Yes, we need libraries!

I loved this book..felt like I was right there, very in detail! I would love to see it on the big screen!

I adored the mythos of this story, the inspiration from Indian culture was fresh and textured with opulent settings and colors. Our duo of heroines battled through desperate circumstances, the narrative sweeping you along with it. I appreciated that ultimately their fates were always their own to shape. However, this novel struggled to find a consistent thread of growth for its characters and was overshadowed by flimsy character back stories.

The concept for this #ya novel is fantastic, so I had high hopes. I‘m sorry to say that it was just okay. I felt like this book had so much potential but the actual follow-through was lackluster. I think I needed it to be bigger with more world-building and more complex relationships. Essentially, I wanted a better execution of the excellent premise. #fantasy #yafantasy

I haven't read much Indian folklore, but this book felt like folklore to me. I enjoyed the characters, and enjoyed watching Amrita morph from privileged child to selfless adult. The fantastical elements of the story worked well.
Favorite quote: "You've sacrificed yourself for the greater good. How do you think gods and goddesses are created?"

I was perturbed about the political jab in the intro. I read books to get away from the world! After getting over that, I found this to be a fantastic journey. A slow start had me bored. Rhythmic characters and world building were wonderful. Creative and well-paced action. You must believe in magic and the unknown to read and appreciate the Library of Fates! 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Everyone's preparing for the big storm here in the north east. At 7pm schools were already calling closings for tomorrow. As a hospital employee I am required to try my hardest to get into work. Maybe my outpatients will cancel so I can really dig into this book. On page 20 and seems promising.

This book read quickly. A nice parable for a difficult time. The author lets you know the lesson of the story before it even begins. The writing was good, but the story pacing was uneven.

Weird and wonderful. So I literally fell asleep with my face in this book since I didn't want to out it down. There's a little romance but the main focus is a quest with the overall point being that we have to act on behalf of the greater good...even when it's harder than being selfish because those choices have long last effects on multiple people.
I really enjoyed the writing and setting

What I though was going to be a run-of-the-mill girl fights evil and gets the boy story turned out to be a girl saves the world without the stupid boy story. Not bad!!

It took about a third of the way in to really get into the story, but once I did, I enjoyed it. The author paints lovely pictures of the world. I wanted so much more. Only, I found that everything seems to fall into place too easily for Amrita. Even the biggest decision she makes is just a given. I saw no reason why she might take a different path. Still very glad I read it. I loved the story concept. Strong #borrow #yafantasy #ya

This is my #augustmostanticipated for #anditsaugust day 1! I've heard nothing but good things about this one and it's in transit to fill my hold!

As if the gorgeous cover and interesting premise weren't enough to draw me in, the Author's Note at the beginning hit it out of the park.

"But when we act in the service of the greater good, even if it costs us--even if it costs us a lot--we are deeply and profoundly transformed by love, empathy, and wisdom. And so we transform the world."

(Though the reviews seem so-so which is a bummer. We'll see!)

How has your weekend been so far? Mine has been rough as my dad was in a motorcycle accident, though thankfully he didn't break anything. But he's been in the hospital since Friday, and it's been consuming my mind, I haven't been able to really read or concentrate on anything.

I finished The Library of Fate by Aditi Khorramshahr! I actually really enjoyed this book! It wasn't perfect but it was a fun and fast diverse read!

This book had a lot of potential which in my humble opinion was never realised. I liked the mythical elements but this read like a middle grade book where everything was resolved easily and there is no real depth to the plot.! As to the library there was only a tenuous connection so I think the premise is misleading as well as the title.

This is a beautiful and original fantasy book based on Indian folklore, and it's so refreshing to read a story that reflects Eastern traditions. It's also very interesting to read a YA novel that explores colonialism and intersectional feminism. So please, don't sleep on this book! Give it a chance and you won't regret it!!

This book keeps calling to me...

Each person's life is written in a book and stored in the library of all things. If you get there and ask the guardian, you can go in and change your fate.
Amrita has lost everything seemingly over night. Her father, country, and the boy she loves. How far will she go in order to right a terrible wrong?

Easy to read and flows well. Lovely story. The last quarter of the book exceed my expectations.

This book was AMAZING!! A perfect mix of mythology, magic, and coming-of-age. I absolutely loved it. Read it when it comes out!!!

This is such a beautiful tale...it begins with a parable, moves to a fairytale that gets interrupted by reality and transformed into myth. I loved the movement of the story & the idea that sometimes the inly way to find yourself is to let yourself go. Khorana's storytelling is a beautiful thing to behold & after reading this as an ARC, I look forward to buying it & -adding it to my own library-the first ARC for which I've decided to do that.

I love this dedication.

This book was slightly a #disappointment
Which is sad, since I was SO excited for it. (And also look at that gorgeous cover, ok?)

In a short sense: I was kind of mad the first 70% of this book, but the ending made me just go gahhh. In a good way.
