Back to non-fiction for a bit
Finished the 7th book and didn‘t want the story to end - Hopefully this isn‘t a disappointment!
Number 5! I‘m so glad I decided to start reading this series.
Perfect day to start number 3!
Better late than never I suppose!
The semester is winding down & so I can get back to my choice of reads 😎📖
You do sometimes sit and wonder why it wasn‘t you, what makes you so special that you get to be safe. The world doesn‘t make much sense.
That‘s womanhood, I suppose, both craving and feeling repulsed by attention.
Picked this up today from a lock bookshop! Hoping it will help me practice mindfulness more often ☀️
I am looking forward to reading both of these. I have become much more open and OK with talking about my mental health. But there is so much more for me to learn.
I‘m going back to school!! I will, of course, try to keep up with my fictional fun reading but otherwise this is the material I will be diving into… I am very scared and also very excited. Wish me luck!!
This book belongs to my partner and was recommended to him by his boss. It's been on our shelf for awhile so I'm gonna give it a try! Sounds like a good read for this point in my life. Any thoughts on this one? 🏍
This has been a slow read (as I think it should be) - I've been on this journey of practicing self-compassion for a long time. It is something I practice alone and during my therapy sessions. I am proud of each and everyone of you who is getting through each day- You got this! It takes time & practice but we feel best when we love ourselves - our bodies & minds included. ☀️
I need some fun & comfort in my life - this story was recommended 💖💫
I got this book as a gift - I'd never heard of it but it sounds so cool. I am excited to start this adventure! 🌟🌠
Review: I definitely recommend this book! Especially if you are going through a hard time and are having trouble seeing the positive parts of life. This book will give you a new perspective on life and it's very readable.
Such a beautiful cover 🌟
Review: Not my favorite of hers but still very glad I read it. Definitely drags in some places but she always has a way of bringing it all together. Now I've read all her work! Tana French is wonderful.
A woman trying to take her life into her own hands. A woman trying to do something different, something more for herself, despite the odds. Despite the hand she has been dealt.
My first read of Roxane Gay's 💖
(Don't mind the cinnamon floating in my coffee 😂)
My calm area featuring all my journals & coffee with whipped cream 😌
Starting this one because it was recommended by my therapist. Happy mental health day 🧡
Had a good session with my therapist today • It's time I worked on more self improvement & self compassion 🖤
Transitioning into Autumn, getting back into Tana French & the Murder Squad 👍
I started this book a couple times last year, never getting too far into it. But recently I started seeing buzz about it and, seeing it sitting on my shelf, figured I'd try it again, zipping through it this time. There's a time and a place, I believe. Anyway, definitely a recommended read!
~ Especially for nature lovers. Such beautiful descriptions of the marsh & its creatures ☆
We must educate ourselves. Never stop learning.
Please do yourself a favor & read this!
~ new read on my new rug 📖
Update: I am going to try this one again another time. I just couldn't keep up with it this time around.
I started this my junior year of college but never finished it. Now's our time ~
Update: It appears I am not the biggest fan of Jennifer Egan's writing. I like The Keep okay but her others I've struggled to enjoy. It's probably just all going over my head 🤯
My brother shipped this book to me. He found it in the basement of my grandparents' house. I probably came across this book a hundred times when I was younger, digging through their basement books, not knowing it would become such a meaningful gift to me later in life.
This has been on my list for a long time -- I used to beat myself up about being behind on reading certain books, but I believe books come into your life for a reason, at certain a time. Or maybe that's just my excuse... Anyway, looking forward to this read!
I can't get through this one. The protagonist is awfully annoying. It seemed like a fun read, given to me by my grandma, but I don't think I can spend anymore time with it.
I've been a fan of Michael Pollan for a long time. This is a must read!
