Thank you so much @BethM for my new books and the M&M‘s for the All Hallows Read Swap. I can‘t wait to dive into these two books.

Sorry for the late post @TheKidUpstairs - this book was a great pick for our buddy read. It had everything I needed. I think I should have done this as an audio book so I can enjoy ice cream while enjoying every aspect of this mystery. I think I might continue the series - I really Enjoyed Win, felt slow in the beginning but I give it 4 out of 5. Suggest for a sweater weather for sure #fallread #poc #bipoc #sweaterweather #mystery #foodie
Hey @Blerdgal_Fenix I know I'm late, but I'm really enjoying this cozy mystery! It's got everything I want in a cozy: fun, interesting, and sometimes wacky characters; a great setting; an intriguing mystery; and yummy food descriptions! I really like Win and her family. I'm about to finish it with a Gin Smash and a lake view 🤗
I've got some ideas for a September read (I'm thinking fantasy for September), I'll email you!
This book was slow for me but damn! I can see why there is a series. Loved that I got to read this in July. Review coming @TheKidUpstairs great suggestion- thanks for the buddy read. @TheKidUpstairs let‘s get a Sept book book going. I have a weird August and will be ready for a buddy read in Sept! I am getting litsy mail out this week. Had a few hiccups, getting all the mail out this week. Sorry for the delay 🥺
Welp I am kind of reading this but today is my procedure. Wish me luck. I think I am more nervous than anything. 4 weeks recovery. My procedure was rescheduled to today. I am done with this week. I will be sleeping and resting. I am catching up on litsy mail this weekend since I am down for 48 hours. I am excited for post procedure tacos. 🖤 miss you guys and will be back to posting and writing. ETA or this is my last procedure.
I loved how Bronwyn‘s friends and family jumped in to help her solve a murder. Even her 80-yr-old grandpa played a part. Enjoyed the family business aspect as well. Fun cozy.
Bronwyn Crewse wants to focus on running the family ice cream parlor, but her plans are derailed by a murder. When her father comes up as prime suspect, she is determined to find the real killer and clear his name.
I enjoyed this mystery and look forward to reading the second book in the series :)
My brain is complete mush this week and this cosy was just what I needed. More cats or dogs in the sequel, please
Please oh please let it be Dominic Toretto
Absolutely delightful start to a cozy mystery series. I loved all the characters and the ice cream descriptions so yummy 🙂 looking forward to the next book in the series. #TeamSlaughter #Scarathlon2021 15pts @Clwojick
Thanks to my weekend of overnight shifts, I managed to cram in a ton of audiobooks and graphic novels during #AnyWayYouReadathon! I basically had my headphones in for my full shifts, and ended up reading for a total of 29hrs 52m 😝
I forgot to add these points to my week one #TeamSlaughter points, so I‘m going back to correct that now! GO TEAM GO!
I decided to take a small break from my #CloudLibrary holds and move onto some of my #ChirpAudiobooks. I‘m in a mood for some cozies right now, and these are the ones I‘m looking at. I‘m working another overnight shift tonight,so I‘m sure I‘ll be able to get through at least two!
I‘m officially 2 books ahead of schedule for my #Goodreads goal, and I‘m hoping to stay there!😅
This was a cute cozy mystery, I am looking forward to reading Game of Cones next. I loved the fun cast of characters and the small twists and turns that are part of the mystery. Overall, a fun read. 4 ⭐
This is my new favorite self care product. I am loving this. Sit and read and massage my feet. Perfect.
My First Read for September.. looking forward to reading my second cozy mystery. #FallReads
I wanted a break from the good but slooooow novel I‘ve been plodding through for many, many days. A DEADLY INSIDE SCOOP looks like it could be the fun, fast read I need.
A fun cozy murder mystery about a woman who has recently returned home to take over her family's ice cream shop when she stumbles across a dead body. When her father is implicated, she doesn't hesitate to try to get to the bottom of the murder herself.
Current listen for #LittenListen and #bookspinbingo. This meets the theme for #NationalRockyRoadDay has an ice cream on the cover. 😉
Still no bingo; its like I'm actively trying not to get one. 😒
@TheAromaofBooks
April books read. A total of 14 books read. I had one poetry, two nonfiction and eleven fiction books. I enjoyed all the books that I read.
I decided to take a break from the memoirs and dive into another favorite genre; mystery. 🙂This seems like a good book to read. 🙂
Another gift from @WanderingBookaneer from her trip to our local #BarnesandNoble — Yey for a new #cozymystery series! That cover is just so eye-catching!
A fresh, fun cozy mystery that kept me giggling, guessing and dreaming of ice cream. Looking forward to the next one and to reading more by Ms. Collette. #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks #integrateyourshelf #mystery
I debated a bit between a pick and so-so. Went with pick because I‘m not a big cozy mystery fan so that could be coloring my view a bit. The setting was cute, and if you must know I prefer ice cream in the winter vs in the summer. 🍦(And the cover is on point.) #TBRDeckOfCards @clwojick
I‘m so proud of myself! Made a quick stop by Joseph Beth Booksellers and didn‘t buy anything for myself although I took a ton of TBR pics like this one! Love discovering new authors. Set in my old stomping grounds of Cleveland (technically Chagrin Falls) and written by a #BlackAuthor. If your #BlitsySwap match is into mysteries, be sure to check this out.

I drove to me sister's in the Cleveland area for Christmas (I quarantined first!) and my only request was that we go to the magical town of Chagrin Falls to get ice cream like we were in the tagged book. No bodies found at the falls, though!
This book has everything that I love about a cozy mystery; a close knit community, a cute shop, strong friendships and family, zany or eccentric characters, a little romantic potential. I loved that we are just starting at the beginning of Win opening her shop and that she had family and friends helping her get started. The mystery was ok, I didn‘t really guess “who done it” before the reveal. So it got me!
A delightfully fun cozy mystery featuring ice cream and recipes. Win is ambitious and seeks to restore her family‘s ice cream shop business. The problem? The body of a man is found by Win at the base of the falls near the store. With her crazy friends helping her, Win must find out who did it, or a dear family member may be arrested.
I liked the characters and how amateurish they are when it comes to sleuthing. The ice cream sounds delicious! ⬇️
Didn‘t order the cobbler ala mode but it fits perfectly with my current read.
I've been so excited for this cozy and it didn't disappoint! Cozies by or about people of color are incredibly rare, so this is a very welcome addition to the genre. I wish it had been a *tad* shorter, but Win, her family, and their charming ice cream shop are going to bring me back.

Deadly Inside Scoop - is a cozy mystery with an ice cream shop in the background and some interesting ice cream recipes
Wild Seed - is a great fantasy set over 400 years. Starting in Africa and to the US. It is a fantasy version of the slave trade essentially.
Akata Witch - Set in Nigeria. This is a middle grade novel. So obviously the kids have to save the world because the adults can‘t.
A neighbor brought me a new mug, ice cream and this book since he knew that yesterday I had oral surgery. He dropped it at the door, rang the doorbell and left. I love my neighbors!
This was such a fun cozy mystery! Now all I want to eat is ice cream. Win opens up her family ice cream shop and finds a dead body the next day. Turns out he has some bad blood with her family and her dad‘s a suspect! With ice cream recipes included in the back! Win tries to find the killer with help from her 2 best friends. Can‘t wait to read more books in this series!

This cozy reminded me a bit of the Hannah Swensen series with the included recipes. It was a good debut for the series but I felt there were too many characters thrown at me for a first book. Also, the MC, Win, didn't seem too enthusiastic about the crime-solving.
I was happy that this books MC and author are both Black. This genre has been predominantly white, though I'm seeing that change. It's nice to find more BIPOC options in this arena.
I don't get insomnia much anymore, but when I do it's miserable. My solution is to move to the couch with a lighthearted book to distract my brain. #15books15weeks
A Deadly Inside Scoop is a truly tasty debut for this series. It strikes all my cozy boxes and then some. It also has recipes in the back of the book!!!

This setting is extremely appealing and the characters are entertaining, memorable, and there was a touching family element. I was disappointed that Win wasn‘t all that invested in sleuthing when the murder occurred. She seemed was perfectly fine with forgetting about the murder completely and focusing solely on the opening of her business. When push came to shove and Win started sleuthing, she wasn‘t very good at it. I would have liked more.
