This witchy retelling of Anne of Green Gables is utterly charming and stars Grace, an orphan who must complete a grimoire full of spells to become the witch of the wood‘s apprentice…or lose her magic. I loved the culturally diverse cast of characters, the magical twists on the classic story, and that more readers will encounter one of my favorite characters in literature! Highly recommended for fans of Netflix‘s Anne with an E, of course!

Another one down, and a very easy read! I remembered this book much differently and did not think I'd enjoy it, but in all honesty, I have no idea why I felt that way. A misplaced memory, perhaps. #bookeightof2024

I‘m slowly working my way through my library‘s supply of Anne of Green Gables retellings. In this one, the parallels were not quite as clear for all of the characters but I still ended up enjoying it. Chipper approves. 👍🏻 3.5⭐️

This is a beautiful book filled with gorgeous pictures of Prince Edward Island, many of them taken by LMM herself. I don‘t think there is anyone who is better at describing scenery than LMM and she has such an ability to transport you to another time. Highly recommended for fans of Anne, LMM or even if you just love flowers. 5⭐️

I continue to make my way through the Anne of Green Gables books 💚

This one was new to me.

This book comes up as book 4 in my Kindle collection, but I'm seeing that, according to Anne's age, Anne of Windy Poplars should have been next (??)

Either way, this was delightful, and I am sure to enjoy all of the books no matter which order I read them in.

BarbaraJean Anne of Windy Poplars was written later, so that‘s likely why this one is listed as # 4! Also I‘m not sure if Windy Poplars is in the public domain yet—the Kindle collection of Anne that I have leaves out both Windy Poplars and Anne of Ingleside, because they weren‘t yet public domain when the collection was published. 7mo
jdiehr @BarbaraJean Interesting...I'll have to check the titles in my collection. Thanks for sharing your knowledge! 7mo
BarbaraJean You‘re welcome! I‘d always assumed Montgomery wrote them chronologically—didn‘t realize she wrote Windy Poplars and Ingleside later until I got that Kindle collection and wondered why they weren‘t included! 7mo
