What clubs, restaurants, cafes were hopping on a Friday night in May 2020?
Full of every predictable & tired fantasy trope. Slow as hell. So why did I enjoy it so much? 😂 (One note tho…I read this as part of a romance group. This book is NOT a romance. Def squarely in fantasy-land.)
Breen is a middle school teacher not loving her dull boring life and very controlling mother. She discovers her mother has been keeping a lot of secrets from her. She finds out the truth about her father and herself after going to Ireland for the summer.
Very unusual for me to rate TWO books five stars only 7 days into the year. Maybe my goal this year should be to read more slowly and to choose even more books about magic? Such a fun world here!
This totally sucked me in. A young woman in Philly finds out she has an inheritance and travels to Ireland where she finds out that she inherited more than money. And there's a whole separate world. And grandma happens to be a powerful witch. And I'll leave the rest for you to discover. This sucked me right in and I've already started the next. I recommend the audio because Irish spelling is a beast.

So I didn‘t really read much last month… In fact, I only read one book. So I decided to keep my #BookSpinBingo list exactly the same, except for changing the book I read last month with the tag title for this month. I know this is late, but I am looking forward to a good month of reading.
Any Roberts‘ fans out there, I just saw this 1st book in her latest trilogy on US Kindle sale for $1.99. Some good reviews, some not great reviews.
I‘m going to give it a try…because hey, $1.99. 🤣🤣🤷🏻♀️
Every time one of her books comes out I have to re-read them just because 😏🤨📖
I‘m not the biggest fan of fantasy books sometimes but decided to give this one a chance. I loved it. I think because I was learning about this new world along with the main character. It didn‘t just throw me in and keep me confused. Will definitely continue the series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This has very “Yer a wizard 'Arry“ vibes as the protagonist leads a very dull and bland life before finding out she is part of another world entirely. It's very much a quasi portal fantasy romance but the romance is not super central to the story. It's mostly about finding yourself and letting yourself be true to that self. I did this in the audio and the narrator was very good.
I found these adorable mini bottles of champagne 🍾 What a fancy way to spend a Friday night 🤣

Really didn‘t want to do this but did :) Listening to the tagged book- super intriguing so far!
Rating: 4.5 🌟
Book: 5 of 2022
I‘ve seen Nora Roberts around quite a bit but have yet to read or listen to any of her books. Now I just finished listening to The Awakening and I am hooked!! The character development and individualized personalities are worth the read alone. I am in love with Breen and Keegan but let‘s be honest, I wish I had a Marco in my life! So good and cannot wait to continue the series.
Characters were a bit flat, they were all perfectly fit & beautiful but they didn't really have diverse personalities.
I loved the setting and how vibrant descriptions were. I started to miss summer and flowers while I read this.
Plot wasn't bad but I think this still needed some editing. This was a bit too long and hadn't so many events.

I don‘t care what anyone thinks…I freaking loved this book! I couldn‘t stop reading it and cannot wait to read book #2.
I shamelessly stole this picture from online. I loved this book! I kind of cringed at how cliche a couple of the main characters were, but for the most part they were likable and entertaining. The storyline itself was very engaging and I was very excited to read book #2!
I recommend this book for anyone who likes adventure/fey tales.
📚📖 Happy Reading 📖📚
Puzzles and audiobooks ❤️
Currently listening to The Awakening by Nora Roberts and I‘m really into it. My first Nora Roberts book so I‘m excited to see what is in store.
⭐⭐⭐ This was OK. A woman pushed into a career she hates by her cheap, domineering mother finds out that her absent father has been sending her money for years, and her mom hid it. Also her father came from a magic parallel universe that she goes to check out. Her best friend, Marco, is potentially interesting, but half of what he says sounds like a robot programmed to Supportive Best Friend Function. Lots of magic.
I thought this was going to be my final book of 2021, but I'm 250 pages in and completely bored... out to the Little Free Library it goes!
Anyone else agree?
Book 1 in her new series. I have to confess I love NR and read just about all over her stories. Great way to pass the holiday with #wintergames2021 #mistletoemaniacs #wintercosy @Clwojick @PuddleJumper
I loved the prose, especially the descriptions of Ireland. However the plot was lack luster. I felt that Roberts just reworked previous books. In short, just not enough originality and I needed more world building for my tastes. I am calling it a pick but it was a close thing. 3 to 3.5 ⭐
The Dragon Heart Legacy Book 1 is a fantastic story blending contemporary life with magical life. Breen Kelly has been manipulated by her mother her whole life, made to feel inadequate & abandoned by her father. An unexpected trip to Ireland to "find herself" results in more than she can comprehend. Half human, half fey Breen falls in love with her new world, but can't make the break from the old. I can't wait for the next book, due in November!
Couldn‘t get into it. Took 1/3 of the book to get past the events outlined in the summary, and I just couldn‘t get invested in the main character‘s story or motivations. Sorry :(
It has been in the upper 60's all day today and also very sunshine-y so I just had to go to the park after work to read and walk and soak up the warmth! 🌿☀️📚💕
Nora Roberts is one of those authors that is a hit or miss with me. Some of her books I love and others I'm just not too find of. I was about 50 pages into the library copy of this book and fell in love with it SO HARD I ordered my own copy! It has magic and Fae, and Ireland and possibly dragons? 😍💕📚🐉
I enjoyed the idea of parallel worlds with bridges in between. Breen has a destiny she has only begun to uncover. I am exited for the rest of this series to see what in truly lying below the surface.
February Book 17/25 #LitsyLove
Picked this book up randomly at the library and quickly became a Nora Roberts fan! I loved the interplay of the worlds and the true awakening of the main character. She had the power and only needed a boost. The various types of magiks, creatures, and characters made reading this book a pleasurable affair. Can‘t wait for the second book!
Books I have finished recently. All very good books.
Not sure what I expected going into this book, but I love Nora Roberts. This is more a fantasy trilogy and I book 1 was amazing!
Breen learns some awful and surprising truths about her past and where she‘s from. There‘s a duty she has to protect a world she forgot about and is growing to love as an adult. Keegan, the leader of this world, isn‘t sure how he‘s going to get Breen ready to be what‘s needed to stop the destruction of Talamh and Earth.
Finished this audio today. I loved it. Nora Robert‘s always manages to pull me in.
Loved this! At first it was a little cringy/forced but it quickly picked up and turned out to be a great read. It has an addicting storyline that leaves you always wanting to read more! Much like Chronicles of The One by Nora Roberts, this is a magical tale of witches, dragons, elves and faeries...
I recommend this to anyone who loves a great fantasy tale
📖📚Happy Reading!📚📖
While it had a slow start, I am so glad I stuck with it. I am always looking for a good adult fantasy. Now to wait not so patiently for book 2 to be released in November😳
Thank you so much @sharread for sending this! Both my mom and I are going to enjoy reading it. Litsy friends are the best!!!!
Love this start to NR‘s new trilogy. Can‘t wait to see where this goes! #WinterGames2020 #ReadNosedReindeer
So I bided my time and got the tagged title 50% off at BN. And lately I have found I have had more luck with books I knew nothing about rather than big name titles. So Ready Player 2 stayed at the store and the two in the picture have interesting covers and they sound fabulous. #blackfriday
Day 1 of #24b4Monday is in the books. Did a lot of audio listening as I worked on some projects around the house.
@Andrew65 @SumisBooks @jb72
This absorbing fantasy novel is magical with fairies, dragons, magick, passion, friendship, family and sword fighting! Character driven at it's best I loved each one. Their enthusiasm throughout the novel kept me at an all time high of wanting more. The main character has a chance to search for her long lost father in Ireland that leads her on a layered adventure. Memorable, picturesque, vivid, a must read for fantasy lovers.

@Ash.on.the.line Thank you so much Ashley! I've been wanting to read The City of Brass for awhile. 😁❤ I love graphic novels too, you are awesome!
