1/Neil Gaiman. He signed my copy of The Graveyard Book. The woman in front of me had brought all the volumes of The Absolute Sandman with her for him to sign. I said that I loved mine but would never have brought them. He said, “I know! They are so heavy!” And they truly are — beautifully made with gorgeous paper and inks though.

It's going into show season, so we've been super busy, but I have managed to get some reading done. Right now I'm re-reading the Sandman books before I watch the show.

Our big news is that we accidentally got a new reading buddy. This is Crumpet, a year old tordico stray that had decided being a house cat is awesome. She's already joined #KAL and enjoys napping on my arm when I'm trying to read, and annoying her brothers.

I don‘t collect Funko Pops; I only have one, Faith from Buffy, that my daughter bought me. She just bought me these two — Dream and Death. I‘m so excited!❤️

My spouse has been on me to read Sandman for ages and I'm finally getting to it courtesy of their giant tomes. Loving it so far.

Unique, interesting story. Gory and dark, for sure. I expected dark but too dark for me in several instances. I didn‘t know Neil Gaiman wrote comics until I saw this on a graphic novel list. Cool twist at the end about Death. The Sandman/Dream is a cool character. Might read the sequels.

I loved everything. The magical and dark plot. The trippy art. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/5.

I just found out The Sandman series is going to be released on audible in July... and the cast is pretty amazing. I‘m intrigued to see how well this comic series translates to audio. I‘m here for it, tho!

What a quick turnaround! Yesterday internet news outlets were all like “Hey, Sandman might become a Netflix show, but it will most likely fall apart like all the movie attempts, right guys?” and today the headlines are more “Um, it looks like this is actually a for real thing that is happening.”

I can‘t conceive of how this series could be placed into a little 8-13 episode box, and I don‘t envy those whose job it is to try.

Bk7 of my #24in48 #readathon is the 30th Anniversary Edition of The Sandman-Preludes&Nocturnes. I‘ve been wanting to pick this up for ages so when I saw this edition I had to have it. With just under 2hrs to go I‘m hoping to read this before finishing out the ‘thon with Ruby Ridge.

Busting out this tome for this weekend's #24in48 readathon!
I fell in love with this book a good few years ago when it took my breath away in a book store. I spent some of my rent money on it (too much, actually!) but it was totally worth it. The stories and artwork are stunning.

Those of you who follow my sagas closely enough may have pieced together that I traditionally eat like a 5-year-old whenever my husband is out of town. Tonight I had specifically planned a romantic poptart dinner date with Sandman - but SOMEONE who lives off of salad with no dressing all day because he‘s on some kind of medieval diet got to them before I had a chance. AND drank all the milk! 😡 So I guess it‘s raw cookie dough and rum tonight!

The library raid seems to have helped kill my reading slump, at least for now! Had a “do nothing” rainy day today and I put some good dents in 2 books. 👍

I only have a week or two left before my job claims my soul again, so I‘m desperate to get out of my current reading slump now before it‘s too late!! So I raided the library and walked out with this pile. One of these should do the job!!

We have some big, big books in our collection. The Hobb books we buy in Hardcover, because we love them so much and we have to get them right away. I haven't read the Sandman comics, myself, that's my husband's thing, but I bought the Absolute Sandman collection for his birthday a couple of years ago.
