Hubby and I went to church then headed over to the beach for a few hours 💙💙
The first 48% took me a couple weeks. The last 52% took me one day.
I knew there would be a twist (there always is), but I thought it was going to be something entirely different.
All of the characters are awful and I didn't feel like I was rooting for anyone. But for some reason, I kept picking this book back up to read a couple of pages here and there.
Because of how good the ending was, ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

I absolutely loved the ending and was hoping it would make up for the slower mid-section. The slow-building leads to an unexpected twist that makes sense still leaves you surprised.
A twisty read that had me captivated from the very beginning. I loved the interwoven pov and trying to guess what was going on but as usual Mary Kubica took this story to places I did not anticipate. Another great read from this author.
Started this thriller this morning- it‘s one of my book sale finds. I‘m not sure what to think so far. Reading while eating dumplings 🥟
Your #Jolabokaflod parcel put a smile on my face, @Mrs_B 🎄
Thank you so much, Lucy!! I hope I'll be able to write back soon...
Merry Christmas to all of you, dear friends!

I loved this book! When I first started reading the book I felt like I kind of knew what was going on, and I wasn‘t too far off. However, the book held me captive the entire time! I love books that change point of views, and this one didn‘t disappoint in that regard. The end is shocking, and a lot of information comes at you quickly and makes finishing the book a breeze! There are a lot of things happening in the book. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!
Not gonna lie…I wasn‘t really a fan of this one. For me it was uninteresting and predictable. I kept reading to see if there would be an unexpected twist, but I had already guessed how it would end. Essentially, Sadie and Will move their family for a fresh start. Soon after, a neighbor is dead. Lots of twists and turns follow, many red herrings…I just didn‘t find it believable and many of the red herrings felt like a waste of time.
I was bored for about 95% of this book. The main character was super unlikable. I figured it out at about 1/4 of the book, the ending was a little unexpected, but not enough to save this book. It was honestly just very boring and nobody was likable.
I wanted to like this one more than I did. I figured out the twist well before the reveal, so the ending was just meh for me. A woman and her husband move to care for a young family member after her mother committed suicide. Not long after the move, a woman on their block is brutally murdered. Multiple narrators add layers to the suspense
A crazy ride of a book 😱 4.75/5 Read for the June #Buzzwordathon - Name/Title
This one was so great! It had such twists and turns and I really didn't guess the ending (I love when that happens). Thanks again @Aavanders for this one! Its so right up my alley!
Also I have been having the best day just laying around reading!

Thank you @Aavanders for gifting this one to me a while back :) I had some down time so I had decided it was time to pick this one up! I am loving it so far.... Its dark and mysterious!!!
This was really good and so easy to read albeit predictable; that will sound ludicrous to anyone who has read the book and I acknowledge that, but it really did spell it out to you, either way, I loved it
I finally have some #BFC21 progress to report! Today I almost hit my goal of 20 minutes exercise & I‘ve written every day so far this month! Although I haven‘t completed any books, I‘ve been reading every day & that‘s a win. Tonight we found a little free library while out on our walk & I rewarded myself with a book!
Total 5⭐️ read. I‘ve not read this author before but I guarantee I will read her again! This is about a family of four who inherits a house and custody of a 16 year old. The family sells and moves to their inheritance hoping to leave behind their “Issues” in Chicago. “Issues” doesn‘t begin to describe the what‘s happening in this story. So many twists. It had me guessing to the end. If you like these types of thrillers, this is a definite read.
Finally warm enough to open our three season room. Now my babies are enjoying the air and watching over me while a write some #litsylove birthday cards. #audiowriting with the tagged book.
I liked the twists. Good writing and decent story. I would recommend it.
Thank you so much for the lovely #CBBC package. So excited to get started on this book group book and of course the lovely book you gifted me @Avanders ! You are awesome! (sorry I didn't take a super great picture. ... I have a mess right now!)

My Rating: 2/5
I hate giving bad reviews...but this book just was not it for me. Contrived as the plot is, I had it pretty much figured out within the first 100 pages. I think there was potential there that just didn't get follow through. 🤷♀️
Finally a book I can sit down and read for an hour! Arranged my books on my behind the sofa table today 💙
Usually enjoy Kubica. Her first will always be my favorite, but I‘ll also always read her.
Sadie and Will are new to town. One day a murder happens across the street. Evidence keeps piling up against Sadie, with time running out to prove her innocence. The biggest setbacks were a result of having too many irons in the fire. There‘s the bullied teenage son, the angry teenaged stranger, and of course, Will and Sadie themselves. The end result was messy. In other words, I‘d probably pick a thriller other than The Other Mrs.
Thought I knew who the killer was but I didn't. Really enjoyed this book.
Put some books on hold to pick up Monday, I hope, library closed to public again😷 at least there is curbside pick up....thank you librarians!

Grateful for healthy grandson and husband that cooks👨🍳
Murder mystery...not too hard to figure out, I think, but still a fun read.
#WondrousWednesday @Eggs
Thx for tag @Hazel2019
@llcoolnate one of these days you will play😉
I love thrillers and am able to see the twist often but this one was a little too easy to see. I would have liked it to be a lot more subtle before the reveal. That being said I enjoyed the story and it kept me reading. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
1. Nothing but relaxing with my family, and reading! 📚📖
2. Kristin Hannah, Jodi Picoult, and most books about/during WWII.
3. Tagged book, The Spider and the Fly, and An Anonymous Girl. Tagged book was my fav of the three.
#wonderouswednesday @Eggs
I‘ve been waiting to start this one, but had to force myself to finish The Goldfinch first. Man that was a tough one to get through, anyone else think so?
A psychological thriller about a woman who moves to a Maine island with her family. She‘s a doctor and she and her husband and two sons leave behind a complicated history in Chicago. There were quite a few twists, but one of the major ones was evident pretty early on. It‘s still kept me interested, but it dragged a bit once I knew what was coming. There‘s still a good twist at the end though.
TW Child abuse and suicide
(A warning to readers: There are depictions of child abuse in the book that are upsetting.) There were quite a few twists and turns, but I think there were enough clues that kind of lead you to the conclusions before they came. I always feel that‘s a sign of a good writer and book. Yes, the story is a bit far-fetched but we are reading fiction. It‘s meant to be entertaining. I‘m willing to suspend some disbelief.
5 Unpredictable Stars! 😲
This was a great audiobook, I'm not sure if I would have gone with 5 stars had it not been for the audible narration really bringing this story home. 👏
#bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks
Let's just see if this is as good as everyone says.
Still working on the #bookspinbingo. Making better progress than I thought I would.
Oh, how I love an untrustworthy narrator. This was twisted, and oh so good! First completed book during #AwesomeAugust, clocking me in at 4 hours 30 mins. Thank you #overnight shifts! It‘s been a steady night, but the phones have been quiet, so I‘ve been able to listen to my audiobooks all night 😏
Read, but not yet reviewed for #NetGalleyReviewathon
How well we think we know those closest to us.
And then, what a shock to the system it is to find out we don‘t know them at all.
Sadie and her family have inherited a house and an orphaned niece on an island. They move into the house to get away from some issues. The niece is Gothic and doesn't want Sadie to her guardian. One night their neighbor is found murdered, and the island police suspect Sadie. How will she convince them that she didn't do it?
This was my second read by Mary Kubica. I liked this much more than The Good Girl. This read had more twists and turns.
Shortly after Sadie and Will Froust move their family to a small town, a woman turns up dead in her home. At first glance, the couple is distraught, but then why does a neighbor claim to have seen Sadie arguing with the victim?
This book keeps you entertained with every page turn, from “Mouse‘s” backstory to the Frousts‘ children. such a winner!
Admittedly, I did figure out twist but it took me awhile to get there. There‘s a second twist coming!
#crimeaday
An easy crime book with a couple of twists.
Very good book. It is gripping with many twists. It will keep you guessing until the end.
5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My spidey senses peaked early on when I picked up on a clue. I was correct; however, I certainly did not anticipate the path this one would take to get me there. (Note: I‘m not a fan on how suicide was discussed here, so there is that.
Phew. There was a topic in there that was hard for me to get through but the mystery kept me going. And it was well worth it! I recommend this book!
Up next: a psychological thriller. I enjoyed The Good Girl so I hope this is as engaging and suspenseful! 🤞🏻
4-16-20: My 31st finished book of 2020! Very quick and suspenseful read! 🌟🌟🌟 1/2. 👍🏼📖#️⃣3️⃣1️⃣ #theothermrs #marykubica

Sort of waffling between a so-so and a pick. Lots of red herrings and second guessing in this one, with a possible unreliable narrator. Got fast-paced and a little crazy near the end. Ultimately not sure how I felt about that ending, but makes me want to go back and re-read the whole thing again.
