Another fun instalment in the Kendra Donovan series. Couldn‘t stop listening 💕
Another fun instalment in the Kendra Donovan series. Couldn‘t stop listening 💕
While a pick overall, this series is getting repetitive. It's a historical fiction whodunnit with a modern day heroine who has fallen through time - one who just happens to be an FBI profiler. The time travel angle is really only used to explain why everyone sees her as the strange American spinster who seems to know a lot about murder "for a woman", and who doesn't seem to jive with their expectations on how the "fairer sex" should behave. 3.5 ⭐️
Well done again, Miss McElwain. (Also this series has the most swoon-worthy covers. Gorgeous.)
A Valentine‘s Day #bookandbath! This new bamboo bath caddy was a #vday present from my bf who is away at work until next week. I am still enjoying this evening on my own for reading 😊
Here‘s my #BookandDinner for tonight! Having some ramen along with the tagged book.
It‘s been a long Saturday! So happy to finally chill out with a book. Probably won‘t get far tonight, but just looking forward to fitting in a few pages before falling asleep.
The third book in the series and I still like this story. Kendra Donovan is a kick a** FBI agent who finds herself falling through time to the 1800s. She must learn to blend into a culture that finds her odd to say the least. In this book she is solving a murder once again but without the forensic advances of her time. History bluffs and murder mystery fans will not be disappointed.
I really enjoy this series! I'm already looking forward to the next one!
With this third entry, this time travel/mystery series just gets better and better. And while I had figured out parts of it (including a BIG twist at the end), there were still some surprises in store too. Kendra is a strong, independent 21st-century woman frustrated by but navigating her way through a 19th-century England. It‘s a true pleasure to read how she does it, aided by her new cast of friends. 4.5/5⭐️
Keep ‘em coming! 😊💙
Another library book (yay!!!), this one is the third entry in the “In Time” series about a modern-day FBI agent who finds herself stranded in early 19th century England solving crimes (stealthily) using her 21st century brain/methods. I loved the first two books and am looking forward to this new adventure with Kendra. And happy to see on Amazon that there‘s a fourth due out next summer. 🎉🎉🎉😍
This series just gets better and better. Pretty cover, kickass heroine, plenty of intrigue, and a twist almost at the end I wasn't expecting.
This really caught my attention because I love books that:
1. Teach me something new AND
2. Teach me something relevant to current day issues.
Pretty dresses ✔

Time travel ✔
Bad ass female protangonist ✔
Action, mystery ✔

I've really enjoyed this series for both the time travel aspect and the mystery. This one took longer to really capture my interest. It seemed like a lot of set up for the central mystery even though it happened right away. Once it got going it was good. There's some movement on the issue of how she got stuck back in time, so that makes me interested in what comes next.

I don‘t have the proper words to express how much I loved this book. With each book this series got better and better and McElwain truly outdid herself this time. The twist at the end was shocking and I actually had to stop reading for a moment so my mind could catch up!! This book gets all the stars! 5/5⭐️
The best one yet in this series. I enjoy these books so much. I cannot wait for the next one.
I am in a minor reading slump, so hoping this lifts me out of it. I have enjoyed this series so far.
#3 in the Kendra Donovan series by Julie McElwain. FBI agent Donovan is still stranded in 1815, and finds herself in the middle of another murder investigation after Luddites break into a mill and the manager is found dead.
I've been enjoying this series. The time travel premise was a little strange at first, but it's fun watching Donovan react to the customs she finds ridiculous, and manage to solve crimes without any modern conveniences.
Finally found some time to read! I loved that this book seems to be moving the series forward. Great mystery too. Also I start back to school tomorrow- I love the first day of kindergarten...and I dread the first day of kindergarten 😂 #teachertired #teachersoflitsy
Book 3 in this series, I didn't have many expectations. I love the premise, FBI profiler thrown back in time, but to me there hasn't seemed like a lot of forward movement and a lot of time stuck on the "man out of time" trope. However I was pleasantly surprised by the twist that comes in near the end which gives me hope that book 4 may get the momentum of been looking for.
A great addition to the series, even though I guessed the perpetrator and the reveal. There's movement forward in Kendra's personal storyline as she is still coming to grips with being stuck in the past.
I love these books. They are perfect for quick, fun, mystery, history, time travel, romantsy reads.
Yay!!!!! I loved the first two books in this series, so I'm super excited that my order showed up today.
This series has murder mysteries, historical fiction, a character trapped in the wrong time, and more!

I‘m only 3 chapters in and some Luddites have made an appearance, so I‘m pretty content so far.
Spent the morning writing curriculum for sidehustle no.1, and now time to do some reading for sidehustle no.2. (I review for Shelf Awareness.) And in between, I‘m washing sheets & making beds! Pretty flowers provided by awesome husband for no particular reason. 🙂
For some reason, my yogurt is not coming to a boil on its own tonight. So, reading one-handed while I stir.
1. BEING LOCKED OUT OF LITSY FOR TWO DAYS. Gah. I finally just had to delete and then reinstall. Sorry to leave you hanging!
2. Snacks! 🙂 I‘ve been experimenting with different protein/granola bars lately.
3. I enjoyed McElwain‘s first two, even if they‘re a bit farfetched. Interested to see where the series goes!
4. Pizza. 🍕 😋
