#TLT. #ThreeListThursday

Thank you for the tag @dabbe . 😊 My three are books that I have read with the #HashtagBrigade and probably would not have picked up otherwise! 😃

dabbe Thank goodness for the #hashtagbrigade! 🤣 Thanks for playing and sharing. 🩵📚🩵 8h

I‘m counting Floss because I‘m currently reading it with #hashtagbrigade and it has to count for something! I did start Ivanhoe that‘s on this list but I‘ve barely touched it so I left it off #TLT #Threelistthursday

Ruthiella I think it‘s fair to count The Mill on the Floss. 👍 9h
mcctrish @Ruthiella we are closer to the end than the start 8h

#ThreeListThursday #TLT @dabbe
Well, this one oughta be fun! I'm such a sucker for book lists. 🤣
1. Survey link: https://www.listchallenges.com/1001-books-you-must-read-before-you-die-1700s
2. Share your score if you'd like.
3. Share your 3 favorites from the list or 3 that you might be interested in reading, or 3 you thought were horrible or a combo of whatever you'd like.
4. Tag a few!
Tagging Littens who played last week. 🤩

Librarybelle I got 16, but there are so many I‘m in the middle of but did not count because I did not finish them. Some I‘ve not heard of before and others are on my to read list. 😂 13h
BarkingMadRead 27 for me (I counted two that I‘m currently reading) 13h
lil1inblue Uh oh. This era does not bode well for me... 😂 12h

BooksandCoffee4Me Oh, 22 only! Jane Austen saved me on this one. So many I‘d not heard of but look interesting! Remembered how much I loved Woman in White. Thanks for the tag @dabbe 💛 12h
CSeydel Just 11. Not bad for a STEM major, though, right? … right?? 12h
CSeydel Probably another 11 on my TBR. But most of them I hadn‘t heard of 😔 12h
Amor4Libros I got 1…Moby Dick! 🤣🤣 12h
dabbe @Librarybelle 🎯🩵🎯 Most from the 1700s, I'm like 😳! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🩵📚🩵 12h
dabbe @BarkingMadRead Thank goodness for the #hashtagbrigade! We were able to count quite a few! (and I included MILL ON THE FLOSS since we will be finished soon). Thanks for playing and sharing. 🩵📚🩵 12h
dabbe @lil1inblue 🎯🩵🎯! 🤣 Thanks for playing and sharing. 🩵📚🩵 12h
dabbe @BooksandCoffee4Me #ditto! I adored WOMAN IN WHITE! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🩵📚🩵 12h
dabbe @CSeydel R.I.G.H.T.! 🤣😍🤣 Thanks for playing and sharing. 🩵📚🩵 12h
dabbe @CSeydel 🎯🩵🎯! 12h
dabbe @Amor4Libros And I only read “Call me Ishmael“ and called it a day! 🤣 Thanks for playing and sharing. 🩵📚🩵 12h
SaunteringVaguelyDownwards Got 22, which is not too bad for a Lit major focusing on contemporary texts! 12h
dabbe @SaunteringVaguelyDownwards I think you'll kick some serious ass as we move forward in years! 🤩 Thanks for playing and sharing! 🩵📚🩵 12h
willaful Only 20 for me! Would be a bit higher if I had participated in *all* the #HashtagBrigade reads. ;-) Nothing I especially want to read but certainly might if the brigade does them. :-) 11h
peaKnit I know face slaps are not allowed but @dabbe…I got 4 😂 thank gosh for Jane Austen. 11h
shortsarahrose I got 12, which is honestly better than I expected (thanks mostly to actually liking 19th century American lit - Melville, Hawthorne, Poe). Sorrows of Young Werther should count twice cause I read it in German 😆 (surprised that with three Goethe texts on the list, Faust wasn‘t one of them! I guess maybe because it‘s technically a play?) 11h
Bklover 18- thanks to #hashtagbrigade and Jane Austen. There are quite a few I hadn‘t even heard of! 11h
TheSpineView Thanks for the tag! 🥰💛🏷 10h
Bookwormjillk Lucky 13. Grateful for#PemberLittens and #HashtagBrigade 🤣 10h
Bookwormjillk @BarkingMadRead I definitely counted Mill on the Floss. We‘re almost done! 10h
Read4life Thanks for the tag!! 💙📚💙 10h
ChaoticMissAdventures Oh! It is too bad they couldn't find a few more 😂 thanks for the tag! 9h
Deblovestoread Thanks for the tag! I‘m going to get my book out before I do the survey as my memory was much better back then. 9h
Daisey @tpixie I went through and have read 39 (including currently reading Mill on the Floss). I‘ll have to watch for these the next few weeks. 8h
dabbe @willaful The #hashtagbrigade saved my sorry ass! 🤣 Thanks for playing and sharing. 🩵📚🩵 8h
dabbe @peaKnit I think the only one I read from the 1700s was GULLIVER'S TRAVELS. The others I was like 😳. 🤣 We'll get better as the list moves forward a few years!
Thanks for playing and sharing. 🩵📚🩵
8h
dabbe @shortsarahrose Yep, I think plays don't count, though they should. And you should count it twice! I read COUNT OF MONTE CHRISTO in French, and I counted it twice. I needed all the help I could get! 🤣 Thanks for playing and sharing. 🩵📚🩵 8h
dabbe @Bklover IKR? 1700s was like 😳!!! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🩵📚🩵 8h
dabbe @TheSpineView YW! 😍 8h
dabbe @Bookwormjillk IKR? Thanks for playing and sharing. 🩵📚🩵 8h
dabbe @Bookwormjillk I did, too! 🤣 8h
dabbe @Read4life YW! 😍 8h
dabbe @Deblovestoread You have this book? How cool is that? I'm thinking of getting it! 😍 8h
dabbe @Daisey You beat my sorry butt! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🩵📚🩵 8h
AnnCrystal Thank You For The Tag 📚😉👍🏼💝. (edited) 8h
dabbe @AnnCrystal YW! 😍 8h
Lesliereadsalot Thanks for the tag but I can barely remember what I had for lunch let alone books from my far past! 🩷 8h
AnnCrystal Whispering again...👀...Zero!

I did watch many as movies, but it's been years.

1 - Carmilla. Long Time TBR book (I'm horrible, still need to read Dracula too).

Movies

2- North and South I saw one version of this many years ago and fell in love with the story

3- Orson Welles In Jane Eyre 💝💝💝.

📚💝.

rwmg 39 including 2 I DNF-ed (Clarissa and Tristam Shandy).
7h
Eggs 6 🙀🙄!!! 5h
julesG I might have read 13 books from that list. 4h
julesG @shortsarahrose I had similar thoughts about Goethe and was wondering why a few others were missing. Them being plays might be the reason. 4h
Amiable I don‘t even care about my score —the fact that I could check off “Clarissa” caused me to shout “YES!!” and pump my fist in celebration. 🎉 ☝🏼😀 2h
tpixie 12. It said the average was 18! 2h

mcctrish I‘m glad Tom saved the day but I still can‘t stand him. I thought he‘d snuck the money in the tin. If the debts are paid doesn‘t #techytully still need a job? 20h
BarkingMadRead @mcctrish you would think! That part confused me a bit, maybe it was just excitement 19h
See All 8 Comments
mcctrish @BarkingMadRead he‘s a bit rash when it comes to #snakywakey 19h
Ruthiella @mcctrish I thought too Tom would sneak the money in to the tin. And for sure, even if the debts are paid, both he and Mr. T. have to work ie, stay at the Mill or find somewhere else. So this is all very performative. 18h
mcctrish @Ruthiella right! Doesn‘t their house come with running the mill? So his debts are paid and he leaves his job and now he‘s homeless too? Mrs Tulliver is going to lose her shit! #firsttheteapotsnowthehouse (edited) 18h
eeclayton It felt to me like Tom wasn't saving the family to save the family but to bask in the glory 🫤 16h
Clare-Dragonfly I am worried now that Tom has made this big announcement but doesn‘t literally have the money that something will happen to prevent them from getting it 😬 10h

mcctrish It happened faster than I thought #maggiespeaksthetruth I wonder if Tom will actually hear and understand Maggie‘s words later on? How he is inherently mean? I pity any girl he sets his eye on ( I don‘t think Tom is wrong though that #techytully being upset with Phil and Mags would be nothing compared to #snakywakey ‘s response or how compromised Mags would be if it was known she was meeting up with a boy) 2d
TheAromaofBooks @mcctrish - That's the thing, Tom wasn't 100% wrong; I think he was actually right about a lot of what he said, but wowsers he sure is one self-satisfied, obnoxious kid. Such an uncomplicated conscience - if I do it, it's right; if I don't do it, it's wrong 😂 Poor Maggie. I was glad that she at least put the vow into her own words! 2d

Ruthiella Tom could have been more compassionate, for sure. I did like how Maggie told him off-even though it will not soak in-he is so sure of his own correctness. 2d
Bookwormjillk Yeah I was liking Tom for a while but today I was team #ShutUpTom 2d
dabbe I couldn't help but also notice that this chapter ends with Maggie actually being a wee bit glad that the secret is out in the open and that she can't see Phil anymore. Maybe she loved him but not enough. And Tom, well, maybe a new hashtag: #tommytemper? #oy

Leftcoastzen Tom is so overbearing, he feels he‘s the only thing holding it all together.Poor Maggie has so few privileges or prospects because of the situation.I think she loved talking with Phil & having a little secret.Like @dabbe I think she felt relieved. She doesn‘t care for Phil enough 20h
