April's Doublespin was another delightful romp in the Parasol Protectorate series.
I'm doing quite well this year, though I did use one of my two #vetos for April's #bookspin choice.

“Her laboratory was everything that was to be expected from an inventor of her character and reputation—very large, very messy, and very, very interesting.”
Such a fun series. I think I have one to go 🤔 Alexa always makes me laugh and I love all the paranormals! #bookspinbingo
I‘m hoping to finish up another book or 2 since I‘m reading maybe 7 right now 🤯🤪
A re-read so I know how the cliffhanger from the previous book ends and I also know that those books make me crave tea and food... So there I am all set ;)
I thought going in I wouldn‘t like this much as much as the first two as they main couple were not together for most of it, but it was delightful. I love this comedy of manners with supernatural creatures and a super literal dry heroine.
Book 15 of the year.
Mar 4: husband tours house in New Town. It's fucking perfect. Everything on our Need, Want, AND Nice To Have lists. EVERYTHING.
Mar 5: make offer on said house.
Mar 6: offer accepted.
Mar 7&8: open house weekend on house in Old Town. (please please please sell quickly! I'm freaking. out. So many things all at once)
Not quite sure what's going on with the book? Hoping for another to wrap things up. Still a pick.
This whole series is just delightful and fun on audio - Victorian steampunk with vampires, werewolves, and killer mechanical ladybugs. Oh, and this one has Templars, too. I'm almost sorry it's over, but now maybe I'll stop grinning like a loon while sitting at my desk at work. So entertaining.
In my balancing act finished this fun fluffy cozy steampunky book. It is a good thing I was reading this while trying to read swamplandia (the most depressing book I have read in a long time). So three cheers for The Parasol Protectorate. Book 2 for #bookfitnesschallenge #bfc
And now onto the one that makes my heart hurt. From the end of Changeless to the middle of Blameless, I just want to cry. 😭😭😭
Bit behind on reread. Finished Blameless yesterday. Favorite Quote is courtesy of Madam Lefoux: "You, sir, are a bad scientist!" Hopefully Genevieve approves of my new hat.?

I love spring flowers! 💐🌷🌹🌺🌸🌼
The #ParasolProtectorate read along continues - this one started on 4/8. We‘re getting closer to the books I‘ve not read AND to the end of the series.
Up next. I am addicted to this series.❤️❤️
@minkyb - I'm afraid I might give you a run for your money on boring! 😂😂
1. Nothing. With luck, I won't even get out of my pjs.
2. Meeting my wife.
3. See above!
4. Harriet Tubman - she's such a badass!
5. @nu-bibliophile #FRIYAYINTRO @TheSpineView
Terribly fun romp! I love these little adventures. This one took me to France and Italy, meeting more scientists and even Templars. Wheeeeee!
3.5 - 4 ⭐ (I'm undecided)
I love the Parasol Protectorate books, but I didn't like this as much as the first two. At times, it felt like a bit of a chore to get through. I found myself getting bored. I think it may have been the lack of banter between Alexia and Lord Maccon. I'll continue with the series though.
Ohhhhh this was soooooo sooooo good!!! I think I may like this one the best yet!!! The third in the series! I can‘t say it enough how much I love this series and all the characters in it! I was shocked by so many of the events that happened in this book and i will be downloading the next book before I head to bed!! All my audible credits have been going to this! The narrator is just INCREDIBLE!! I recommend this to everyone!!! Start with Soulless!
I finally got this one, and read it in a day and a half. A much better ending than the last one, and the previous issues resolved. Some interesting new tidbits for the next book to explore as well.
#BookishBingo category: There's a dramatic family dinner
I have so much love for this series. This book did not disappoint. It‘s just so fun. I can‘t wait for the next one!
Just another exciting Saturday night. After this week, I really needed some relaxing me time.
I‘m already over winter. This weather is making me feel a little SAD. So I pulled this book off the TBR. I love this series. Gail Carriger always makes me laugh. I‘m going to have a little me time. And I‘m going to eat this whole giant honey crisp apple all by myself.
If I were Alexia, I would have then gone around licking everything I could just to spite the Templars. But I'm contrary that way.
Blameless has all the good things of the previous books and yet expanded the world! I spent the whole book growling at Lord Maccon... #steampunk #fantasy
This series is just so entertaining. I‘m glad that this book took care of the cliff hanger in the previous one and I‘m looking forward to the next book.
I‘m on quite a roll with the #parasolprotectorate series! I finished the third book tonight and am loving it. I had to jump right into this one after a cliff hanger in the last and managed some beach reading while my family frolicked in the water. Thankfully Amazon is delivering me the next two books tomorrow! #79of2018
🐺🧛🏻♀️
My #July #tbr. It might be a touch ambitious but I‘d really like to finish my #PopSugarChallenge this month as well as get caught up with #TheGreatLibraryChapteraDay group.
I‘ve been thoroughly enjoying my first real foray into #steampunk fantasy! And now I‘m waiting for the last two installments to arrive! At least I‘m only waiting on #bookmail and not on the #PaperbackWriter 😄😄😄#HeyJune @GypsyKat
Another fun read in the Parasol Protectorate series. So here are some celebratory parasols for you - thanks to Google! I love that a parasol is a handy weapon in this tongue in cheek series
Another engrossing story in the Parasol Protectorate series. This one is a bit darker than the previous two, but still a lovely tale.
Gail Carriger posted Blameless extras on her site! Afternoon sorted 😁 #ParasolProtectorate #Parasolverse 🖤🌂
Well, Littens, most all is right with the world again. Though I mourn for our dear Vampire Dandy's loss, I have no doubt he will find a way to recover what was his. I devoutly hope there is more to this series!
Conall is "pickled beyond the gerkin".
Alexia, Gienvieve, and Floote go on a road trip and discover the joy of pesto.
Poor Biffy is in a spot of bother and Professor Lyall is a Saint.
I love these books! ?????
#bewareItalianswhoembroider
Vampires are allergic to garlic; werewolves to basil. #pestotheperfectweapon 😉
Alexia took a tentative sip and was quite overwhelmed by an acute sense of betrayal. It was absolutely vile tasting, a mixture of quinine and burnt dandelion leaves. “That, I am to assume, is the infamous coffee?” Madame Lefoux nodded, pouring herself a splash and then adding a good deal of honey and milk. Alexia could not believe a whole hive of honey capable of rescuing the foul drink. Imagine preferring that to tea! #teadrinkerinacoffeeworld
“I remembered that awful thing I had heard about Italy.” Ivy dabbed at the corner of one eye with her handkerchief in an excess of sentiment. “What I heard… Oh, I can hardly speak of it… I heard that in Italy they drink”—she paused—“coffee.” She shuddered delicately.
#hard2beteadrinkerinacoffeeworld
"Italy?”
“The hotbed of antisupernatural sentiment,” spat Professor Lyall.
“The cesspit of religious fanaticism,” added Tunstell."
Back to reading. Tea solves everything, don't you know? #24in48 #readathon
