Hope everyone is healthy and soaking up the rays & reads this summer! It's been quite a while! So much has happened but hopefully things are getting better.

Been having a huge reading slump. But...I just finished reading this 📕 yesterday! Yay!

Still not sure how I feel about it. Much of the book was predictable & the ending didn't feel satisfying, but there was one surprise element.

How about you? Any 5⭐ reads lately?

I miss you so much it hurts. My heart still calls for you every day. I still love you, Reese. I always will.

#Readathon Update:
So I finished Fraternity by Juan Díaz Canales and, oh my goodness, the violence in that graphic novel was so...graphic. I wasn't expecting that, but still the story was interesting.

I also finished Skyward Vol 2: Here There Be Dragonflies by Joe Henderson! I really like this series & definitely plan to read Vol. 3!

Now I'm continuing Grace and Fury by Tracy Banghart.

Finished reading this prequel to The Confectioner Chronicles series a short while ago!
It follows Hale's saga of how his family fell from grace into a horrible pit of devastation & how he helped piece it back together again. All while he annoys you to tears!
Hoping to start The Confectioner's Guild soon--which, ICYMI, happens to be FREE this weekend! But sale ends today!

True, I spoiled some of twisty secrets for myself before I got 1/3 of the way thru but Ciccarelli still managed to surprise SO much! And even bring me to tears. She's a monster!😭

Meant to post again yesterday, but got super engrossed in my books. And in growling at everyone who interrupted me, at the worst moments. 😅 One was this comic.
Echo, a 13-year-old Metis girl, is separated from her mother & trying to adjust to a new home & school. One who begins falling in & out time! Cycling between past & present, she's slowly learning more of her culture & its history.

Wellll...I finished Bird Box. Which was really...disturbing. Creepy. But very engrossing. Not just a horror but a psychological thriller.
So much is going on in this book. It brings up concerns about the fear of man (which seemed more frightening than the creatures everyone hid from), & facing madness or letting it slowly eat away at you. And, throughout, the varied, unusual ways people reacted to the chaos & the creatures.

Pretty good read! Really kept my interest. Although I had some clue of what was going on, Ware kept me guessing about so much for a while. Which is hard to do. (I'm so suspicious of everyone in mysteries. I'd probably accuse a leaf of a crime.😅)

Been switching between this and The Book of M by Peng Shepherd for a while. On to a new book!

Finished reading Ms. Marvel, Vol. 3: Crushed & 💛💛💛! I connect sooo well w/ Kamala. Love her personality, her story, & everything she represents. Feels like a book bestie...even though she's much younger than me. (Wish this series was around when I was younger. But so happy for the girls that get to read it now.)
Anyway...I'm continuing the series with Vol. 4: Last Days for #24in48. Concerned about this cover though. Looks pretty devastating.😕

Finally got a chance to read Binti! (Thanks #24in48!) And let's just say Nnedi has a new fan! Whether she wants one or not.
And now I must read all her books. ALL of them! 😍
I 💛 Binti! Feels like I made a new friend! And the world she lives in is so imaginative, so exciting. (Evidently, I love stories with living spaceships.) The storytelling is excellent. And I love a plot I can't predict.
Problem though. I don't have the rest of this series.😢

Starting this book for the #24in48 Hour #Readathon. I'm so excited about this intriguing #ya #fantasy about sin-beasts, sin-eaters, potential madness, & conspiracy. I mean, doesn't that just sound like an incredible story?
Definitely became more interested in this book after reading This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab...which I LOVED! So, I'm really hope I'm in for another treat!
