This story follows four siblings on their journey through a magical and mysterious place called Narnia that they accidentally accessed through a wardrobe in one of the siblings rooms. In Narnia, they must help the lion defeat the witch.
'Once a king or queen in Narnia, always a king or queen.”
The story explores themes of bravery, sacrifice, and redemption. The story teaches that standing up for what is right, believing in yourself, and showing compassion can lead to positive change.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is a classic fantasy that follows four siblings named Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy. They discover the magical land of Narnia through a wardrobe. Narnia is under the spell of the White Witch, who has plunged it into eternal winter. With the help of Aslan, the noble lion, the children embark on a quest to save Narnia and restore peace.
Veta Mae also decided to embark on the Lore quest in April since she finished her classes and had some extra time.
Here‘s her stack of books for that. She‘s really excited to continue the exploration in September.
What a beautiful story, I had seen the movie when it came out (I was 9) but I don‘t think I fully understood the significance ❤️ I can‘t wait to watch it again as an adult after reading the book 🥹❤️
First time rereading since childhood — maybe at age 8 or so — and Edmund is even more of a shit than I remembered (like, way earlier than the bewitched Turkish Delights). Plus, the Biblical allegory is much more obvious. Still, it IS wonderfully atmospheric and charming. Full of enchanting visuals that I was pleased to find have lingered much more accurately in my memory.
I will track all posts made to this activity and choose a Winner based on stacks. In the event of a draw I will put names in a bowl. Posts should be before Sunday at noon - i will coordinate winner after that. This is a #midwintersolace activity #naturalitsy
Once a king or queen of Narnia, always a king or queen of Narnia.
“Once a king or queen of Narnia, always a king or queen of Narnia.” After reading this classic and magical adventure you‘ll feel like a king or queen of Narnia forever. This world in the wardrobe will become like a second home and every friendly creature will be your dearest friend. Your heart will race and break along side the Pecensie children as they learn and teach us what courage, humility and self sacrifice truly is. #narnia #52challenge
A classic and a childhood favorite. I have very strong memories of my dad reading this to me and my sisters when we were little. The boom in his voice as he read Father Christmas‘s lines as it snowed outside. ❤️
#SundayFunday Have a wonderful day, and remember to tag me in your posts!
If I didn‘t have to worry about making anything or cost, I have always wanted to dress up as Queen Lucy, from the very end of the tagged book. Something rich, and dark, and luxurious. ❤️
#SundayFunday Have a marvelous day and don‘t forget to tag me in your post!
“All shall be done, but it may be harder than you think“
Harry potter and The hobbit are books that people dive into the world and learn more about it. The Chronicles of Narnia is another book that has a world with many different aspects. This book has been banned because of violence, gore, and mystical factors but what people might not know about it is that it is a huge symbol of the bible.
The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe is a story about four children who are sent away from their parents during world war two to live with a family friend who owns a large mansion. They stumble upon a magical wardrobe that is a doorway to the magical land of Narnia where they are forced into a war of their own that they have to fight in.
I loved this book so much! It really grabbed my attention and drew me into the story. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy, mystery, and adventure. Also, the creatures and word choice are on point!
Not only is this a #roll100 book, but it will get me two bingos in #bookspinbingo so it‘s a #winwin for me! @PuddleJumper @TheAromaofBooks
One of my all time faves. I finished this today with my Year 9 class! C S Lewis's childhood home, 'Little Lea' is literally around the corner to the school I teach in ... I have been known to peer through the gates 😉
I first read this book when I was younger, but at the time, I didn't really care for it. I never even finished the rest of the series. So, I decided to try them again. I enjoyed it much more this time around. I still wouldn't say it's one of my favorite books, but I did like it, and I actually want to continue the series this time.

1) A break from the humidity, how beautiful the snow looks (if we get any), and the restful quiet.
2) The tagged classic! Quintessential Winter!

My Sunday is very, very cold and wet today!
Generally speaking, I associate fantasy with my childhood. My dad read to me and my sisters every night until we moved into a house with bedrooms for all of us.
But specifically, the tagged book and the whole series. I can‘t read them myself now without hearing his voice in my head. ❤️

I enjoyed reading this book!! It is one of my favorite books. I haven't read the book in awhile. It was a quick read. Love the characters in this book. I rated this book a 5 out of 5 stars!!
This was just as good as I remember and I can't wait to have more adventures in Narnia!
I've placed the 2010 movie on my queue at Disney+ and looking forward to that this weekend.
I've also placed the next book in the series (by publication date) on hold. That will come in before the first of the year but won't be read until 2023.
I forgot to post this yesterday. For St. Nicholas Day I automatically thought of Father Christmas from The Chronicles of Narnia.

There are a few movies and TV shows I love based on books (mostly Jane Austen), but this is the first one that popped into my mind! I love how beautiful this movie is, and the music, and how faithful it is to the book. And Tilda Swinton 😍

I remember loving the 80s film as a kid and I've read this several times. I really enjoyed listening to this and it was much shorter than I recalled! A nice way to spend my day at work yesterday! Lol
I had planned to listen to these in chronological order but gave up... I do find it funny how Edmond was complaining about Lucy sulking! Lol, he's the freaking WORST!
Having watched the movie a few times, which I really like, I‘m glad I‘ve finally read the book. I was impressed with how closely the movie followed the book. I think though I would have liked the book more if I hadn‘t seen the movie. It lacked the novelty of the first book, The Magician‘s Nephew (& I may have missed Kenneth Branaugh‘s brilliant narration from the Magician). But of course it was still excellent and I look forward to the next book.

1) music

#OnThisDay in 1950 the world was introduced to the magical land of Narnia with the publication of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. The first glimpse of the story came to Lewis at the age of 16 when he imagined a fawn walking through a snowy wood. Many years later that fawn became Mr Tumnus and Narnia was born. Another beloved character didn't appear in the story's earliest drafts, can you guess who? #HistoryGetsLIT
Day 13 of #scarathlondailyprompts is witch.
As you can tell, this is a very old set. My husband had it as a kid. I read it as a newlywed. Our kids have also read this set. #TeamSlaughter #scarathlon
My fiancé and I enjoyed a little staycation this weekend near Hatchers Pass, AK and I was pleasantly surprised that the entire neighborhood had street names inspired by The Chronicles of Narnia! Our Airbnb was located on Aslan Cir., and some of the other streets I noticed were Tumnus, Caspian, and Dawn Treader. How cute!
Bonus: incredible views of the Chugach Range in the background.
Professor Kirke‘s house. It sounds like a great house on its own… and it has a portal to Narnia inside! 😁

✨Dancer. Writer. Model. Actress. Pilot. Nurse. ✨
These were all words to describe who Renie, my Grandmother, was; but her most treasured titles were Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. She lost her battle with cancer yesterday. She was 92 years young 😎She spent 40+ years as a nurse; in retirement she wrote psychology textbooks, devotionals, and poetry. She modeled for a few years, too. She loved to read, and the tagged book ⬇️
Finished the second book in Narnia series; I've read it before, also watched the movie but still enjoyed it a lot.
@TheAromaOfBooks This is my July #DoubleSpin but also the last read in #PromptMaze v2 (love it: over 30 books read for this maze): here are the last few reads in the maze, since last time I posted it.
