Congratulations! You're all amazing! Team #Flerken got 126,757 points for #HauntedShelf
It‘s been a couple of weeks since I‘ve hung out at the coffee shop on a Saturday morning & it feels good to feel well enough to be back.💛
This morning I‘m reading the tagged book a bit, hopefully writing some #LitsyLove responses & I just tabulated my #HauntedShelf numbers for Team #Flerken. I thought I missed it.🤦🏻♀️Not a great showing for my final 2 weeks & I still need to do book reviews, but given illness & work pressures, I‘ll take it.
My first check in total for #hauntedshelf was 718.
In the second half of the month I got 1,266 points.
My final total for Team #Flerken is 1,984.
Thank you @PuddleJumper for hosting, helping, and cheering us on!
Final #HauntedShelf points check in for Team #Flerken
9380 points! I did not read as much as I had hoped, and most of my bingo boards have single lines finished, with only Body Count Bingo getting a blackout, and only after I decided to count short stories individually. I did not, in fact, catch 'em all. I did much better in Pokemon Sleep this month. 😂
@PuddleJumper
Thank you @PuddleJumper , Team #Flerken, #HauntedShelf, #Spookoween, and @TheSpineView for encouraging more reading in a busy month!
I didn‘t reach my lofty goal of 6 books, but I got 1 book read that‘s been on my shelf for awhile, 1 book read for book club, & took a big bite out of Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix. I read enough of an ARC to write a review, & enjoyed an essay related to an art exhibit seen this month. +2 new authors to 🧡!
My final total for #HauntedShelf: 12530 points.
@PuddleJumper Thank you for all your work in organizing this event and for being an inspiring leader for team #Flerken!
Many thanks to all those who organized #HauntedShelf readathons and challenges, especially @TheSpineView @Catsandbooks @TheAromaofBooks @Texreader @Emilymdxn @TEArificbooks @Bookwormjillk
I was finally able to fill one of the more difficult #52bookclub categories, “Author debut in second half of 2024.“ I've read a number of novels by Andrew Pyper, but this is his debut under the pseudonym Mason Coile.
This short novel is a spooky haunted house story featuring AI “monsters“. I didn't enjoy it as much as the other Pyper works I've read, but as it was set on Hallowe'en day, it was a good one to read this week.
A low pick. Inspired by Le Fanu's Carmilla, this graphic novel set in 1990's NYC features mysterious deaths, vampires and Chinese folklore. It was a good quick read for Hallowe'en night.

This thriller, about an FBI agent hunting a serial killer, kept me reading late into the night!
