The pacing was inconsistent but the characters were superb. Who doesn‘t love a book about dogs?

A sweet book that introduces grief at a first grade reading level. It illustrates the changes in sorrow and cheerfulness and how a friend can help. #underthedustcover

Everyone should read this book! We could all stand to learn more about friendships, the different kinds that exist, how to make them, maintain them, and the value of them. This was very well written, included a lot of real world examples and was thoroughly researched. I didn't know anything about the author going into it but learning that it was written by a black woman was the cherry on top 💜

Aw, this 2024 Stonewall winner perfectly captures that awkward time just before high school when it seems everybody around you is maturing and you aren‘t sure how to catch up, or even if you want to. Add in that Tuva might not want a boyfriend, but a girlfriend. Fantastic graphic novel.

I acquired zero physical books in February. Zero. Zilch. Nada. I think this is an accomplishment! (I‘m looking toward a move, no idea when it will happen, and am trying not to acquire more stuff to move.) My mother is unimpressed. (“Good for you.” she says.) I‘m very impressed! I know you all will understand!

My opinion of this book is “middle of the road “. Parts of It seemed far fetched to me. There are so many times I thought to myself that I‘d never have met things go that far. The characters had me a bit confused as well. I know who the “bad guy” was, but I didn‘t really buy in to the idea that the “good guy” was genuine. This story left me with many unanswered questions.
