Knocked another one off my TBR pile. A suspenseful, page turner that leaves you wondering what will happen next. It gave me Maze Runner vibes. 4 💫

I've read Blake's newer books yet never got around to this trilogy.
Here we find another compelling page-turner about a Secret Service agent sent to a small town to investigate the disappearance of two other agents. I have mixed feelings about the ending of book #1, yet not enough to diminish the enjoyment I experienced while reading it.
If you are a fan of Twin Peaks (a show that heavily inspired this trilogy), you'll enjoy this.
Just finished reading this, and rushing through this review so I can start the second book in the series.
This book is crazy bananas. The more Blake Crouch I read, the more I think that I may really like the Science-Fiction genre. Then again, maybe it's just the Crouch is such an amazing writer. There were no dull moments, that's for sure.
I definitely did not see this plot twist coming 🤯

Of course, Colorado was going to be hardest to find for me, as I'm not a citizen of North America. But today, when determining what to read next, I found this in the flap of the tagged book.

Finished a book today, now trying to be strategic : can I finish this one before Sunday and add one to my yearly count ?
I am obsessed with Blake Crouch's writing. Every time I finish one of his books, I'm so impressed by his adept ability to place his characters in a mind-bending yet horrifically plausible world. This one his especially close to home as it's set in Idaho where I lived for 25 years. He did a wonderful job describing the landscape and his depictions of Boise later on in the story were especially chilling for me. 10/10 recommend this book.
This book was so confusing at first. Then it was bizarre. And now that‘s I‘m through it I don‘t know what to think of it. But I‘m going to read book #2 now to see what happens next.
Ethan Burke goes to Wayward Pines to investigate missing agents. It may start like a combination of Twin Peaks / X-Files, but it quickly turns to something much darker, creepier. I enjoyed the first book of this trilogy so much that I have reorganized what I am reading so I can read the next two and finish the series this week.

When my library announced the audio purchase of this series in months rather than the next Tuesday, Intrigued, I placed holds on all three books. I was fascinated by this tale and can‘t wait for my next hold to drop. Something seemed familiar so I did some googling to realize I binge-watched a Hulu adaptation a couple summers ago while overnight dog watching with son‘s streaming services. So for book2 Matt Dillon will dance in my head!
This book was my gateway to my Blake Crouch obsession. It was like Lost meets Twin Peaks and I couldn‘t devour it fast enough. Blew my mind! Highly recommended backlist title. Thanks for the tag! Any who wants to play is officially tagged as well. 😍📚. #alphabetgame. #LetterP
Thank you @guinsgirlreads ! Everything is awesome! I was just looking at buying the audible version of Pines😁 The gnomes are so cute😍 💖 #LLFS @bookgoil @rsteve388

Secret service agent Ethan Burke arrives in Wayward Pines, Idaho, trying to locate and recover two federal agents who went missing in the this town one month earlier. Ethan is involved in a violent accident and arrives in the hospital where strange things begin to happen to him. Soon Ethan‘s investigation into the disappearance of his colleagues turns up more questions than answers.
5 STARS ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you have to read the book without really knowing what it is about! You are in for a treat! People kept telling me for years to read this book but I never listened. I feel bad now because this book will blow your mind. To keep it simple: A federal Agent is set out to find two fellow missing agents and he finds himself in a small, idyllic town named Wayward Pines. A typical American small town. With a secret. A big secret.
What a wild ride, what a great story. Black crouch does an excellent job of brining the reader into the story and making you wonder if you missed something about the story.. making you try to guess, but your guesses are wrong. They are so very wrong. Part of the story are revealed slowly over the course of the book and it is so well done, you are at the edge of your seat till the very end.
Started the series recently and liked it so much I got the book. Both are very good!
First time I tried to read psychological thriller, m not disappointed. The first half of the book good but confusing, but slowly I got the hang of it. It‘s about a detective who wakes up after an accident in a place without ID, n gets stuck in that weird place. But whether he regains his memory n normal life? At d end I felt there r too much details , still good writing style. Real page Turner 3.5🌟

⭐⭐⭐⭐ I've decided that Blake Crouch is my favorite author. I knew nothing about the book... other than it was probably a psychological thriller. And WOW! I had no idea what was going on. Was he crazy, was the town crazy, am I crazy?
I was not at all disappointed.

Fiction
I realized that the author was very descriptive about everything that he was talking about, from the first chapter to the chapter that I am on right now. Once in a while, the author uses figurative language, he might‘ve added more figurative language but I missed them. I like his way of writing because in the end of some chapters he uses suspense and it makes me want to read further and she what will happen next.
Right November 2020, let's be havin ya!
I finished this #BookSpinBingo book a couple days ago. I ended up really liking it, and I plan to read the next two books in November. Great creepy story that kept me interested from start to finish.

Fiction:
There has been 3 places that the story has been taken in, the central part of the city, the hospital, and Ethan‘s hotel room. If the book took place in an abandoned forest, that would be very interesting because stating the fact that he didn‘t know where he was, he would have to figure out where he was and how to get out of there. I‘m not sure where the story should take but maybe where Ethan‘s partner is.

Fiction:
I have read more than 3/4 of the first chapter. The characters are Miranda the barista, Mack Scozie, Jane, and Agent Stallings. The injured man went to the coffee store to ask the barista if she knew him and she didn‘t, so she went to this random guys house and he passed out in front of the stranger‘s house. His name was Mack and his wife, Jane, and they helped him get to a hospital and then the man remembered Agent Stallings.

Wayward Pines, Idaho, is quintessential small-town America — or so it seems. Secret Service agent Ethan Burke arrives in search of two missing federal agents, yet soon is facing much more than he bargained for. After a violent accident lands him in the hospital, Ethan comes to with no ID and no cell phone....
Wayward Pines is small, isolated, and seemingly perfect. But when Agent Ethan Burke finds he can't leave, things start getting very weird... So I loved the unsettling Twins Peaks vibe and the mystery had me hooked. I HAD to know what the hell was going on! Not sure the ending worked for me, though, and the plot was very action heavy with lots of running, climbing, and fighting. Not one to read before bed because it stressed me out!
Part Mayberry, part The Purge, part... something else, but that would spoil it! this story kept me turning pages. There were times I second guessed what was really going on, and I never did fully figure it out. Some of the scenarios ran a little long, but just as I was starting to wonder when it would end, it did.👇🏽
Substituting the tagged book for no. 13‘s April #bookspin
I haven't seen the show, but knew what the plot twist was at about 20%.
Not going to read the other two books.
Turned the speed up to 1.7 (I get it now, @DannyHattan) the pitch is a bit high, though.

Another page turner from Blake Crouch that I enjoyed a lot. Same as in Dark Matter, he keeps finding twists and turns to keep it interesting and the action going. I didn't like everything in it but overall it's a good read, especially that I didn't guess the ending.
Hmm... this was just exhausting. Too many long, laborious scenes littered with incomplete sentences. It took so long to get to the point.
Some very tasty #LitsyPartyOfOne snacks! On a Blake Crouch Recursion hangover I picked this up from the library on a whim. It's due back soon so I'm hoping to get through some of it tonight as well!

Blake Crouch never let's me down! I love his newer books and I've been meaning to grab some of his older work for so long and I'm glad I finally did.
This reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode....creepy, unsettling and completely unnerving
The Master of Mind F*ck has done it again (or already....this is an older book....whatever...you know what I mean 😂)

Not quite tired yet but getting there. This has been on my TBR for a long time so no time like the present to get started.
This isn't a long one so let's see how far I get before I drift off or my ereader dies. Whichever comes first 😂

Pines by Blake Crouch is a very engaging and fun read. Lots of suspense and sweating involved. I‘m excited to read the second book in the trilogy (Wayward Pines) so I guess that‘s got to be a good sign!
June of this year Blake Crouch released his new book Recursion. It was a total mind bender and I loooooved it. So I was totally stoked to find out he actually has a trilogy that revolves a small town in Idaho that is MUCH more than it seems.
I was even more stoked when I realized all 3 books are on Kindle Unlimited FOR FREE. 🤤#kindleunlimited #kindle #ereader #waywardpines
Well this wasn't what I expected! I thought this was something close to David Baldacci but it ended up more like The Maze Runner. I think this is a good book but the first part could learn something from The Maze Runner. I think it could have given the reader a bit more info and/or breathing breaks to make it more interesting right from the beginning. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series! 😊
I had the remainder of an Amazon gift card I had a hankering to burn through so I picked up a few today, including the tagged series. My boyfriend just finished the first book and thought I would enjoy. You can get the whole series for Kindle for only $5!
The start and ending were interesting, but I zoned out during the middle part. Not sure uf I'll pick up the next two books.
I loved this book. It was fast paced with lots of twists. It kept me guessing all the way through. Was well written. I will definitely be reading the rest of the books in this series 😀 #books #kindle #bookreview #blakecrouch
