This weekend is the start of my major reading season, and my and the boyfriend's anniversary (11 years and we haven't killed each other...yet)! #SciFiSummer is going strong until the Autumnal Equinox, but #RIP starts on the 1st, which is also #BackToHogwarts day. I also signed up for the #WhatTheDickens #BuddyRead of David Copperfield. My goal is simple: read when I can and as much as I can #ForTheLoveofBooks #readathon hosted by @TheSpineView

This is always my least favorite book of the series, but this time I appreciated seeing Harry‘s first trip to the Burrow. I love how he immediately feels at home and makes Ron understand that he shouldn‘t be embarrassed by it. Fawkes is the other highlight. Harry would have been killed in an instant without him. It‘s also the book where Harry feels confident (at the end) about his placement in Gryffindor.

KadaGul Look 👀 @ the puppy 🐶 face 😍 2mo
Jess861 This is also my least favourite...I don't feel like the story moves forward too much in this one.....and just big spiders 😬😬 2mo

Seabreeze_Reader @avidreader25 @jess861 I recently listened to this again on audio and it still remains my least fav book in the series, too. Some aspects of the story that don't make sense, like Ron and Harry flying the car to Hogwarts. Ron's parents could have made sure they made it through the platform. Plus, Dumbledore always seems to disappear right before some big showdown. There are a lot of coincidences which allows the plot to slowly move forward. #imho 2mo
AvidReader25 @Seabreeze_Reader oh my goodness, yes! And once you read it after having kids, you start thinking how is this school allowed? This is incredibly dangerous for kids! 🤣 why couldn‘t Dumbledore have shared more information and helped everyone out in every single book! 2mo
AvidReader25 @Jess861 yup, I always feel like I have to get through this one in order for the series to start. 2mo

It was the summer before first grade and I caught my son sitting on the floor reading the tagged book with his nightlight. He was itty bitty and so cute. I had to make him go to bed but how do you punish a kid just starting to read with his nightllight? Loved this comic for that reason

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Perhaps the early book most connected to the ones that come later in the series, it was fun to point out all the moments of “oh that will be important!” as we did the first half of our drive home from FL to IL.
It‘s been great to revisit so many loved characters & places.

1. No. My husband has tried to teach me at least once a year for the last 14 years but I just can't seem to get the timing right on releasing the clutch.
2. I could only think of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The Ford Anglia was featured a few times.

As I was going through my list if books I live, very few have cars in them. They walk, use spaceships, horses, ship, etc. 😄

1) I learned to drive on a stick shift. My favorite manual driving experience was an old truck with the stick on the column. It was a blast to drive.

2) Tagged. I love driving so having a magic flying car would be the pinnacle.

Tagging everyone!

Did some hiking today with my youngest since this is her fall break & I had the day off work. We are all a bit sad that the beach wasn‘t in the cards for us this year so we decided on this fun nature walk/rock climbing adventure today! The drive was 1.5hrs each way so we loved listening to HP2 all the way there and back! I love that she is so into HP now! Especially since she‘ll turn 11 this year 😏

TheAromaofBooks I started reading these when I think four or five of them had been published. I was housesitting for a friend and had the week off. She lived near the Columbus Metropolitan Library, which is quite large, and I started my week by visiting there, and picked up the first book on a whim to see what all the fuss was about. I ended up going to the library every day to get the next book! 😂 I was completely hooked. 1y

Hi Litsy Fam I wanted to ask your opinion on reading. My boyfriend and I have been debating on whether Audiobooks are still considered reading. He believes listing to audiobooks is not considered a form of reading because you are not the pages if a book. Would you mind sharing your opinions on this?

Much appreciated 😌

DGRachel Audiobooks are a form of reading - it‘s another way to absorb a story and one that opens books up to people who are visually impaired or may have other challenges that make reading a physical book impossible. 1y
julesG I agree with what @DGRachel wrote. It's definitely reading. 1y
Deblovestoread Definitely reading! 1y
Quirkybookworm Put it this way, if you‘re reading a book out loud to kids, what do you call that? 1y

Harry is a young wizard going for his second year at Hogwarts School of Wizardry. His school year starts with a near death incident when Harry and Ron try to fly an invisible car to Hogwarts. After a little while, the whole school comes to the realization that the chamber of secrets has been opened, an ancient chamber found deep in the school. Harry then has to fight for his life against Voldemort and his evil serpent .

Javin.VandenDungen You would like this book if you like fantasy books and are really looking for any book to binge read.
A theme in this book is teamwork. Ron, Hermione and Harry all stick close together throughout the whole book, and only in this way were they able to accomplish they‘re ultimate goal.

Been reading so slowly these past few months, but I just had to share these really cute (and also stunning) magnetic bookmarks I got recently. 😍🐍✨

I've always wanted the Hogwarts textbooks as bookmarks, and these appeared on my IG feed one day. 👀

One other thing I love seeing in this community is other readers' bookmarks. 😃

Speculative fiction. This is the second book in the Harry Potter series. It is about Harry's second year at Hogwarts and it is just as exciting as the first. Again the book really brings you into the world that has been created and you feel like you yourself are a part of the story.
