May your weekend be full of peace and good books!
I enjoyed this one (not as much as Tweet Cute) about a teen, Abby, who takes a DNA test and finds out she has a full-blooded older sister she never knew about. The two meet and scheme to spend a month at summer camp (where the older sister is a camp counselor) so that they can get to know each other and why they never knew about each other. Oh, and Abby‘s secret crush also works at the camp, complicating her summer plans!

⭐️⭐️2.5-3.0
While “You Have a Match“ held the potential to be a touching and poignant tale, it didn't quite reach the emotional heights I was hoping for. The lack of depth in character development, predictable plot twists, and rushed conclusion left me feeling unsatisfied by the end.

I adored this book. It was just what I needed. I liked Tweet Cute a lot, but this one exceeded it for me, which I was not expecting. It gave me just the right amount of feels. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Despite the obvious intrigue of the whole secret full sister concept, I found this book, above anything else, boring and flat. I spaced out plenty and never felt excited to open it. The first half with Abby getting mad and enacting revenge on Savvy for just doing her job felt petty and escalated the situation way more than it needed to be. 3⭐️
There was waaay too much drama. The main why in the family storyline was creative, but I got lost because every three pages was a new argument or mess between the characters. Like fights within fights. Didn‘t grasp me like Tweet Cute & the Leo subplot also felt like it was going nowhere
Abby is a high school student who's in love with her best friend. After she takes a DNA test, she discovers she has an Instagram-famous, full-blooded sister that she knew nothing about. The two arrange to spend the summer together by attending/working at the same camp. Shenanigans ensue.
I was drawn into this story. I didn‘t know until after i read it that it was a Reese's Book Club YA winter pick for 2021, but I can understand why. As a former summer camp kid, turned camp counselor, the predominant setting of this book really appealed to me. But, the conflict in this story would have kept me engaged either way. Although the ending was easily predictable, it was the ending I was rooting for, so I'll forgive the predictability.
I‘m doing that thing again😅 now reading 3 books at once because I have no self control, and I heard that You Have A Match is cute and fun story, so I felt compelled to start it📖 #currentreads #tbr #januarywrapup
I loved Tweet Cute so was excited to read another Emma Lord book. This one was still cute, but it didn't hold my attention the same way. There were too many storylines going on, and I wish it skipped the romance and just focused on Abby's and Savvy's sister relationship instead of adding Leo into it. The parent drama was also over the top. I liked in Tweet Cute that the parents were more immature than the kids, but it didn't feel appropriate here.
Once a year on my book podcast, we take a break from our usual literary throwback programming to explore more recent YA and middle grade titles from an adult perspective. It‘s New Reads November 2021! On the first episode, the lovely Emma Benshoff joins me to talk about Emma Lord‘s You Have a Match. We chat about queer rep, social media in books, the golden age of YA, and more. ⛺️ Link to listen in bio!
Just finished my #DoubleSpin book for September! It was less of a romance and more of a coming-of-age story. I definitely cried 😭 @TheAromaofBooks
Thank-you @Catsandbooks for a lovely package! I‘m excited to try the chocolate raspberry coffee (that‘s one of my favorite flavor combinations) and I love the little pumpkin lights! It‘s so cool that Wings of Ebony is signed too. 😄
Thank-you @Avanders for hosting! 🎃📚
The story was slow through until the end. I liked the ending because all the relationships tie up nicely. I just wish there was more of a connection between Abby and Leo. Their relationship seemed kind of boring until the end. I did like Abby and Savvy‘s sister-relationship development. I also liked the LGBTQIA inclusion and how Lord worked it naturally in the story and not made it the center of it.

Abby and her friends take a blood test for fun. She didn‘t expect for her secret older sister, Savvy, to contact her. They concoct a plan to go to camp together without their parents knowing. She also doesn‘t expect to see her best friend/crush Leo to the same camp. Why did Abby‘s parents keep Savvy from her? Will Abby finally tell Leo how she feels about him?

My hold finally came in and I spent the day listening to this book. It was a fun read. I enjoyed it.
Has anyone started this month‘s selection yet? My hold came through on Libby yesterday and I‘m already about a third of the way through. Super cute, fun, and easy read so far! Hope you all are enjoying it too! 😆#itslit
A quick listen that was good for my over burdened brain this week. I liked Abbie and Savvy and Leo and Finn. I read the parents as acting only to forward the plot. Fortunately they were absent more often than not. #audiostitching
I love a good YA book and this one did not disappoint. There were so many storylines that I was really invested in and they came to a nice conclusion. Took me a minute to get used to the way the author references something before she actually tells it to you but I learned to really enjoy it after I realized that I hadn‘t skipped over something. This was an adorable book and one that I would read again.
I'm late to the party but here is my #BookSpinBingo for #April

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was just so cute. I really enjoyed seeing Savvy and Abby get to know each other and grow. I even joined the romance and didn‘t feel like it over powered the story. I loved this so much more than Tweet Cute.

A cute “Parent Trap“-esque read. Comfortable, easy, & a great beach or escape read. The premise is unique, fun, & light despite addressing some grown-up topics. The characters are enjoyable, likable, & distinct. There is naturally presented diversity that doesn't feel contrived & is well-executed. I loved the relationships that developed, though the parental conflicts felt over the top. The writing is spunky & flippant, making the read very fun.
This was SO FLIPPING CUTE AND GOOD, I cannot! Watching Abby and Savvy discover each other and become the sisters they were always meant to be filled my heart to bursting, and the romances were on point. #yalit #reesesbookclub
This book had huge Parent Trap vibes to me. I didn‘t enjoy this one as much as Tweet Cute but it was a cute read.
Also if any fellow Littens have any advice about what they thought was helpful after getting their COVID vaccines send them my way. Getting my first dose on Friday!

I picked this one up both because I enjoyed Tweet Cute by this author last year & because, as someone with an adopted sister, I am always on the lookout for adoption-positive stories. Unfortunately, something was just lacking for me with this one. It felt too long & somewhat cluttered - this should either have been about Abby & Leo, or Abby & Savvy, or Abby's bad grades - not about all of them. I think this would have been a much better story ⬇️
This was a great YA read - so many feelings and emotions 😋 I really liked the characters and the summer camp setting was making this Parent Trap fan happy 😊 This book had a nice feeling. Families and friendship 😊 🌟🌟🌟🌟
If there was a spot between soso and pick I would choose that. So many of the problems in this book could‘ve just been solved if the characters actually talked to each other and were open instead of angsting about everything. I wanted to love this book and parts were great but I got sooo frustrated at some of the interactions that I almost stopped listening a few times. I loved the growth between her and her sister.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ this was such a good book! It has a unique plot full of drama (but not dramatic), and I love the self-discovery and character development. Plus, romance is ❤
Emma Lord writes a wonderful story about family, friendships and finding out who you are.
My review is now available at #trishtalkstext https://trishtalkstexts.wordpress.com/2021/01/13/review-you-have-a-match-by-emma... I really enjoyed this modern contemporary YA novel. #reviewingandblogging #netgalley It‘s out now.
4/5
I was obsessed with the Parent Trap, so I was super excited to read this novel about sisters secretly getting to know each other at summer camp. There are plenty of pranks pulled between these very different sisters, even as they work together to figure out why their parents kept the other's existence a secret.
It's a super cute book about family, friendship, love, summer camp, and sisterhood.

This is a good one, y‘all: read it in 24 hours, made me cry, made me grin and laugh out loud, made me want to take a dna test, made me proud to be raising sisters, broke my heart, and gave me starry eyes. 💜
Thanks to Edelweiss for the ARC.
Heartfelt story of friendships and family. Lessons of bravery and chasing your dreams. I enjoy a good epilogue, and this delivers. #NetGalley
What a sweet YA contemporary romance. Filled with sister bonding, first love, summer camp, delicious sounding Filipino food and parents who are real, authentic people with their own past. Emma Lord is one to watch for in YA! #arc #netgalley #ya #emmalord
Yup, I definitely love Emma Lord novels! This was just as good as Tweet Cute, but brought a few tears to my eye at the end. The whole Parent Trap with a twist was a good plot device, better than I was worried it would be. And I loved the LGBTQ representation she threw in totally casually as well as the diversity of the characters! So well done, because they weren‘t in your face; just normal characters who happened to be Asian or gay!!!
