pickA prompt on my library‘s book challenge is to read the book that‘s been on your tbr the longest. I‘ve owned this book for over 20 years. I love Binchy‘s slow-paced, small town, Irish family stories, but they‘re long. This one is about a mother who leaves her family to live with her first love, but everyone thinks she died. Goes back and forth between mother‘s life & her daughter. Good story, felt the ending was too fast. #doublespin for March

pick#TodayILearned what a terrible leader Henry III was. That's probably why there aren't many films or books devoted to him. Still, I'm really enjoying Costain's Plantagenet series. It's very readable, even if some of the feelings and thoughts the author attributes to these real-life characters might have involved some guesswork.

pickThis short story collection was more hits than misses. She examines the intersection of being Black and Puerto Rican in America.
It‘s bookended by stories about a college girl who joins a convent. The first told by the men lusting after her and the final story by her. Another hit was a multiple perspective story about a man married to one sister while in love with and a father to the other‘s children. #doublespin
