so-soI know Sara J Maas said that this was a very personal book to write, but I found the beginning and middle dull. Seriously, I was bored to tears. Thankfully, the ending picked up and I couldn't wait to read the next book!!!!

I find Karou's collection of scars and tattoos beautiful in their own way. Expressing who she is and the pain she's faced, both physically and mentally.

I just wanted to say that her boyfriend is so messed up. Taking a job as a nude model just to spite her gas to be the most twisted way of stalking ever. I especially love when she made him itch like crazy!!
so-soI finished this book in less than 24 hours. The plot was okay until the end when the author revealed secret after secret some of which did not add up with the previous writing. It was overall a good book but I found the ending odd and unfulfilling even though there's a second and third book to the series.
pickThis is without question my favorite book in the entire world. It is filled with romance, action, anticipation, and bloodlust. The characters are witty, cunning, mischievous, bold, and just about as bad ass as it gets. A must read and I can't wait for the next book to come out. The ending was thrilling with so many reveals and twists to the ever changing plot. Sara J. Maas know how to weave together a story line and end with stunning cliff hanger.

I love the book, but I wish Lia was a little more aggressive. She lets Rafe tell her "no" when she needs to go warn her kingdom. Lia needs to stand up for her rights and not let her lover take control of her actions!!!
pickTo be honest I was pretty bored in the beginning. But as the book progressed it had my attention. The ending was quick witted and marvelously crafted. Reread it a couple towns just for the thrill!
pickA stunning read that captivated my attention fully. The way Amani handled being trapped in the Harem and still managed to help the rebels come up with a successful plan was amazing. She is a total girl power figure and had a strong group of female characters guarding her back. The characters were perfectly developed and her love interest was undeniable. Not to mention the ending that was bound to shock all who lay eyes on it.

pickThis book reflected the lives of multiple woman, all with their own personal issues. On the outside every character looks and seems perfect. It shows how hard life in the big city can really be. How it takes a group of strong loyal women who have your back through it all. This really inspired me.

panHonestly, I was really disappointed with the book. The story started out fine, but soon it became more of a romance book. She and Thomas find each other and depend on each other through a death defying competition!? Your already competing in a test for your life and your thinking about a guy? That was just to much to fast for me. And the ending was also a big failure in my opinion.
pickA fierce unrelenting young girl who is determined to be free and have her own state of mind in a world where that is considered an act of treason. She fights (tunnels) her way to the West so she can reunite her family once more. An inspiring story that will change the hearts of all those who read it.
The way the author didn't let you know which man was the prince or the assassin, shocked and angered me for some time. I admire her writing talent.
pickI am so glad my friend recommended this to me! It is a definite page turner. With a twisted love triangle, strong female characters, and a deadly competition. Not to mention the magic that lurks beneath the palace. Right below the glass.
