At times I loved her story and found her relatable, but others I felt annoyed by excessive millennial energy. This is a modern rags to riches story of the creator of the Nasty Gal clothing brand.

I‘m always a little skeptical about these “you can do anything if you just try” books, but Amoruso seems a lot more genuine than many super-successful young people. She doesn‘t shy away from talking about her mistakes and she makes it clear that her rise to the top wouldn‘t have happened without several missteps along the way.
I liked the memoir parts of the book but not her business advice so much.
“The concept of success is really weird. Is success building a beloved brand & business? Or is it how you handle yourself when it gets hard? Is success being in the right place at the right time—with the right voice, skill set, team, and drive to cobble it all together? Or is success figuring out how to tame the behemoth once it sprouts legs & sharp teeth?”
IMO we all have our own definition of success.

I'm thinking about writing a piece on Medium about girl bosses. It has occurred to me that I should read the book first. I am not looking forward to it, but I am sure it will be a learning experience.
A quick and easy read. While I can‘t say I got anything new or exciting out of the listen it still is great to hear about women building a great successful business.
This book was such a disappointment. I did a review in it on my Instagram page if you want to take a look. @readingglasses2415

So excited to read something non-pharmacy related! After months of studying for my boards, I can finally relax with some light reading 📚
Thank you so much @Clwojick for the awesome decal!!! I‘m amazed what you were able to create for me👱♀️🙌🏻♥️ And the added bookmarks were a fun bonus #LittensAreTheBest #BeInspired
I went into this book not knowing a thing about the author or her company. For #readharder2019 #businessbook. I actually liked it more than I expected. I don‘t think any of her advice is life changing, nor do I agree with all of it but she does have an interesting and unique story. I liked that she featured other #girlboss women as well
This was a quick and easy read, but I didn‘t find any of the information valuable. I pressed to finish it because I was too far in to not see it through, but I found the author to be redundant and self obsessed.
Let‘s give ourselves some credit. What are you most proud of? ✨I‘m a so very proud of myself for being a mom. On a professional level, I could never find my “thing”. Well, I found it. I‘m proud to be apart of this community, for working hard this year, but I couldn‘t have done it without you. My official website is up!! It‘s a work in progress. www.bookartbookmarks.com to see what you all have created. My Etsy is still up and running as well!
Awesome read! #Girlboss is inspiring to read and get ready to rock the new year with whatever it is you want to get done!
Today is my blog anniversary. Two years ago I wrote my first blog post. I was so excited and today I'm proud of myself. Blog became a part of my life.

3.3 stars! Maybe I was expecting a bit more from this book, but still it wasn‘t bad. I guess I just missed here something. Anyway I admire Sophia for what she built and for her brand NastyGal!

I finished this audiobook in one afternoon of #audiomealprepping.
Before this book, I had never heard of Nasty Gal Vintage, or Sophia Amoruso, and I am not really interested in the fashion world. But I thought Sophia gave good advice, in general. She talked about being a woman in a "man's world", how to be a good employee/boss, how to manage your money. I especially enjoyed her chapters on intentional thinking.
Each time you make a good decision or do something nice or take care of yourself; each time you show up to work and work hard and do your best at everything you can do, you‘re planting seeds for a life that you can only hope will grow beyond your wildest dreams. Take care of the little things—even the little things that you hate—and treat them as promises to your own future. Soon you‘ll see that fortune favors the bold who get shit done.
Morning guys! Yesterday late (before sleeping) I posted new post on my blog. It is about our Secret Santa that I organized in December. If you want to read it link is in my bio. Is written in slovenian language but if you open on your computer you have translate mode on your right side.

I went for a whole year without buying any books for myself, so I rewarded my self-control with a new book!
I'm in!!!! I joined BOTM! I love that there is a big community here and I'm so excited to read along with all you book lovers 📚
I actually read this book because I had heard Netflix was coming out with a series loosely based on it. I appreciated Sophia's anecdotes, many of which were funny and light-hearted, but more often than not the book came across to me as the cool girl who wants to pretend she's not. I'm in awe of what Sophia has done with Nasty Gal and all that she has accomplished in such a short period of time but #GIRLBOSS reads as inauthentic.
#GirlBoss was an amazing and very inspiring book! I'm so glad I decided to read it, I gave it 5/5 🌟 and I highly recommend reading it 😊 Review of this one will be up on my blog soon! ❤
#Sassy 💃🏻 #AndItsAugust | #Girlboss by #SophiaAmoruso #TBR but I have watched the #Netflix show! - By age 22 Sophia had dropped out of school, and was #broke, directionless, and checking IDs in the lobby of an art school—a job she‘d taken for the health insurance. It was in that lobby that she decided to start selling vintage clothes on eBay. Flash forward to today, and she‘s the founder of #NastyGal and the #founder and #CEO of #Girlboss. #TBR
This book was a fun summer read. I loved the attitude throughout the book and at some points I was laughing out loud! This was a quick read and a very enjoyable one. I thought it became a little dull at moments, but those few moments quickly passed. I loved how this book was more than a self-help book, but it actually told a story.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Very good read about Nasty Gal's creator Sophia Amoruso and all about her life growing up and how she created her business. Would definitely recommend if your wanting to become your own girlboss!

Sophia Armoruso is my absolute lady model who strived as a successful business woman! This book is a must read with some honest opinions and life lessons. It really inspired me to be the change I want to be not for anyone but for myself and if I ever want something done i need to try my hardest to persevere and have the will power. It's all in the mind anything is possible... whoops I posted it twice. 😬#girlboss
