You never know what you‘ll come across when you‘re out on the road! These dogs weren‘t menacing but I wasn‘t taking any chances as I was outnumbered. I enjoyed this breezy, poignant memoir by a fellow driver. Recap: truckers work incredibly long, hard hours; they have mad skills; they deal with a lot of bullshit; they see beyond the myths of their personas and the country as a whole ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

For some reason, this made me think of some of the most outrageous authorial hoaxes ever perpetrated on the reading public. Finally, after considering several (The Hitler Diaries, anyone?), I landed on the weird, winding tale of J. T. (for Terminator) Leroy, aka Laura Albert. Humph. Whatever, for what it‘s worth.... (shrugs shoulders).

Moray_Reads I hadn't read this before. It was fun, with the trademark Pratchett humour. The "steering committee" had me laughing out loud 6y

gossamerchild I cannot believe I haven't finished this yet! So far it's hilarious- I LOVE the old woman nome. Reminds me STRONGLY of The Carpet People. Still, not the Discworld 😂😂 6y

Gezemice @Riveted_Reader_Melissa @julesG @gossamerchild It reminded me of The Carpet People, too! I enjoyed it, but I agree, it is no Discworld. On the other hand, I have learned it is based on The Borrowers, which I have not heard of before, but I will have to check out. And while it us no Discworld, I enjoy these forays into kid‘s Pratchett. 6y

Iblu Finally catching up!!! The audiobooks def help in speeding up proceedings and I can safely listen to it with my bookish 8 yrs old currently exploring super classics like Around the world in 80 days 6y
