Grey: Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by Christian
Grey: Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by Christian | E L James
See the world of "Fifty Shades of Grey" anew through the eyes of Christian Grey. In Christian's own words, and through his thoughts, reflections, and dreams, E L James offers a fresh perspective on the love story that has enthralled millions of readers around the world. Christian Grey exercises control in all things; his world is neat, disciplined, and utterly empty until the day that Anastasia Steele falls into his office, in a tangle of shapely limbs and tumbling brown hair.He tries to forget her, but instead is swept up in a storm of emotion he cannot comprehend and cannot resist.Unlike any woman he has known before, shy, unworldly Ana seems to see right through him past the business prodigy and the penthouse lifestyle to Christian s cold, wounded heart. Will being with Ana dispel the horrors of his childhood that haunt Christian every night? Or will his dark sexual desires, his compulsion to control, and the self-loathing that fills his soul drive this girl away and destroy the fragile hope she offers him? This book is intended for mature audiences."

#SummerEndReadathon #SeriesLove2023 @Andrew65

I thought this was a fascinating look into the mind of Christian. The character development was outstanding. I really felt that Anna is truly putting him back together, so to speak. Christian called her his home and that was an apt description. I feel like, if you can set aside all the sex and just soak up the rest story then you can begin to understand all hurt, loneliness, confusion that Christian

TheSpineView Is feeling. His struggles with PTSD and still trying to find his place in the world gives you a lot of empathy for him. At least now, I understand why he is so controlling. 4⭐️ 1y

I've binged this book. I really enjoyed the first trilogy but its much more enjoyable being in Christians head than Anastasia's, so much more enjoyable in fact that I've downgraded my ratings on the other three books.

I read the 50 shades trilogy in 2014 so it's been a while and i don't remember the full details so well which I think added to the reading experience of this book as it felt quite fresh.

I really did enjoy this version. I have read the origin trilogy a few years back, but this opens up so much more light on why Christian is the way it is.
Thanks to these swaps for an amazing read.

You can read my review (a rambling thoughts) on my goodreads

AJones I agree, this last book according to Christian was almost unbearable. Maybe because I already knew the outcome. 🤷🏻‍♀️ The main three books were the best. Anastasia‘s perspective was much more adventurous. Now I want to watch the movies and compare it to the books. Have you watched the movies? If so, what did you think? 6y

Out of all of these books, I actually think I liked this one the most. I didn't love the others because I felt like they were all packing any form of depth. This one have you a little more fulfillment and I wonder if E L James maybe just wrote from the wrong point of view for the other books because I found this one much more enjoyable. I also listened to this one on audible versus reading it in print and thing that may have also made an impact.

maich Malo bolj spoznaš Christiana. Veš kakšne sanje ima iz preteklosti in kako vplivajo na njegovo psiho. Kaj občuti on do Anne, kako gleda na njo. Dosti stvari, ki jih v prvi knjigi ne razumeš oz. ki niso pojasnjene. Meni sta bili obe knjigi všeč. So pa zelo različni odzivi bralcev. 8y

GuiltyFeat Aren't there enough books and movies glorifying violence towards women without this retrograde silliness taking up shelf space? (edited) 8y
TheBookbabeblog84 @GuiltyFeat well I would not exactly call it glorifying violence against women. Did you actually read it? Or are you just making an assumption? 8y
TheBookbabeblog84 What do you know about the BDSM lifestyle? 8y
GuiltyFeat I've been working with professional and lifestyle kinksters for the past couple of years on one of the best known BDSM brands in the world. The common wisdom is that Ms James is clueless and, at least early on, Grey's treatment of Ms Steele fails the test of being safe, sane and consensual. 8y
TheBookbabeblog84 Well I am familiar with the lifestyle and I guess I know considered be safe, and sane. I can see why that was such a cause for alarm. The part that gets me is that Elena, the woman that introduces Christiana to the lifestyle, never was taken to task for molesting a 15 years child. The story makes me feel bad for Grey, this book explains a lot. 8y

FINALLY finished this book. Not gonna lie, it was very hard to get through. The sex scenes were excessive and the writing is so-so. However, the love story is where it's at. The reason I read these books was for the love Ana and Christian have and I can't get enough.
