This morning we welcome Wynn Ashley, our third grandchild and our son‘s second daughter. She‘s my reason for hope and a way to find beauty in this world. Which is much needed right now!

Non-book-related, but I have to share! I got to meet my grand-niece (great-niece?) this morning. 😍 My sister‘s oldest daughter welcomed her first baby, Evelyn Mae, yesterday morning, and today I took my dad over to meet his first great-grandchild. She‘s adorable and we are all in love!
I was lucky to squeeze this one in at the last minute. My hold became available with just enough time to finish this for January's #bookspinbingo! I rather enjoy Fannie Flagg. Interested to see where this series goes.

Sorry in advance for spamming completely non-book-related things, but I‘m in postpartum oxytocin delirium. Can‘t believe Clara, the impossible girl, finally came and she arrived bizarrely near perfectly. Even in the midst of a crazy world situation, I felt supported and totally equipped and she came on her own time with almost no medical intervention. She looks like a squishy alien (as one does) and I couldn‘t be happier!
Dena Nordstrom, of small-town America, is a woman whose future is full of promise, her present rich with complications, and her past marked by mystery. Thank heaven she has family and friends who are deeply #faithful to her.

Just finished rereading my favorite Fannie Flagg novel. Oh, I love all those down home folks in Elmwood Springs. Everyone has such heart and looks out for their neighbors. Remember when we lived in neighborhoods like that? This story takes on the ruthless tactics of the media and past secrets that could change our lives. A 5-Star Read! This is the first in Fannie‘s Elmwood Spring series. More, please! P.S. Found this autographed copy for only $2.
Not a lot of reading accomplished this weekend because I have been glued to my phone. My newest niece was born early this morning. I just got my brother‘s permission to share her picture. Cannot wait to meet her in person.
Always thrilled to spotlight a brand-new bookstore for #independentseveryday! Today it's Belmont Books, a fabulous addition to the Boston-area book community. I'll let Randy Susan Meyers tell you all about it - it's on her blog & in today's @shelfawareness . #bookstore #bookstorelove #authorsofinstagram #bookstagram #indiebound #kathycrowley #chrisabouzeid #randysusanmeyers #getindie
Thanks to @shelfawareness for #independentseveryday inspiration this morning - earlier this week I highlighted a bookstore that was closing, but now I get to highlight one opening! Neighborhood Books is a brand-new bookstore in Washington, Missouri. Give them a warm welcome, won't you? #bookstorelove #bookstore #indiebound #authorsofinstagram #bookstagram #happybirthday #getindie
A little break from horrors and thrillers 🌼🌺🌸🌼🌺🌸
This girl makes me happy. #FunFridayPhoto
Don't mean to steal any bookish thunder from Stephen King today, but let's also give a birthday shout out to Fannie Flagg! This awesome author has put a permanent smile on many faces (especially mine!) with all her heartwarming characters and humorous novels. Rock on Fannie! 🎂🎉👏🏻 #bookishbirthday
Since I couldn't fit my #alltimefaves in one photo, I thought I'd pay tribute to the trio of awesome authors who dominate my bookshelves. Anything they write, I will read! The books that first got me hooked: Lorna Landvik's "Patty Jane's House of Curl," Fannie Flagg's "Welcome to the World, Baby Girl" and Anne Tyler's "Ladder of Years." Oh, the life lessons they have taught me! ?#augustphotochallenge @TheSpinecrackersBookClub
