Absolutely loved this book! It was so exciting and unique. I would highly recommend this to fans of Harry Potter and Artemis Fowl.

If there was a spot between soso and pick I would choose that. So many of the problems in this book could‘ve just been solved if the characters actually talked to each other and were open instead of angsting about everything. I wanted to love this book and parts were great but I got sooo frustrated at some of the interactions that I almost stopped listening a few times. I loved the growth between her and her sister.
This book was really good but definitely not for the faint of heart. There‘s graphic torture scenes throughout the book. It has a similar tone to Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan so if you enjoyed that book you should definitely check it out. I can‘t wait to read more from this author because it was hard to put this one down.
I love the first one and this did not disappoint!
I felt parts of this book on a spiritual level. This part especially lol
I loved hearing the behind the scenes stories of Dolly‘s songs and how personal they are to her. She‘s fabulous.💖🦋
This is a beautiful book about the ways friendship can help you heal after a devastating loss. This story definitely broke my heart and then put it back together again.
This picture book by Julia Alvarez and illustrated by Raúl Colón was absolutely beautiful and made me tear up. It‘s about slowing down and being mindful. I really needed this right now.
This book has some VERY anti-native writing in it and I just... can‘t. Yes, she‘s Argentinan but she‘s not native. Also she named the area tribe Mapuche when there‘s an actual large group of South American native people called the Zapuche. *side eye for days*
How... am I supposed to wait a whole year to find out what happens next... ahhhh it was so good!
Loving this book about Muslim kids from all sorts of backgrounds and how they celebrate Eid around the world.
I absolutely loved the artwork and they way the story was laid out. It was a fresh and interesting look at a very talented person.
This was a simple and beautiful book about acts of love and faith. Now I have to see the movie!
This graphic novel had me hooked right off the bat with its vivid, candy-colored artwork. There's a Wonderland meets 80s fantasy/metal vibe about it that's wonderful and I've never read a comic quite like it. I can't wait to see more.
I love this series! It never fails to put a smile on my face. It's very kindhearted and silly. If you have any Elephant and Piggie fans in your life, this is a great readalike for them.
I liked this graphic novel even though I really am not a fan of the "I know something really bad but I can't tell you so I'm gonna push you away and out of my life" thing in stories. It's really dark and held my interest well. The characters are very complex and well developed.
This was a fun little book about the 1904 World's Fair and the candy floss machine debuted there to create the precursor to the cotton candy we know today. The artwork is very vibrant, perfect candy colors for a book about a sweet treat!
This book is very sweet! It has simple rhymes and lovely artwork. It would make a great addition to a story time. ❤
These books are so cute! I really love Molly Idle's artwork.
One of my favorites this year! It's very suspenseful without being hokey. It has a pretty great reveal at the end. If you like slasher flicks and are constantly yelling at the screen about what the characters should or shouldn't be doing, this book is for you. I literally could not put it down because I just had to know the ending. The pacing was fantastic.
This magical realism manga about time travel and regret was so beautiful it made me cry. It was funny, sweet and melancholic.
This was a funny adventure/fantasy story graphic novel that left me wanting a sequel, like, yesterday.
This was so well written. I laughed and cried. Listen to the audiobook if you can. It's fabulous.
Bee pollen tea + this book = a nice lunch hour! I'm really liking this. It's very well written.
One of the best books I've read all year! I laughed and cried. If you can listen to the audiobook, you should!
Loved this book! Great adaptation by Jackson's grandson with gorgeous Hopper-esque artwork that perfectly translates this story into a graphic novel.
This book was so sad but also very sweet. It is set in the 1980s with a supernatural aspect that makes it a little like Stranger Things. There's tons of Star Trek TOS references too, which is awesome. If you liked A Monster Calls or the sisters aspect in Raina Telgemeier's Ghosts, you'll love this. It's very similar in tone.
I loved this book so much! Everything translated so well to 1920s New York. The evil stepmother is a Ziegfeld girl, the huntsman is a hitman, the prince is Detective Prince with the NYPD and the dwarves are a group of street urchins. The artwork is beautiful gray, white, and black watercolor with splashes of color. I feel like this would make a great movie. It feels very cinematic.
I liked this book a lot though I was not happy with them calling the girl whose mother lost her job "Poor -" (I can't remember her actual name) and the main character accusing her because she does not have a lot of money. The artwork was great and the story was cute, but it lost a decent amount of points with me due to this detail that could have been left out as it added nothing to the story.
Few books literally make me laugh out loud but this was one of them. Read this now. PS gotta love a fellow collector of weird old toys!
I love this book! The artwork is very detailed, with a midcentury feel and a great variety of fun things to do, many of which are free! Beautiful book.
This picture book is truly lovely. The Fan brothers' dreamy, whimsical art pairs with a beautiful tale about Hadfield being afraid of the dark as a young child. Watching the first moon landing at his neighbor's house was a transformative experience for him and instead of being afraid of the dark, he became curious. It made me tear up, for sure.
I love this book, which is unlike anything I've ever read before. It's very poetic, with excellent insight into the mind of a very talented human. It is very artistically inspiring.
Super cute! This episode is about how she doesn't want to follow her parents bedtime rules so she spends the night at her friends' houses in order to get around them. Her friends: vampires, a werewolf, mummy, and a Frankenstein all have routines with their families too. Very fun read, especially for a 1st or 2nd grader.
This is a funny and sweet graphic novel about a spunky young witch, her family, and friends. Magic Trixie is a new older sister and she is not handling her responsibilities as well as her parents would like. The artwork is very detailed and lovely. Fast, fun, read.
I love Ann Shen's gorgeous watercolor and gouache artwork and the variety of super rad women she chose. It's pretty amazing to see this project go from a cool zine to this amazing book about smart, intelligent, brave women who rebelled against social norms. I love it! #whoruntheworld
I loved this! It's so well written. Russo adds nice endnotes too. One is addressed to her trans readers and another to cis readers. I tore through this book on a 3 hour flight back home from vacation and highly recommend it. Ps Amanda has rad taste in pop culture.
This book is so whimsical and adorable. The illustrations are soo wonderful. There's very much a Paddington meets Eloise vibe to it. Also, I actually laughed out loud while reading this book.
It took me a little while to get into it but after about 40 pages I couldn't put it down. Definitely made me think about gymnastics differently when I watched the Olympics this year.
