This was a fun, magical read... absolutely loved this book.

There are a some interesting “guest star“ appearances in this book (fictional characters).

I wanted to share a clip of nearly every page...since that would be seriously illegal 😂LOL, I settled for one of the illustrations.

Although this is a series, the story can standalone.

1- Got to see the movie, BumbleBee. Can't believe I watched a Transformer movie (my brother was a fan...I never was). When I saw the Volkswagen bug, I couldn't help be reminded of my love for Herbie, The Love Bug...must admit, that I now love Bumblebee too!

2- Found part four of a book series that I'm loving (still reading through the first book). Riley Thorn Mysteries. 👇

Book 3 of Pages& Co : Better than the last book. Packed with adventures, travel and vivid imagination. The power of stories and book magic are beautifully captured. What a wonderful, wonderful book ❤❤❤

I quite liked this one. I just felt that the author wasn‘t fully aware that very few children who read middle grade (the intended audience for this book) know details of Ann of Green Gables or The Little Princess. The end isn‘t felt rushed and sloppy, like something you‘d do when you‘ve been doing something forever and you just want to be done with it. I personally feel it would have been better on a cliffhanger, ⬇️

But the world would be in a lot of problems if it ran out of imagination

Some people see a bookshop as an archive, or a shrine, or even a time machine. But I think a bookshop is like a map of the world. There are infinite paths you can take through it and none of them are right or wrong. Here in a bookshop we give readers landmarks to help them find their way, but every reader has to learn to set their own compass.

Since her mother‘s disappearance, Tilly Pages has found comfort in the stories at Pages & Co., her grandparents‘ bookshop. When her favorite characters, Anne of Green Gables and Alice from Wonderland, show up at the shop, Tilly‘s adventures become real. She can follow Anne and Alice into their books, and discovers she can bookwander into any story. When new secrets are uncovered, it‘s up to Tilly to solve the mystery of what happened to her mother

Debra, thank you so much for this wonderful #MiddleGrade giveaway! I have thoroughly enjoyed a few of these from the library, and I‘m excited to be able to add them to my class library next week. I do already have the March trilogy so I‘ll pass that one along to another teacher.

Apart from the four board books I purchased for my one year old Grandson this was the last book of four purchased this week for the older Grandchildren. They will take a book with them when they return to school next week after the lockdown. Reading an hour a day at school should mean the books last a bit longer than reading them at home where they can get through a book a week and save me a bit of money.

I read this or audio listened to this because it was the #mgbuddyread in Jan.
I absolutely loved it. It was so fun when Tilly visited Anne, but I also loved Anne of Green Gables.
Some middle schooler may not get all of the references to some books, but it may intrigue others to read some.
I am currently reading book 2, and may have to keep going.

This was magical! I listened straight through. (I may have both sped up the audio and stayed up late to hear the end of the story)... This feels just like one of the books that made me love reading as a child, and it makes me so happy to meet new characters like these being written for today‘s kids to fall in love with.

I‘d given up on my Libby hold for this actually showing up in January, but here it is! If only it had showed up yesterday I could join our chat 🙂🙃🤣.
But I‘ve been hearing such great things from everyone all month that I‘m really excited to listen to this.

What a fascinating book. I'd love to be able to see and talk to my best friends from books. I'd choose Anne, just as Tilly did, and Jo. The Little Princess has a very special place in my heart - I remember my mom taking me to the bookstore for my 8th or 9th birthday and I chose Sara and my first journal. We rarely had money for books. Alice and her special sidekicks make several appearances so I am including #FairytaleReadingChallenge @Charityann

I was giving up hope. I‘d ordered from Book Outlet on 12.29, they shipped 1.4, were in Cleveland 1.6, and then took 9 days “in transit” to make it 30 miles to me! I hope USPS will get them to the lucky winners quickly. #MGBuddyRead winner will be drawn after our 1.17 discussion.

I have been seeing great quotes and reviews of this book, so I checked my libraries again and was able to find it on audio. It was a fun read, very much a cozy story about the love of books. However, my one question is whether it would truly catch the attention of #MiddleGrade readers as it focuses mostly on classic stories with only passing mentions of more current well loved books.

even though this was my first read of 2021, it‘s undoubtedly going to be one of my very favorites. in fact, I think it‘s entered the top 50 favorite books list.

"I still can't believe Alice took you to hers first," Anne said, obviously still smarting. "But I got Oskar!"
"Yay," Oskar said weakly.

I'm still chuckling. And it makes my old heart so happy that Anne is true to the original character.
