For a book about gifting women the power of wings, it really needs a sequel. This book focuses on the trauma two women experience when they are found with wings. But what happens after their grand escape? So much could be told about their adventures with their new gifts….left me confused in the madness of the villain and wanting more!

Picked this book up randomly at the library and quickly became a Nora Roberts fan! I loved the interplay of the worlds and the true awakening of the main character. She had the power and only needed a boost. The various types of magiks, creatures, and characters made reading this book a pleasurable affair. Can‘t wait for the second book!

Both main characters annoyed me so much, but my desire to find out how they evolved gripped me to the end. The dialogue made me laugh so many times, and I loved how so many compelling scenes made it into such a short book. I would recommend to anyone drawn to a story about relationship and personal growth with a brush of canines, friendship, and Italy.
