Wow! What a compelling debut novel by Joanne Tompkins. This story touched my heart and I‘m certain I will be thinking of these characters for a long time. This is a truly wonderful story about life after a horrific tragedy that deals with loss, grief, hope, forgiveness, family, personal growth and perseverance.

I‘ve been in reading slump for a couple months and this fast paced, suspenseful book did the trick of getting me back on track with my reading! Fun read about suburban moms behaving badly and murder. Highly recommend!

I love TJRs books. This was a fast read with a tragic love story and a coming of age story about four siblings. Although this isn‘t one of my favorites it was still an enjoyable reading experience and I do recommend it.

I was hooked from the first page to the last. I felt sad, angry, hopeful and happy. I felt all the feelings at one point or another while reading about Janes journey. This story takes place on an isolated farm in the UK and we follow Jane who is being held captive by a monster. This book is dark & intense and definitely worth the read.

It took me more time than usual to finish this book. I wasn‘t completely captivated and found myself struggling to pick it back up. However, I pushed through and was pleasantly surprised that I ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would. Although it‘s not a favorite I‘m still glad I read.

I liked it but didn‘t love it. The small cliffhanger at the end does have me anticipating the next book in the series. I feel like this book set up a lot of ground work for the rest of the series and I know that was necessary but it made the book move a little slow for me.

I love this book. I love the cover design. I stayed up until 2am to finish it because I didn‘t want to put it down. I highly recommend it. A perfect book to read in October 👻

This book is twisted. I was hooked from beginning to end. If you‘re looking for a thriller that‘s truly messed up and fast paced this is the one for you.

I liked this book. It had a few slow spots and at times I felt my attention slipping away but I stuck with it and ended up liking the story overall.
It‘s the first book in a new series by Mary Burton and I will be continuing with this series.
Siblings, a fortune, murder, a road trip and Samantha Downing.....need I say more?!?! I truly enjoyed it. It‘s a 4.5/5 star book. I will admit I have a love/hate relationship with the last three sentences of this book.
At this point I will read anything Samantha Downing writes.
