This was my #Doublespin for March and I put it on ice a few weeks ago. I‘m officially calling it a bail. I‘m curious about two things but not enough to read the last 39%. I‘m going to put my questions under a spoiler and if any of you have read it maybe you will respond. None of the GR spoiler reviews helped, lol.

It wasn‘t what I expected but was a pretty good retelling.

Bellamy takes a summer job babysitting at the Baldwin house. She has free reign of the house, but can‘t go on the third floor. She knows that must be where Tate lives, in seclusion since he became ill. She knows what it is like to have people whisper about you, since her dad is known for seeing ghosts 👇🏻

Last day of #FabulousFebruary so I don‘t think I will be meeting my goals! The 2 I started have taken me longer than I thought 🤣

I am 34% through On Heroes and Tombs, so I am not going to finish this one today!

I haven‘t started Easy Bake Coven yet, but I am 36% through Bellamy and the Brute.

So my plan is to try finish off Bellamy and the Brute today as well as doing my chores and some baking! :)

My current view

This was a quick read and a fun retelling of Beauty and the Beast. I probably won‘t buy the sequel at full price, but will be looking for it on sale.

I went back and forth between the paper book and the ebook while breastfeeding and putting the kids to bed. Seriously, I feel like I spent 90% of my “free” time waiting for kids to fall asleep... thank god for ebooks!

The reviews on this are about 50/50. Some like it and some don‘t. But you can‘t beat free! 😂 this has been sitting on my TBR mountain for about a year.

I did some Saturday morning wake up math and discovered only 34% of my 439-volume TBR is books I bought. The rest is digital freebies or stuff people gave me and I still haven't read.

This VERY IMAGE of my unread 2018 acquisitions features 2 loaners and 3 digital freebies. Clearly, I need to quit grabbing whatever's on offer.

That said, I bought 5 of the above books because I liked the author's freebie. They CAN work, if you read them.

Can the weekend be a success if I didn‘t meet the goal? You betcha!! I finished 3 fantastic books and made progress on others. Thanks you @24in48
The tagged book was my companion for most of yesterday and it was quite good. If you like, YA, mystery, a little romance, a good retelling and GHOSTS! This rings all those bells, enjoy!

I thought this was "meh." It was entertaining but it read like fanfiction. It was a quick read and not horrible but I won't be reading any others. I didn't like Bellamy or Tate enough to continue this. Also, why is everyone just so cool with there being ghosts? I'd think I was losing my mind.

This is between ??.5 & ??? for me. It doesn't deserve just a 2 because I cared enough to keep going.

This was just a so-so for me, mostly because of the teenage lovey dovey stuff. I skimmed through a lot of it. Blah. But the ghost/mystery part was really good. What kept me reading was to find out about what actually happened.

This is only book related in that I'm popping these like pills while I'm reading. I can't stop, they're so good. I'm going to have to run 50 miles this week to make up for it. 😕😬 btw.. I'm not a pill popper. 😛

An interesting YA mystery/contemporary retelling of Beauty and The Beast. It was a decent retelling - not your mamas retelling that's for sure! Mystery deaths, phantom rose petals and a mysterious illness plaguing the towns prior golden boy...

This prompt for #Characters2017 was difficult for me.
Then I thought about Bellamy. She's loyal, somewhat introverted, puts her family first, loves working in her bookstore, loves to read & she didn't think twice about being in an interracial relationship (like me-married almost 18 yrs). #kindredspirit

I'm usually skeptical about modern takes on classic fairytales, but this was well written and really kept my interest from beginning to end.

Starting this one tonight. This is another from my #tbr list. I have to have at least one current read on my nook so I can read no matter where I am (since I can use my phone). 🤓📚

This was so cute! There were times I was not as into it in the middle but this quick read was fun and I really enjoyed the ending! I love beauty and the beast and this retelling was really imaginative, having all the elements in a way that made more sense in the settting. I think I'll definitely pick up the next in the series.

Since it's doesn't look like I will be going to the game today😔 because the skies have opened I will join the #readathon. I know I won't finish all of these this weekend but I'm looking forward to trying. 😀

For another diverse read, this Beauty and the Beast inspired tale features a black teen as Beauty. This looks excellent and has been on my TBR for a while.

One of the best BATB retellings I have read!!
