Last book read in January. Magical realism is not at all my thing🤷🏽♀️But I wanted to read this book because I heard amazing things about this author writing style and comments were correct. Besides the magical realism there are so many other things happening in this story beautifully written: about love, friendship, second chances for Mabel and Jack, family dynamics full with love and respect, love to nature, parenting relations.⬇️
I liked the idea of this story, should I say a retelling? A female Sherlock Holmes. I didn‘t know what to expect of this book before I read it. But the was in love with the cover😍it ends that I liked the mystery, the characters the plot. That person was terrible, can‘t say without spoiler the book🤐What I say is I have already book #2👌
Great choice @Staycurious #Pemberlittens #JaneAdjacent 3/3.5⭐️
Story is around the pandemic time so I had my flashbacks😳The story goes back and forth during these 56 days without a chronological order and from different perspectives. I liked that. A body is found in one apartment. It seems that the victim was someone who‘s identity was protected. Then the story goes back and forth knowing the characters, circumstances with many twists until we know what really happened. The end? It‘s a little bit open⬇️
First time I read a book by this author, can you believe it?😳I have this book since 2018 thinking that I would not like it...but...
This book is intense and has the trigger of domestic violence. It is very explicit in the physical and psychological abuse. I will say this part was clinically well described. Also it was symptoms related with PTSD were well described.
Ernt and Cora married very young, Cora was 15 or 16 and Ernt was 25.⬇️

This story is two time line: in the present 2020, Sandra, a famous singer in a band, wants to take sometime for herself after her divorce with Olivia. Her manger found her a place in the peninsule coast. She goes by incognito, to this hotel called Hotel Paris. There, Sandra feels strange sensations, eerie atmosphere and hears a song. She decides to follow the song, to see where it comes from⬇️
These are my two English editions. Do I need more editions? Of course I NEED more beautiful editions😂The gorgeous hardback😍was from @mabel during a Jane Austen swap. The print came as part of the decoration but I saved it. I think the mug was also from @mabel
Another Jane Austen novel that I enjoyed. Both editions have an introduction that helps to understand the historical events surrounding the novel topic, I liked the characters and plot⬇️
Different reaction as an adult but full of good nostalgic memories. I liked these covers. So good to start from book 1 to remember how everything started. As I say, it was viewed from another perspective. Now I think how a middle age child will think about Nancy, who is 18 years old? Have you try these books with younger persons? Do they still read these stories in a world full of technology? Have you recommended these books to your children? ⬇️
I have these two editions one in English and one in Spanish. Do I need other editions? Nope. Am I going to buy other editions? Yes! Obviously😂I know I will re-read these books. I don‘t have time for re-reads but I will make a space...before I die😳🤣
I enjoy all these gossips about Susan. It was like been active in social media but through letters😂Scandals, discrimination, gossips, famous characters due to their lifestyles.⬇️
