This book was heartwarming and perfect. Great for fans of Fredrik Backman. I will definitely be looking up this authors other works.
A nice little story on a snowy day. I would have liked a bit more.
This book didn't really work for me. I was lured in by the cover, but the book fell flat. A Polish Beauty and the Beast retelling with a romance I didn't enjoy. I can't get behind the nickname 'not so clever little fox.' Felt like she was falling for a guy who either thought she was naive or stupid.
A photo doesn't do this amazing cover justice. And so far, this book is the perfect level of creepy.
The Jane's and Mary's are always fun and this one didn't disappoint. A great pirate mash up of Mary Read and The Little Mermaid. I hope these authors continue on with more of these stories in the future. I love the humor.
This week, my joy comes mostly from my cats.
💖Rambo enjoying the fireplace for the first time this fall.
💖Alice making biscuits in her cozy new bed
💖Two 8 week old kitten sisters that have joined us. No names so far, just nonstop energy.
💖Beautiful fall walks

This Cabin in the Woods x Shaun of the Dead mash-up was a lot of fun. There were multiple moments that had me laughing out loud. The romance was sweet, and the novel had a surprising amount of heart. I will forever think of Unicorns as raw meat eating murder horses.
This one was a bit slow throughout, making me question if Chloe Gong just isn't for me. But that ending! I definitely need the next one.
I enjoyed this, but not as much as I thought I would. Inez's naivety and decisions are very frustrating throughout. But the setting is amazing, and I'm curious enough to read the next one to see what happens.
This book is a masterpiece of storytelling. It is the first from the author that I have enjoyed since Mexican Gothic. She weaves the storylines together seamlessly. This would make a fantastic book club pick. I have so many thoughts.
These are my reading goals for September. I want to try and read mostly from my shelves until the end of the year. And catch up on books that have their sequels coming soon. #readinggoals #readyourshelves #readyourtbr
This was fantastic, and waiting for the next one is going to be brutal! I enjoyed this even more than the These Hollow Vows duology. The dual POVs that followed two girls in their Quests kept me intrigued and invested. The romances were perfect, and I so badly want both girls to get their happliy ever afters. I can't even find a date set for the next book.....
The idea for this.book was fantastic, and I feel like if they had focused a bit more on what made it unique (the archeological setting) and less on the adults thinking about sex constantly it would have been much better. I'm still curious enough to read the next one to see if the author finds a better balance.
I wanted to love this way more than I did. The idea was fantastic, I just struggled with figuring out each characters role. It was a complicated story of double crosses, and I spent so much time trying to grasp it so I didn't get immersed in the setting, which I thought I would enjoy as much as These Violent Delights. I do have a beautiful edition, which may be the prettiest book I own!
This was amazing! I can't wait for book two. Anyone who enjoys Aladdin retellings or The City of Brass will devour this book. The world building is incredible, and characters were so well fleshed out. So good!!
Just as fantastic as the first one! I only wish there were more villainous sisters to get more of these books.
I love these books like I love K-pop drama novels. There is something just so refreshing about the lighthearted romances. In this one, Wren and now King Theo survive a plane crash and then must survive on an island with an active volcano. It's ridiculous but so much fun!
I wanted to love this vampire/caraval book, and it started out well. I think the biggest issue was the length, it was way too long for the story and there were too many characters to keep track of. Pretty book though!
I really enjoyed the whimsy and beautiful writing of this novel. Reminded me of an adult Stephanie Garber. The ending left me a bit, wanting, but I enjoyed the journey. Gorgeous world and gorgeous cover!
Loving this series. I'm not sure why I waited so long to read it. The atmosphere and setting of 1920s New York is perfect.
It's just as epic as the first book! I love this Mad Max style world and can't wait to see what this author comes up with next! I also felt that the authors note at the start of the book added a lot to understanding the motivations behind her story.
This book feels like reading the lyrics to a Taylor Swift song. I absolutely loved Ethan and Talia along with their great friends. It's a really sweet love story for any fans of Kristin Dwyer and Cameron Lund.
This book was fantastic and completely enthralling. I really hope they turn it into a movie. Moore follows a real group of workers in the US Treasury and shows how they tried to take down Germanys economy during World War Two and how they influenced our current system. I particularly liked the authors notes for each chapter informing the reader what was truth and fiction. Showing that the most unbelievable things actually happened. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love this world and this story tied in beautifully to Six Crimson Cranes. I hope the author will give us more stories from this world.
A day late but I wanted to join in because reading everyone's answers has become a highlight of my Friday's.
1) Birds enjoying as my backyard tree starts to return.
2) The smell of my indoor blooming jasmine
3) Harry Potter movie night with my nieces
4) Little surprises in my garden as spring comes
5) Happy kitties in sunbeams

This was fantastic! The world building, magic system, atmosphere, and characters were all spot on for me. Hannah Whitten has certainly become a favourite, and I can't wait to pick up the next one.
I am loving everything about this book! I'm desperately going to need more cozy sci-fi in my life!
I understand the issues a lot of people had with this one as it does read quite young. I think it would have been received better if it had just been comped to Cinderella rather than Marissa Meyers Cinder. I did find it quite slow, but I like the promise of the series and the fairy tale aspect, so I will give book 2 a go.
John Boyne is a master at writing emotion. This book is short but says a lot. Looking at the roles of men and women, abuse, suicide, small town ideologies, and religion, this book crams a lot into its pages but is never preachy. It would make a fantastic book club pick. I love the idea of his Elements series and will definitely be getting the next one.
This book was nothing like I was expecting and surprised me in the best way. The dystopian, cyber punk world is so well designed, and the characters have such strong personalities. This is placed in YA, but it's different from any YA I've read in the past. This didn't read as a debut to me. I'm super curious to see where this goes.
Ben Winters never disappoints. He's in the same class as Blake Crouch and Rob Hart, creating twisty, mind-bending science that comes across as possible. This book is a mix of a thriller and a horror about what would happen if people were able to harvest time. A quick read that I devoured. He has become an auto buy author for me! ##catsoflitsy #alice
I think this is another one of those instances where the goodreads reviews are overly harsh. While I would have liked more adventure and less politics in this Mexican feminine zorro tale, for a debut, I thought the writing was good and the setting was lovely. And it may just be the prettiest book on my shelf.
This is a must-read for all murder mystery lovers! I devoured this in a sitting. It was the most clever mystery I've read in a long time. I had picked it up when I was intrigued that Stephen King, Liane Moriarty, and Alex Michaelides all praised it with blurbs. I think this author has found her niche, and I hope to read more of her mysteries in the future. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was magic and my favourite so far by Choo. I read this slowly and am so sad it's over. The setting wad a character in itself and I loved how the two story lines weaved together. This will definitely be one of my favourite reads of 2024 and a book I will think about for a long time. Beautiful and perfect! #highlyrecommend
I don't know what it is about K-pop romances, but they have become my comfort reads. I loved this one and hope we get more stories for the other boys in the band.
This was such a fantastic premise for a YA novel. In a futuristic Waterworld Earth where major cities have all been lost under water a diver girl and her sister team up with Pirates to dive sunken Las Vegas to raid the vaults of the Treasure Island hotel for its gold. Complete with new takes on loved Treasure Island characters. How did no one think of this idea before? Can't wait to see what this author comes up with next. #catsoflitsy #alice
I absolutely love this duology and wish I could spend more time in this world. The author created a Gotham style city with corrupt mayor's and mob bosses and added in people turning into their own nightmares. Dinosaurs roam the streets, and pretty much any nightmare you could imagine comes to life. The FMC, who is afraid of everything, must navigate this world to save her friends from a giant lizard. I can't recommend this enough! So original!
Kiersten White has definitely found her niche in creepy, weird adult horror. While I didn't love this one as much as Hide, it was still a really unique premise that kept me entertained. And I absolutely love these covers!
I absolutely love the art of this book!
I adored this ghost story! A ghost talker and ghost boy who can't stand each other have to travel through the liminal world to save him before Halloween when he is gone forever. I would have loved to experience more of the liminal world. Mr. Mortmanger, the elderly, cannibal, convenience store owner gave me Percy Jackson vibes. Lots of fun! I appreciate getting this in a Fairyloot box as it's not one I normally would have picked up on my own.
My favourite reads of 2023. #bestof2023 #top23of2023 . Tagged book was my overall favourite read of the year.

Just started this one and can already tell it will be one of my favorites of 2023! Cyberpunk, cyborgs, Heists, renegades, futuristic Beijing. This book is the perfect mash up of Cinder and Six of Crows.
