pickI've read this only once before, but I grew up with the Megan Follows miniseries. I have a goal to read all the Anne books this year, since I've only ever read this first one. It was nice to read Before Green Gables last month for the #KindredSpiritsBuddyRead and then go right into the "real thing." It was even better than I remembered it. ?

I enjoyed this book far better than I thought I would when I first started! I had trouble keeping up with what was happening in the beginning but when I started the Netflix series, it straightened things out! I admit I found myself skipping pages where Anne babbles on but aside from that, I enjoyed it! #GARBingo

pickAnne Shirley is a red-haired, high spirited girl who shows up instead of the boy that Matthew and Merrill‘s Cuthbert planned to adopt to help with chores on their farm. I loved Anne‘s imagination, spirit and adventures. She would make a great friend and would be a fun playmate. Great look at life on Prince Edward Island. Classic read for young and old.

pickI can't believe I waited so long to read this lovely book. I cried my way through the last 2 chapters, but I absolutely adore Anne and this story. So much love!
so-soI wanted to love this book... Really I did. The problem was I hated Anne in the beginning. I didn't fully enjoy her until almost 160 pages in. I normally give up after 100 pages, but because this is a classic I had to troop through. I'm glad I did because towards the end the book finally was enjoyable. I think the first half deserves ⭐️⭐️ and the last half deserves ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. On average though, to me, Anne of Green Gables was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️ novel...

When I was younger, I was introduced to a little girl named Anne. The book was HUGE to me (filled with books 1-3) and I felt like a rockstar when I finished. And I loved the stories. That's why Lucy Maud Montgomery is my Favorite Canadian Writer.
