#TBRtemptation post! This is a screenshot from a short FB Live video. It's Dr. David Agus' top read of 2016. He was interviewed by the #ReadToLead campaign. Dr. Agus is considered one of the world's leading doctors and biomedical researchers, and he says this book paradigm-shifted his thoughts on life in general. So....added 😊👍🏻! #BestBookRead #blameLitsy #blameMrBook

Here's a pick that came out of left field! #ReadToLead, which asked many world leaders in various fields what their favorite books read in 2016 were, had this 1999 history book take #9 billing. For some reason, this book has a serious resurgence afoot, & has a 4.34 GR average (higher than TKAMB!) with almost 50,000 ratings!!! Well, needless to say, I've added this one to my TBR. It's imperative I know what all the hoopla is about! 🤔 #BestBookRead

LeahBergen It's fantastic (and was actually first published in 1959). 😀 8y
Suet624 A stunning true story. You won't believe what goes on in that book. 8y
rabbitprincess It was pretty awesome! 8y

Dogearedcopy This is a book that I highly recommend in audio as well! I listened to it earlier this year; and it's the most recent addition to my Personal Pantheon of All-Time Great Audiobooks. Simon Prebble narrates masterfully. 🐧❄️🌊🌬⚓️ 8y
tlmorgan I stumbled on this story at a particularly low time. I've never felt as compelled to read any story of survival the way I did Shackletons. I'm not an adventurer, explorer, etc. this story of stubborn survival was like it spoke to me. Truly amazing. 8y
Hooked_on_books I haven't read this one, but Shackleton's book is pretty incredible. 8y
Jinjer Read it. Loved it. 8y
Jaimelire This sounds good! 8y
HardcoverHearts This is an amazing book. I think of it frequently. It will stay with you. 8y
Meg858 This book is wonderful in every way! Fair warning you immediately feel like you're with the crew, I found a pile of blankets and hot coffee made me feel less cold 8y

Same for when I read about the Donner Party 😳! @rabbitprincess 😁👏🏻👏🏻! @Dogearedcopy That is awesome 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻!!!! You're awesome. You do know that, right ☺? @tlmorgan Oh my! You make me itch for this selection 😁👍🏻! @Hooked_on_books Ooh! You always have amazing recs 😎👌🏻👍🏻! Thank you for that! 8y

The 3rd most-cited influential book in 2016 by the world's most influential minds across industries was this book. I really, really want to read this! Former Joint Chiefs head, he turned the War on Terror around--the WH wasn't exactly doing things right--and crushed Al Qaeda & the Taliban by realizing the the field of war changed. He found other industries changed in the same way too--from hospitals to charities to NASA. #BestBookRead #ReadToLead

Among all the world-wide industry leaders that participated in the international #ReadToLead campaign, the second-most cited book as their favorite read in 2016 was Adam Grant's "Originals". So, of necessity, this is now on TBR and hanging out at the top of it ???. Can't go wrong with what the movers & shakers appreciate! #BestBookRead

NovelGirl82 I bought this for a girl (fellow book nerd!) that graduated this year. She enjoyed it! 8y
BillAicher It's on my TBR right after The Revenge of Analog. 8y

World-renowned make-up artist, Bobbi Brown, has an all-time favorite book, Liz Murray's "Breaking Night". Her favorite bio read in 2016, Bruce Springsteen's "Born To Run". Richard Branson, founder & CEO of Virgin, wrote a brief post on his 5 favorites reads of 2016: Alastair Campbell's "Winners", his own "Ending the War On Drugs", Richard Reed's "If I Could Tell You Just One Thing", Matthew Syed's "Black Box Thinking", and John Steinbeck's "Travels With Charley". Hmmmm, I may be adding a couple of these to my TBR. Anything stand out to you about his choices? #ReadToLead #TBRtemptation #blameLitsy #blameMrBook ?

BookDragonNotWorm "Travels with Charlie" was a touch slow, but you've gotta love a true story about a man and his dog. ? I'm not surprised Branson chose a book about getting back in touch with real America and the individuals who live there, it's one of the qualities that helped make him such a successful businessman. 8y

Jean Case, Chairman of the National Geographic Society, has chosen these as her favorite 2016 reads. Have you read any of these? I want to read *all* of them, thank you very much 😁! I'm having a blast finding out what various people enjoyed reading this past year ☺️! #ReadToLead

cathysaid The Girls of Atomic City rocks! Amazing what these women did at a time when many thought they were out of their league. 👍 8y
Jessicav I have Wonderland in my Audible library and have high hopes for it. Hillbilly Elegy keeps catching my eye as well... 8y
ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled Endurance is great (but I thought it was piblished decades ago? I certainly read it a few years back. New edition?) a great book, anyway!! 8y

LibrarianJen I still haven't read Girls of Atomic City. I don't really read books about where I'm from. Which is silly, I know! 8y
Jaimelire Girls of Atomic City....super interesting read! 8y
Alwayscoolwb I've read endurance and hillbilly elegy. Both enjoyable reads. 8y
BarbaraJean I love these types of lists, but they also make me edgy as I start thinking of my own "best of" list... because it feels like a looming deadline! I start thinking: But wait! I still have three more weeks! I can still squeeze more books in! 8y
Blueberry I wonder if Nat George still has there traveling warehouse book sales. They were pretty awesome. 8y
