This was amazing. I can‘t believe all that action happened in one book. It had my heart racing throughout the book. I can‘t wait to see what happens in the final book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Definitely enjoyed this one to continue the series. The addition of more characters made it more interesting to read. The book keeps the story going and still keeps in interesting at the same time. And it definitely keeper me wanting to read the series

I loved An Ember in the Ashes, then I enjoyed A Torch Against the Night and this one was OK? With each book I'm becoming a bit more detached like the characters. I don't think much happened in this book. While the author is definitely a fantastic writer, I'm not enjoying where this story is going. Hopefully the last book will turn things around.

IndianBookworm How was 'An ember in the ashes'? 2y
BookBelle84 @TheIndianBookworm The first book is definitely worth a read, it's fantastic! 2y
IndianBookworm @BookBelle84 thank you, will take your final word for the series after the fourth one.😁 2y

I really love these characters and especially how many strong female characters there are.

This didn't have that many thrilling moments and this was dark but I would have loved to have more scenes with different creepy creatures like we had in the first book.

The ending was really satisfying and it rewarded I still would have loved this to be a bit shorter.

3½⭐Ɱ◎◎ĐႽ…
»Fantasy w/ an epic high fantasy feel
»Inspired by the Ancient Roman Empire
»3 POVs
»War, strife, & death
»Magical powers, supernatural beings, & a splash of romance

Overall, this series has been brutally devastating yet ultimately satisfying. You never know what‘s going to happen or far she‘ll go with any given aspect of the story. With that being said, I‘m never able to be fully immersed in each book until I‘m at least 2/3's into it.

Been doing a reread of the whole Ember series in preparation for book 4. I have really enjoyed the audiobooks and I‘m super grateful for the refresher so that I can really enjoy the finale! These books are harsh and brutal but the characters are lovable and you root for them. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

And the story just keeps getting better. Sabaa Tahir is a fantastic author, able to keep building the tension, gives some excellent story climaxes, while still giving just a hint of cliffhanger to keep you wanting to get the next book.

I forgot to turn my timer off for most of the weekend so I got 78hrs in for #20in4 🤣🤣

I think my actually reading time was around 13hrs and most of that was spent with this one. It's getting interesting guys....I'm not sure I'm ready for the final book 😔

#bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks @Andrew65

TheAromaofBooks I've given up almost completely on timing myself for readathons 😂 I mostly do page-count goals now as they are somewhat easier for my brain to remember to track!! 4y
FantasyChick @TheAromaofBooks Haha that seems to be the method for a lot lately. I listen to so many audiobooks that page counts don't work for me but obviously neither is time 🤣 I need a new system! 4y
Andrew65 That‘s a lot! 🤣🤣🤣 Well done 👏👏👏🙌🥳🍾🥂🍾🥂 4y
TheAromaofBooks Well, I sometimes do complicated percentage conversations haha I don't do audiobooks, but I do read Kindle books, so I'll see how long the (paperback) book is according to GR & then figure out how much I've read from there - like I'm at 32% and there are 364 pages, so I've read 116 pages that day, or whatever. I get wayyy too geeky about it 😂 4y

I really enjoyed, probably more so that books 1 & 2

The direction of Elias story was really enjoyable & we get to see more of Helene as well & the struggles she experiences. I didn't enjoy Laia's POV as much in this book & she started to get on my nerves a bit

Helene is starting to become a character I admire as she never gives up & is single-minded in her objective & doesn't allow her grief & sorrows to overcome her

Another sold 4 star read

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️This was the book in the series that feels like where everything that can go wrong, does go wrong. This made it a little more difficult to enjoy reading, though Tahir‘s writing &storytelling was still very well done. The end of the book was fast paced & brutal & fascinating, and made up for the difficult journey that was the beginning of the book.I am really looking forward to finishing the series with book 4.& hoping for some happy endings!

1. Getting my cold weather clothes out of the attic, buying Macoun apples from the farm, and that extra hour of sleep! 2. Sarah J. Maas, Sabaa Tahir. 3. Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir (read it last month, but way creepier than what I‘m reading now). #WondrousWednesday

Why did no one warn me?! I NEVER start a series unless I know that it‘s already been completely published (thanks fantasy authors for doing this to me). Y‘all didn‘t tell me the fourth wasn‘t out yet! I raced through this book (not as good as the first two, but obviously still good) only to find I have to wait until December! The night bringer was an interesting twist, and I‘m hoping that Elias has better luck (I said that with book 2 though) 8/10

I loved the first, I liked the second, but the third I couldn‘t really relate to. The insufferably teen love story really annoyed me and kept the focus off the political and familial storylines. Also world building got a bit too ambitious for me. But I kept reading since I thought this would be the series finale, and then there was the cliff-hanger.... will i continue? Not sure... maybe if the cover goes back to the pretty design...

Linsy That‘s too bad... I was hoping I‘d like the third more than the second because the first was my fav! 4y
Heideschrampf @Linsy i mean, it wasn't BAD, but it can't keep up with the first by far :/ 4y
