usual intensity that would ordinarily have me going back and forth and questioning myself on who I thought the culprit was. With this #audiobook read I found myself surprised by and appreciating the big reveal, yet felt the story as a whole lacked some of the usual shock factors.

Is it just me or does anyone else find it HIGHLY annoying with the number of characters that are so pigheaded and selfish? Meaning, so many of the books I've read lately have characters that are so self interested and whenever there is anything that goes awry between them and their prospective love interest they get all pissy and storm off. ⤵️

monkeygirlsmama ⤴️They don't give the other person a chance to explain. They don't see that they themselves are doing the exact same thing they're accusing the other person of. I know. I know. It's for tension and drama, and unfortunately probably all too like real life. BUT... It drives me crazy! 🤣😝 4mo

So this may not be the best thriller ever, but it‘s a fun book that will entertain you. A surgeon with a serial killer dad…I‘m sure you can fill in the blanks. It‘s not a complex story, slightly predictable, but it is entertaining! Oh, and the main character will do many things that will make you say “this lady is making some dumb choices.” Also, there is a loyal stray cat in this story who deserves her own perspective chapter. A fair summer read.

Terrible. The terrible is compounded by the narrator which is the worst I‘ve listened to so far. Overly dramatic and breathy yet strangely flat. Irritating.

For those littens who haven't read Freida McFadden, I started "reading" her audiobooks in March, and I haven't been disappointed. So far, I've read the tagged book, The Perfect Son, and Do Not Disturb. Recommend if you're up for some fast-paced thriller-esque-type reads. I also read #thehousemaid on my Kindle (which wasn't part of the #readyourkindle challenge) but is included in my goal to read more Kindle books. Happy Fri-YAY!!

Riveting and twisty🖤❤️🖤 Surgeon Nora Davis‘s secret prevents her from having relationships or children - her dad is in prison with 18 consecutive life sentences. But when copycat murders start occurring among her patients, Nora‘s life becomes a nightmare 😱

I read this back in early March. I really liked this one! This was my 2nd of McFadden‘s books I‘ve read & I love them! I didn‘t see the twist coming on this one! If you want a quick paced thriller with big twists then I definitely recommend this book!

Freida McFadden is fast becoming one of my faves. Her books, at least the ones I have read, have kept me interested from the first page. In 'The Locked Door,' Nora Davis is a surgeon, but she has a secret she hopes no one finds out. The only problem, someone knows her secret. Whoever it is is setting her up to take the wrap. If she tells her secret, what will others think? Who is setting her up? 4.5⭐

Another book by Freida McFadden that was so good I finished it in about 24 hours. The only negative was the narrator. Her narration was a bit harsh and stiff. Otherwise, I highly recommend this book.

When Nora was 11, her father went to jail for murdering young women. Years later there‘s a copycat killer who may be setting her up to take the fall. Lots of suspects and an ending I didn‘t see coming makes this a pick.

EadieB As long as they don‘t look in her basement. This is another great book by Freida McFadden. I found all the characters to be well-drawn. The plot was one that kept me reading until the very surprised ending. The killer wasn't in my sights at all. I love the short chapters in the book. I am now looking forward to reading another book by Freida McFadden. Love her books! If you like psychological thriller books then you will love this book. 1y

I “liked” a tiktok recommending this thriller the other day and now all my fyp is all booktoks for creepy/mysterious/scary books. I‘m not complaining but… it‘s gonna be sm work to look for other book content/recs so my feed is diverse 😩 plus, it‘s gonna cost me a lot of money bc I‘m a sucker and MUST. BUY. ALL. BOOKS.

Anyways, this was good! Gimme your book tiktok recs if you‘ve got ‘em! 💗

Book 97🎧 3.1⭐️

Some good twists in this one but the narration didn‘t do it for me, it came across a bit juvenile, or it‘s the writing.

But a good middle of the road thriller.

Nora Nierling is the daughter of a serial killer. She grew up, became a surgeon, and worked hard to distance herself from her father and what he did. Then, 2 women are killed in the same way her father used to murder his victims so she must figure out what is going on. I read this for book club and it was fine. There was a twist at the end that I did not expect but otherwise the writing was pretty average.

This author never disappoints! I “knew” who was responsible for the copycat killings of her dad, a serial killer called “the Handyman” several times but I was wrong!! She always has a major twist or two and she is becoming an auto buy author for me! I could have read this in a day, but we had too much to do. Thank you @cinda.marie !! I already have someone I‘m planning on sending this to later today! #LitsyLove members be on the lookout 👀! 🌞 🌵

2¾⭐I don‘t get how this has so many 5-star ratings. I don‘t know if it was the narrator or the mediocre writing…but I really wasn‘t into this. It wasn‘t so horrible that I couldn‘t finish…but it almost was. The ending was its only saving grace…I didn‘t see that coming at all. Despite my issues, I will give this author another try with her latest, The Housemaid, which everyone is raving about to see if she will work for me.⬇⬇⬇

AudiobookingWithLeah I did notice that everyone's reviews on Audible were commenting on the crappy narration…so I‘m not alone in my feelings on that aspect. 2y

Her father was a serial killer. But she's not like her father. Or is she?

If you think this is a Nature vs. Nurture story, you're wrong. It's a Nature + Nurture story. And it was clear to me in chapter 2 when the MC said she was a surgeon and from then on repeated that she definitely wasn't like her father. 🙄

Add bland writing and I gave up during chapter 8.

I‘m really enjoying how she writes! It‘s about a women who when she is younger her father was a serial killer who would lock them in the basement and obviously murder them! Now he‘s in jail! Nora is older and a surgeon who saves lives but nobody knows who she really is the daughter of a famous serial killer! The killings start happening again in the same way! Someone figured out who she is! Or is she the killer! And the twist 🙌🏻 🌟🌟🌟
