Pic collage will only let me add 20 pics. But here‘s my #Top24of24
The other four are:
You could make this place beautiful by Maggie Smith
Britney‘s memoir
All the colours of the dark
And The Christmas Guest by Peter Swanson

I really enjoyed this. An artist couple living in isolation on Cape Cod (the real life artists Jo and Edward Hopper) get drawn into the lives of two boys and the extended family. The boys are heartbreaking and delightful; I loved seeing artist Mr Aitch get drawn out of himself by them. I pretty much hated everyone else, but in the best bookish way. There‘s a lot not told, it‘s left to the reader to interpret. It‘s slow, thoughtful and gentle.
This month's #DoubleSpin just isn't doing it for me

Such a gorgeous Sunday! Hiked 2.7 miles this morning; of which the Grand did 2.2 before wanting her stroller--super impressed💞
And now I'm going to sit outside and start my #DoubleSpin before the fam comes for dinner.
It took me a bit longer than normal to get into the book, but I did. I could see what was coming a mile away, though I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be shocking. The MC's naivete just about drove me nuts a few times though. This gave me such Rory vibes from The Gilmore Girls- naivete and all. The end was definitely lackluster...and yet realistic, in part at least.
I can always get on board with dysfunctional family stories, messy inter generational trauma and family secrets. I enjoyed this one, though some challenging themes which others have touched on previously.
Thanks to @Caroline2 for birthday gift last year!
I was going to say that I devoured this book but I think it actually devoured me! It‘s been a long time since I‘ve been this immersed in a story. The characters and setting were so real. Lots of trigger warnings but I loved it.
A very enjoyable summer read about friendship, relationships and following your heart.
This was my July #TBRtarot pick.
