I know it's been a while since I posted, but it's a combination of the app not working, a broken hip, and a reading slump!
Anyway, this book has helped get me out of the 4 month reading slump, so I recommend it with reservations. The next picture I post will be under a spoiler, as it contains the content warnings.

It was very close between The Word is Murder and Dead Simple (hence the bonus pick), but considering that I've already bought another book in the Horowitz series and not the James, I think it means this book won for September.
pickThis is a definite new favourite series! I can't say too much about this because we haven't discussed it yet, but I feel for Shardlake. He doesn't seem to get a break from some of his problems!
I'm doing the series on Audible, and Steven Crossley does a fab job of doing different voices for the characters.

No surprise that this is my top book for July!
With the tagged book being my last read for July, I hit my page goal! Any more is an added bonus - I didn't know at what number to set my goal so the final result will be a surprise!

This is my second Percival Everett (after Dr. No), & I'm searching out the backlist (luckily, I have a few on Kindle already). Considering I don't like Huckleberry Finn, I'm surprised at how much I enjoyed this retelling! It's not quite 5 stars, as there were a couple of bits that were hard to read.
